Eddie Howe left us and returned to Bournemouth predominantly for family reasons. Not sure if he'd fancy another move back up north.

Funny how when we approached Klopp, we get laughed at, yet when Everton approach Mourinho, it's good on them.

Well, I wouldn't know. I suspect it's about the owners, which is fair since obviously we know Evertons new owners will be excellent.

Which won't happen. You should have taken Kirkby when you had the chance and left the City to the proper Liverpool team.

Kirkby would have been disastrous there just wouldn't have been the capacity re transport to handle the amount of people necessary. I hope they go for the dock again, Peel own the land unfortunately but I don't see why a new stadium couldn't kickstart the Liverpool waters development that we desperately need to happen.

They should've had the Kings Dock 15 years ago, so it's easy to be sceptical about their ability to get a waterfront stadium off the ground, especially with Peel being hardly set on it. But the development needs to be sped up so it's an option they should actually pursue properly this time.

The guy who has bought 49% of Everton is worth less than £1.4b. Now, I realise that's a lot, but in comparison to owners like Mansour and even Abramovich, it's small fry. Think more Randy Lerner territory. The Everton fans that expect money to be growing on trees around Goodison are in for a bit of a shock I expect. Especially if they think it will equate to a new 50,000+ seater stadium to be built on tap.

Bill, if you are interviewing Pellegrini then give him the job and stop faffing around. It may be the last thing you do for Everton, make it count.

Pellegrini would be a good catch, If I were a blueshite he'd be my preferred option of the names mentioned so far, including de Boer.

Agreed. Good manager. Reputation seems to have taken a hit at City but was excellent at Villarreal and Malaga.

Now the Geordies have gone down, Everton, without doubt take the crown of most delusional club in the league.

It's time to bring Rooney home apparently.
Rooney's return while still in his pomp; arguably never better in his mature transition to central midfield, would grab the attention of the world.

If there was, in the end, a degree of wishful thinking about Everton being able to attract the Old Trafford-bound Jose Mourinho as their new manager, isn't the idea of taking Rooney in the opposite direction still a bit fanciful?

Not really. That spirit of ambition, the insistence that Everton are one of England's biggest clubs still, is nothing to be mocked.

I really can't see him being prepared to take a £200k a week pay cut anyway.

I'd hate Rooney back at Goodison. Think he's gonna stay at Utd anyway seeing as Mourinho wanted to buy him a couple of years ago

Koeman would be mad to move to Everton. A sideways move at best and arguably not even that.
