Oh I would never wish to see a major injury on a player. However, what I will say is that over the course of the season it is highly unlikely that Tshimanga will pick up a few red cards and/or minor niggly injures that will in no way affect his career.
In the same spirit, I sincerely hope Mr McAtee returns very soon, and with gusto and herewith remains trouble free for the rest of your title challenge.

Parkinson will get November to improve things, if he fails to do so then he'll be gone.

Anything but maximum points from the next 3 games (Aldershot, King's Lynn & Wealdstone) will be completely unacceptable. He's under serious pressure.

I reckon we should go after Dave Challinor, he'd jump at the chance to manage here for £30k per week.
He's a successful manager, they all need a couple of transfer windows.
Hurst had half of last season as did Rowe, Burchnall, Woodford and Wild.
So did Rusk of course but his CV was thin and his appointment a gamble.

Sounds like it was something homophobic, by the sounds of it, it was one of those that in some parts of society is still accepted as ‘banter’. Not saying it’s acceptable but it sounds more idiotic language than something deeper.
You very much are saying it’s acceptable.

Yeah but we've gone backwards from last season. I can totally understand why some want him gone. The brand of football is dire and this set of players should be getting results, it just isn't working out.

Without Mullin we'd probably be in or around the bottom 3.

So I believe Altrincham have been compelled by the league to fulfil their last two fixtures, even though there are a number of COVID isolaters.

So does this mean COVID can no longer be used as a postponement reason?

I read that a few were missing from the Solihull game because they’d been in contact with a member of the back room staff who tested positive. Which presumably meant they weren’t double jabbed.

Hype and expectation can crush people.
It's going to take the owners to take the pressure off everyone by re-stating that it's a long term commitment which isn't all pivoted on going up this year.
A little less pressure, win your games in hand and you're right back in it.

I know what you mean, but it won’t stop if it’s treated as idiotic language rather than what it is. Actions of both sets of players, the ref and GTFC very good on that front yesterday.
The new owners and CX, with the Mariners Trust, are making a huge effort to change the reputation of Grimsby fans. There was a small incident in the Osmond v Yeovil that resulted in the police coming in - this was referred to in the programme in the CXs piece. Basically it said if you want normal ko times and good away allocations don't act like twats locked in the 80's (perpetrator v Yeovil was one of those 50 something hooligan types apparently) except she didn't say quite like that naturally. They've also referred to some of the tinpot pitch invasion that have happened recently. I think we are picked on more than other clubs on ko times in particular, because all have dickheads - but the reputation maybe goes all the way back to the infamous Burton game and beyond. We are where we are - we have to clean up. Loads of parents and kids there yesterday - really good to see and we need to go the extra mile on this at the moment.

I dont completely agree here.

Is the football good? no. Is it worse than last year? also no.

As for going backwards from last season, the stats don't back that up either.

We can't be getting rid of managers after 12 games. He gets the season and if he doesn't sort it out we look elsewhere in the summer.

Had a bit of time to reflect and think yesterday, whilst annoying, isn’t the end of the world.

If Notts are the challenge then I’m comfortable with how the season is going given we’d almost certainly have won that 2/3-0 without injuries. Proper sucker punch at the end but it’s only a point we’ve lost in reality.

We’ve still fucked up by not getting in reasonable backup and thinking LJL was the answer but we’re second in the league which is miles better than we thought.

McAtee out for a month so we really need to get somebody in, he’s absolutely vital
I didn't realise so much was at stake yesterday but I gather from the way Notts celebrated their goal they have secured a play off place as a result. :dk:

I agree that 14 (including FA Cup) games in is too early to be sacking is manager, but from what Rob said in the fans forum, Parkinson won't get the season if results don't improve. I'll be very disappointed if he's given the season if we are still struggling to get into the playoffs in the next calendar year.

I think he's given November, by which time he'd have been given 18 games in the league, to improve things. Beyond that, we need to make our decision as any decision later than that to sack the manager will not see us improve things this season. Any new manager needs at least a month to assess the side before the transfer window.

Well after reviewing the footage Carline clearly committed the foul...

He was also in a fatal car crash I believe?

Was it the one at the end where the Barnet player kept holding Jordan's shirt from a corner? If it's that one, the referee completely bottled it
I wouldn’t have banked on us to score it, and even if we had, it would have only ruled out the perfectly good goal Barnet scored just before half time that the lino inexplicably thought was offside.

Yes, I get that they had to isolate. What I'm less clear on is how you get a game off with COVID now? I see they have been off elsewhere, we've been called off for COVID this season.

Have the league now had it with the non-jabbed?

Highly possible but I dont think the league wanted the TV game v Solihull to be off

If we'd have lost there'd have been a 10pt gap between us. You can't win anything in October but you can be too far behind to win things.
Not that your lot weren't jizzing all over the place when you beat us of course.

Not really, that's an entire season against 12 games. You are comparing apples and oranges.

After 12 games last season we had the same amount of points as we have at the moment, but had lost more games and scored fewer goals. If you compare the fixtures we've played against their equivalent last season we are about 50% up in points.

Its not been brilliant and im sure we all hoped to be in a stronger position but People need to stop panicking.

EDIT: to actually back up what I said above.

In the 10 games (not including Grimsby and Southend) weve played we have got 16 points (F 14 A 10). In the same fixtures last season we got 10 points ( F10 A9).

We improved last years points return in 5 fixtures, got the same in 4 and did worse in one (Maidenhead where we drew 2-2 last season).

That's some decent stat finding, but the hard facts which are there for all to see are that we sit in the bottom half of the table, 13 points away from top spot and 7 off the playoffs.

I'm not saying sack Parkinson now, so I assume you're not describing me when you're talking about people who are panicking. I want to give him the 6 games in November, 4 of which should be straightforward wins. Our position might look a lot more rosy after that, in which case we should allow Parkinson the chance to make signings in January. If our form hasn't improved, his position should be considered. I think that's fair and does not imply panic.

Your suggestion to assess his position after the January window does not sit right with me. By then, no manager can make any additions to the team and we are essentially resigning to the fact we won't do anything this season and are just preparing for the following season. Given the amount of money we have at our disposal, that's just not good enough.
