Likewise your (very impressive) celebrated drawing at ours last season like you’d won a trophy or something. It’s the way of Football fans, what do you expect with a last minute equaliser, polite applause?
[/QUOTE]

Well I was there and I don't recall us celebrating a 26th minute equaliser in quite the same gusto :bg:. At the end of the day, the only time in non league I will celebrate wildly is the day we get back to the FL. Everyone has their level, this is our lowest ebb and likewise your highest. Forgive me if I can't get too excited about beating the likes of Maidenhead.

That's nothing. Over one festive period we had Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, and whupped 'em all apart from a thrilling 1–1 draw at Stamford Bridge. In between we also had friendlies at Barcelona and Corinthians' grounds to keep our legs fresh, and a cool 4–0 home win at Boca Juniors in a semi-final for a worldwide cup competition none of you tinpotters will remember even if you were alive back then. I remember the heaving terraces of ash and clinker turning into mudslides in the persistent sleet and hail as 90,000 Haligonians waved their flat caps and rattles at such heroes as Lesley Jefferson, Geoff Leslie, Harold "Twinkie" Orton and of course big Tommy Drawden.

Pathetic considering all you newcomers are still tugging yourselves off over your traditional derby games against bloody Pegasus Juniors or whoever. Ooh, it gets my back up just imagining how insulting it is that you're now playing clubs of such mighty stature as mine.

Perhaps you and the club should get excited about beating Maidenhead etc. it may help you regain your rightful place in the league above :)

You don't to remind us of your ex football league status, its in clear view when watching highlights of halifax games. Big ground that you rent off the council and not a single person in sight. Must of been a great sight when full

Another Fylde fan that doesn't like Halifax. Shock horror

Not sure the reply option is showing the whole post of what's being quoted at the moment?

Pfft. Hardly. If you want to talk about giant killing, I challenge ANY of you fuckers to trump our 2 aces: Halifax Town 2 Man Utd 1, Halifax Town 1 Man City 0.

Over 2 you.
Wrexham 2 Arsenal 1
Wrexham 1 Porto 0

There are other managers available. We aren't going to get promoted so we should focus on winning fans back with a manager who plays attractive football. I would go for Gavin Rose from Dulwich. The squad is big enough for another manager to come in and implement a new style without needing to sign too many. The worst thing we could do right now is sell Still's less favoured players and let him build a squad entirely to his liking, as he's signed so much dross that he'd likely just sign more.

I don't know how many games you've seen but we look way off being competitive and Still seems to be learning nothing from game to game. Having Sparkes and Harrison up top is killing us as they're too slow to have any real impact, while Elito just doesn't move or show for the ball. All three continue to start however. Our tactics are so outdated - all 11 men back when defending set pieces, all passing up to the attack goes through the air, no movement up front, but worst of all there's no defensive organisation.

I’ve not been to a game yet :dk:

Lucky you.

I think it helps maintain a little more objectivity, as the reaction to some of the defeats has been hysterical.

Performances aside, we should stick with Still and give him a little time to implement his ideas. He was appointed as a "steadying hand" and backed to bring in players. He brought in 11 to re-shape the squad and if you look at our starting line up, almost all are new players.

Whether we like to accept it or not, it does take time when you have this much upheaval, and we were always going to have an almost impossible task replacing Akinde.

Changing manager once again would only see a raft of further new signings meaning the problem with our hugely bloated squad gets even worse, and we continue on the embarrassing cycle of 2 / 3 / 4 managers every season.

What this club needs more than anything else is a bit of continuity. If we are going to panic, I would suggest giving it at least a little more time before doing so.

Quite frankly until you’ve viewed just how abysmally bad the performances have been you have no basis on which to post that.

If it were one or two posters being ‘hysterical’ then I’d agree - but surely the facts that it’s virtually every single one of us on here should suggest something to you.

Dreadful game at the Rec,two poor sides. Waddock has signed players to fit his style of play, but the system was sussed half-way through last season. I fear for the near future; no money in the pot ,lumbered with a squad physically unsuited to this league.

I accept that and am aware that it has been largely shambolic so far. I am also of the view that many forgot how tough this division is. We have no divine right to beat the likes of Braintree, Harrogate and Ebbsfleet.

However, that doesn't change my outlook on the bigger picture. I would take long term stability over one poor short term decision after another, which leads to year upon year of chaos, even if it's with a manager who I do not want be at the club.

We made our decision to appoint Still, we now need to stick with him for a good run of games and hope that we settle into a better position than the one we currently find ourselves in. I don't know where my cut off point would be, but it's absolutely not after 5 league games.

Don't forget as John Still keeps saying, the year he won the league with Luton, they only won 2 from the first 8, then went 27 unbeaten so there is hope yet. Regarding other managers, last season before the merygoround of managers, Luke Garrad actually applied for the job but TK didn't even have the courtesy to give him an interview. At the moment the club are more interested in Indian Weddings and Hiring out all other parts of the Hive complex than concentrating on the Football side. Without boasting, we are clearly the wealthiest club in this League, but the worst run and organised, and that is what happens when one man owns the lot.

We've got a 74 man squad and we're still paying off the 249 managers we've sacked in the past five years.

Salford's wage bill pales into insignificance in comparison.

Let’s leave these silly views to the likes of the Barnet Facebook fan pages and not discredit what is actually a fairly decent forum with that rubbish please.
