Two vital games on tonight...

Barrow v Tranmere
Braintree v Lincoln

Purely based on the league table, Lincoln should be walking this one. A quick glance at the form table however shows that Braintree and Lincoln are pretty much neck and neck over the last 6, and this tie could be more interesting than at first glance.

Similarly, Barrow are just outside the playoffs but on a rotten run of form, and coupled with suspensions and injuries could struggle.

I still don't think Tranmere will catch Lincoln, and I still think FGR are the most likely team to return to form and catch them. Tonight's results could be key.

Only drawing with York certainly makes this one a game we need three points from, although, as you say, and like York, Braintree aren't doing too badly at the minute.

Since the Woking game, where we were a bit all over the place defensively, we've certainly gone a bit more solid rather than relatively free-scoring like earlier in the season. 5 clean sheets in our last 6 away games and 4 in our last 5.

I think I read that we're going to end up having 4 games in hand on FGR by the time we next play in the league in 2 weeks time at Boreham Wood?

Wouldn't be that many surely, we are away at.Sutton Tuesday evening so would only be three wouldn't it?

Braintree looked very dangerous at our place the other week, sat deep defended well, and then broke quickly and cut through our defence wth ease on numerous occasions, could have scored quite a few more with better finishing and if Russell wasn't such a top keeper. We were lucky to nick a draw. Think Lincoln will be harder for them to do that to, and in the end will have too much for them.

Nice of Barrow to invite Tranmere to the unveiling of the new plaque to commemorate their historic cup win earlier this season. Unfortunately for them, they are now shite whereas Tranmere are looking good, so expect an away win here too.

Pressure will really be on our clash with Daggers on Saturday if both away sides win tonight, which I think they will.

Braintree didn't look that great against us (Wrexham) on Saturday. Not bad going forward but their defence looked quite shaky and we should have scored a few more. Should be a routine win for Lincoln.

Barrow seem to play Tranmere every month.

But they must be good. They ripped through our defence. No one does that at our place, apart from top sides like Torquay and Woking.

After tonight we've got a relatively easy run in. Our three games against sides in top 8 are at home, whilst we have 4 home games against struggling sides.

Would take a draw tonight but don't see any reason why we can't win. Barrow I'll have a point to prove and be desperate to rescue any playoff chance they have but I think we'll have too much finesse for that giant of a CB they have.

Doesn't matter what Tranmere do tonight, we'll overtake them again on Saturday if we beat Daggers. Only need Lincoln to lose to have a chance to go top.

Think Lincoln will win at Braintree easily, whilst Tranmere struggle up at Olker street. Hope we don't get any more injuries.

Another game tonight is Macclesfield v Dulwich in the trophy. Hope Macc go through as its more geographicaly friendly to get to at short notice.

Meanwhile I want Dulwich to win because a) I like them and b) I don't want our game at Macc on Saturday postponed.

A win is absolutely mandatory tonight, no other result is acceptable.

No more injuries ... no more injuries ... no more injuries ... no more injuries...
Seriously, I hate playing Barrow because they just kick the living daylights out of their opposition. Can't wait to see the back of them. Probably a drab 0-0 tonight.

Paul coxs team talk is already written after what happened in the trophy and at holker st last season. He will probably tell the barrow players how tranmere must think they are shit and get out there and show them just how good you are.

On the other hand if we score early i think barrows confidence will be as fragile as hell.

I think it will be a belter this with plenty of goals. Glad harrisons not playing hes class.

Only 4 subs for barrow tonight they are depleted

Paul Cox's team talk is always written.

"Knock it long to the big lad. If they get in your way kick em."
