Big game at The Racecourse next week. It must be many years since there was a Wrexham-Tranmere match with so much riding on it for both clubs.

We have gained ten points on Wrexham since mid-November, so I would take a draw. If we escape without defeat, we can hopefully edge past them in the weeks ahead.

Getting frustrating but guess its what happens when you are fighting for promotion and its up to us to find a way through. Cant remember the last time the opposition keeper didnt get booked for time wasting at the Rec!

Boxing Day... that would have required us to have something to hold on to though.

2 of last 3 games have been against a poor Solihull team and the only team on an equally bad run as us - Maidstone. Still couldn’t win either.

2 wins in 20 now. We won’t win another game all season.

No chance.
We haven't won in 11 league games, our top scorer is now in League 1 (and has already scored), our 2nd top scorer is in League 2, our best player in December is in League 2, our best defender is injured, our best remaining striker is injured, and we keep on playing route 1 football despite having nobody to lump it up to. Our only hope is that Solihull and Chester don't improve enough and Woking tail off just as badly or it's back down the plughole for us.

I don't see you coming to us and winning, we haven't lost at home since the opening day of the season. I think it's a nailed-on draw which both sides would be reasonably happy with.

There's not a worse team in this league than us, probably with the exception of Torquay. So one of the 4 spots will be us.

We were rubbish today, really wish Bignot would just play players in their proper positions. Only positive was a young 18yo Blacon youth team lad coming on and looking quite damn good. Will probably start on Tuesday now.

Tribute to big Cyrille Regis was the other highlight, completely privileged to have seen him play for us.

I was completely privileged to see him play for you as well; at Brisbane Road in 1996 or thereabouts. Quite simply the best individual performance I’ve ever seen in the flesh, and richly rewarded with a standing ovation from all four sides of the ground (for perspective the only other time I’ve ever seen that level of reception for an opposition player was when we hosted Andy Booth’s final career game).

Partly because of that Chester game, partly because of his relationship with Laurie Cunningham and partly, I think, because of Orient’s pioneering stance on bringing black players into the professional game - John Chiedozie, Tunji Banjo, Henry Hughton, Kevin Godfrey, Bobby Fisher and more - there has been a quiet outpouring of grief in our little corner of London. It’s only a month or so ago that Cyrille was in E10 chatting happily to Os fans at the unveiling of our Laurie Cunningham memorial statue. Heartbreaking.

RIP Cyrille. A big man up front, but giant of a man off the pitch.

I think we'll be ok but a big hole in our squad is defensive midfield. Prestedge can't be faulted for effort but I don't think I've ever seen a slower midfielder. The way we often play with wingers/wide forwards means the DM needs to be able to cover the full backs and he just can't do enough to help Lewis with that. Maybe having Paxman back in the squad will mean Reason will drop deeper.

Whilst I won't disagree you're awful at the moment, there are definitely four worse sides, at least.

None of what’s currently going at our football club is a surprise to me. So desperately sad to see what’s happened to it.

Only just felt like coming on here after yesterday's disgraceful capitulation v Gateshead. We're so poor, this league is so poor. If this league was as strong as it was when Hyde finished bottom we'd be lucky to have 6 points at this stage. I'm afraid the Grimsby fans were right about Bignot. On a par with McCarthy for cluelessness. We made Gateshead look like Man City yesterday and they hadn't won since November. Also talk that the players haven't been paid and that MB is bullying the younger players. One of our academy graduates came on yesterday for half an hour and he was man of the match. Some talk also about bringing Billy Heath in at the end of the season, but why would he want to come to a shambles like us. Hartlepool fans you've got the best possible fixture to kick start your season on Tuesday. At least I've just listened to us winning a series against Oz.

I highly doubt we will set up for a draw. We will try and control the game however, so if you sit back all game then that may result in a draw.

That is the route I expect you’ll go though given our prolific form infront of goal. Something like 25 goals last 10 games.

I mean, right back at yer, we're awful, truly awful, 1 win in 14 and that was against an injury depleted Halifax side. If you score first it's game over, we have no fight at all.

The main question mark against Wrecsam’s promotion prospects was a lack of fire-power. Maybe Quigley’s arrival has fixed that.

Anything could happen in next weekend’s meeting. Think a narrow home win the most likely outcome.

We did a job on ourselves like we do every home game. Plenty of possession, no chances, criminal defensive errors, 7th home defeat of the season. It's like that every fucking week and that's why we're going down.

Before I say something that'll make me look like a dick, I'll request politely for Craig Harrison to just fuck off now. Please.

This season is just a humiliation.

Do not worry! Your season is about to start on Tuesday. We've won 3 home games out of the last 30.

Congrats to Macc on surpassing our terrible effort at Fylde... They're definitely going to be one to watch for the rest of the season though, especially with their attempt to sabotage our bid by loaning us their distinctly average back up keeper, who was at fault for both goals. We were ok today, some good stuff, some average.

Don't understand this. We are easily one of the worst 3 teams in the league and got a creditable 1-1 there 10 days ago.

We will get another striker in by end of the month too, Keates has said all along that he wants 4 in the squad. We only have Holroyd, Boden and Quigley at present. Quigley appears to be the straight through the middle striker we've lacked. Boden is more of a link man and Holroyd plays wide a fair bit. I reckon it'll be 0-0.

Good time for us to be playing Torquay next week hopefully to get back on track whilst one/both of Wrexham/Tranmere will be dropping points.

I ticked off Farsley Celtic yesterday as they beat Buxton 3-0 who were crap. I can't wait to be playing that far down in a few years.

I also saw GuiseleySteve without knowing who he was, I was expecting to see Mowgli, but instead recognised the picture of the dog he put up in this thread, as I saw said dog standing behind the goal with his owner, who must've been Steve o_O

We sometimes moan about refs in this league but how poor was he yesterday! The football wasn't much better to be honest. The pup playing with the chocolate lab was the highlight of my afternoon.
Lots more snow here overnight, it needs to do one now.

We really are a right shambles at the moment.

This team has no bottle whatsoever, we constantly throw away leads, cant defend to save our lives, certain players always making the same mistakes & don't even get me started on Delano Sam Yorke (Lincoln & Woking fans were completely right about him).......we may only need another 12-13 points for safety, but im really struggling to see where they will come from.

50/1 on us going down is actually starting to look rather tempting.
Has he been sent off for violent conduct yet?

Trouble is we don't score first at home, and then it is game over for us. We are prime relegation candidates because psychologically we look like a team of shell-shocked World War 1 soldiers. Bignot doesn't look like the answer, might as well have kept McCarthy and saved some money.

Got exactly what I thought from our trip to Sutton. We barely laid a glove on them until it was too late. Our season is unraveling is spectacular fashion. I can see this being Still's last season with us, I think he might walk at the end of it if we don't make the play offs.

6 points is a must from the next two games or its season over as a tough few games just after that.
