Mo Eisa has just gone to Bristol City for £1.5m (£1m up front and £500k in add-ons if rumours are to be believed).

He's two years younger and scored more goals than Doidge last season (though I believe he played more games).

L2 forwards/attacking mids that went for big money also include Nick Powell £3-4 million (could've potentially made £6 million for him if all add ons were met) and Jon Stead who left Huddersfield for Blackburn years ago for £1.2 million when Huddersfield were at this level.

Pretty sure Huddersfield haven’t been at this level since the early 80’s and Stead’s old but not THAT old! ;)

In our 2002-03 promotion season from League One Huddersfield were relegated to this level. They hadn't a pot to piss in and I always remember that being the start of goalkeeper Scott Bevan's many awful games against the Alex during his career.

They beat Mansfield in the playoffs after only spending a season in the fourth tier. You passed them down during your back to back relegation years! That's probably why you don't remember them down here!

That's an outrageously premature and bold statement. Hasn't he played just 1 full season in League 2 throughout his career. I know Wiki isn't always the most accurate, but it suggests he scored 'just' 15 goals last season. Yeah you were shit, but still, hardly ground-breaking.

Phil Jevons (27), Karl Hawley (23), Richard Barker (21), Izale McLeod (21), Aaron Maclean (29), Grant Holt (20), Jack Lester (20), Lee Hughes (30), Clayton Donaldson (28), Top Pope (31), Sam Winnall (23), Matt Tubbs (21), Matty Taylor (27), John Marquis (26), Mark McNulty (25), Billy Kee (25).

Just a selection of players who've bagged much more than 15 goals in a single L2 season.

He may well be a good player for this level, but it's ridiculously premature to label him one of the best to ever play this level.

Michael Bridges was arguably better than Hawley that season they smashed it at Carlisle. Looked like an absolute Rolls Royce of a player at this level in 05/06. Andre Gray and Rickie Lambert surely worth shouts, too?

03/04ish they were down here. They went up when we came down, possibly?

Yeah we relegated Huddersfield beating them 5-1 to this level, revenge for them ending our Championship spell a couple of years before... before they sent us down here in 2008 (all be it that time with a draw) they were dreadful at the time.

Big Jon Parkin was better than Doidge at this level, and went on to much better things at some pretty big clubs.

Andre Gray never played at this level unfortunately!

We had a goal unfairly disallowed before the penalties when we only score one of them! Liam Lawerence with his ridiculous chip.

The greatest Stags performance I have ever seen was a few weeks earlier in a league game at Huddersfield, it was called the Mcalpine Stadium at the time I think - 20,000 in attendance and we completely destroyed them 4-1, ironically Lawerence alongside Lee Williamson ran riot, good times.

Liam Lawerence didn’t go for much I don’t think due to Haslam being dodgey and pocketing all the money, but he’s got to be one of the best L2 player in recent times, he ended up being a established premier league player.

Parky's a real favourite down here, still comes along to support us every now and then when he isn't playing.

Chris showing his FL inexperience with a dodgy (or is that Doidgy...?) statement like that.

Jamie Forrester is another to add to the list. Maybe didn't score as many as others, but he was an outstanding player. Davide Somma, albeit on loan from Leeds at the time.

They beat us in the PO semi (surprise, surprise...) that season. Andy Booth dived for a second half penalty that won them the game.

A brilliant sell-out atmosphere, 3.5k Imps there. They won the first leg 2-1 with Iffy Onuora scoring.

Speaking of the league game, we had this decisoin go against us in the league game (video starts at 22 seconds).

I saw Davide Somma play for both QPR and Leeds against us. Shame those knee injuries wrecked his career, was quality for a bit especially at Lincoln.

Why do people think Doidge doesn't eat meat? Bizarre.

I think Colin Larkin scored in the final for us but it was disallowed (wrongly) for the ball going out of play.

We must of had 2k there in that league game, we were a ridiculously good attacking team back then, that final defeat was the start of our fall to non-league and ownership issues.

Two loan signings made today - Kelsey Mooney (Tommy's son) on loan from Aston Villa. A 19 year old striker. We've also signed Tom Field on loan from Brentford at left-back.

That'll be it for incomings, now expecting a few to go out on loan.

My favourite memory of that season was Shane Duff scoring a winner 5 mins from time to beat Huddersfield on the last day of the season which put them into the playoffs. Torquay went up and invited Shane onto their open top bus parade.

Not surprised, your squad is looking pretty big atm.

Aren't ALL players who play for FGR Vegans? Come on Chris , that's the stereotypical view of nearly all football fans. Don't spoil the fun! :bg:

We’ve signed Rob Milsom, who we released in the summer, back on loan from Crawley before a permanent in January. :bl:
