I'd love to see how you Barnet fans would react if you went 17 games without a win (we lost most of them as well) like we did last season
I’ll take your 17 and raise you 20. (And we stayed up). :bg:

Ha! I won the internet yesterday.:woo:

I've been busy.

Wrexham 2-1 Middlesbrough 1999
Wrexham 1-0 West Ham 1997

Can you also advise me on how many games you've won in Europe?

We only went a piddling 15. Typical fucking Orient, never the best at anything.

Re: the Cup giantkillings willy-waving, I give you:

Margate 1-0 Orient
Orient 0-1 Enfield

Sorry, those 2 come nowhere near to even matching our pair of aces- we beat MANCHESTER UNITED and MANCHESTER CITY (I might add that at the time, City were the most expensive squad of footballers EVER assembled ANYWHERE on the planet ).

This is why I didn't to bother to mention Halifax Town 1 Stoke City 0, Halifax Town 2 West Brom 1 or even Halifax Town 3 Cardiff City 1.

Back to you.

Unfortunately our own County Cup has never facilitated entry to Europe for the winners, unlike the Welsh version, so no, we've never won a game in Europe.

Tinpot thread for all this please.

Or maybe we could create a 'history' thread where we can discuss our memories of extinct football clubs could be better?

City came mid table that season, sorry.

We've beaten Cardiff a gazillion times.

Create a new thread and we'll have it awff.

Routine win over lower league opposition? Nah.

Though of course that was the year we beat First Division sides Leicester (2-zip at their place) and Chelsea (from 2-0 down). But we don’t like to go on about it. When you’ve beaten Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and Chesterfield, boasting about Chelsea & Leicester seems a bit pointless.

Thanks for that, unsure of the relevance

I imagine 1:08 to about 1:20 minute mark was maybe what Seston (Seaton!) was trying to point out, old Dozza is thankful to be able to play on an impeccable grass pitch in a proper stadium against a team with about 100 years League history, about sums it up kidda.

‘Coming to a club like Hartlepool for a club like Sutton United is a fantastic thing’ does not equate to Sutton United’s cup final. Dos says something nice about every club we play away at, including Solihull on Saturday. It’s classic manager speak for talking up your result It’s genuinely hilarious that you think it’s anything else

To be fair to Jared virtually every manager says something similar when they play at ours, whereas a smaller number said it when we were in the football league. It is a fact that Hartlepool is a big day out for many clubs here, with a nice pitch, good crowds and facilities for the level. Teams raise their game here and that is one reason our home record was so dire last year. Just as going to Sutton would be massive for someone somewhere down the pyramid.

I’m not saying Hartlepool aren’t a bigger club or don’t have excellent facilities. But we’ve played bigger clubs (Leeds, Arsenal) in the last few years. After a season or two in this division you get used to going to all the ex-league clubs, it almost gets routine. Yes, it’s 100+ times better and more exciting then playing at small regional clubs like Heybridge Swifts, Ashford Town (Middlesex) and Kingstonian but after a season you get used to it. I highly doubt Sutton and Paul Doswell would ‘raise their game’ (not suggesting other clubs don’t) but after 10 years of watching Dos’ Sutton we (team and fans) treat every game as a big game, keep going to the end in every game and stupidly celebrate when things go our way.

Makes no difference, a First Division club nonetheless, as were Cardiff at the time. "Sorry".

For the division we have a few “big clubs” but genuinely intrigued if you all feel you’re big clubs in a down period, or do some think you could be in transition to long term non leaguers?

Didn't Telford go 34 without a win over two seasons 4 or 5 years back (23 in the second half of their relegation season and then 11 in their season back)?

Didn't say anything about it being your cup final like so I dunno where you pulled that from? Funny how you left the first bit of his quote out, the bit were he says 'these are the days we wanna be involved in' let's be honest, we both know what he's getting at.

Might I suggest this gets pushed over to a thread called something like 'bald men's comb nostalgia' in which brotherhood members can discuss how luscious their hair was when their club played a game in the past and argue over the comb.
I have to side with the Sutton fan here, after all they finished well above Hartlepool last season and faced some real Giants in the cup. For the fans it may be a nice change to visit large stadiums with an extra thousand fans in attendance, for the players I imagine they have a different perspective.

Most teams finished above us last season, what’s your point? Sutton were a great team and are looking like it again this season, I can’t knock them on that front.

But you’re right it is getting a bit silly, the sooner the Natural Order resumes we can all get back to business.

Sorry I got your quote wrong, you initially said ‘dream game for Sutton’. Which I think we all realised it’s not quite. Big and nice day out, just not necessarily ‘dream’ material.

Yes, games at bigger clubs are what we all want to be involved in, who ever you support, play for or manage- the bigger the stage the better, we’re all ambitious or we should be

We have 4 big clubs in this league. 4 Proper Clubs. The Fab 4. The 4 Brothers.

We all know who they are.

We also have Brother Torquay, Brother Stockport and Brother York. They shall not be forgotten.
