Can't see us winning away from home. Probably be a draw.

Gut feeling score draw, we normally always start off slow and work ourselves into the game, concede sloppy goals is our main problem, but we know we can score enough with Taylor up top.

We usually start playing when we go one down, 2-2 Taylor and Harrison

This should be interesting, reading the Vale's fans comments, we sound like the exact same team, albeit they're probably better.

Fancy a 2-2 draw here or a 3-2 win for us. We're a few unbeaten and on a high after Swindon. Don't forget that by the laws of physics, Lines and Moore will also have the best game of their lives today. I can't see us losing this one

Neither side bothers doing anything until at least an hour in so it may be 1-0 either way with the goal coming late.

Out away games so far:

Bradford - went for a 0-0 and got one.
Swindon - created loads at the end of the first half but got sucker punched at the start of the second. Did enough to get a point but lost.
Bury - got outplayed in awful conditions.
P'boro - huge push in the final 15 mins to get a deserved point.

I'd like to see how we react if we take an early lead and manage to hold onto it for 15/20 mins and get settled. Vale fans on the whole are waxing lyrical about this side even though the stats/shot data suggests we're edging tight matches. Rovers look as though they've been competitive in all matches. Hoping to get our first away win here but there'll be far better opportunities.

No Foley which is a blow although Perreira has been decent in his cameos!

Expect nothing but a Rovers win regardless of no Taylor. Disappointed with anything less considering Vales away from and our ever so strong home form the past two seasons.

Annoying time to concede, hopefully we keep up our usual tact of being better second half than the first.

Sounds a decent game again. Bit disappointing to concede just before half time but will take us being level at half time.

I wouldn't sounds like we've been fairly comfy since going ahead and if we want to challenge need to be seeing that out until half time.

Need to pick ourselves up now and try and get ahead again.

Byron Moore wins them the penalty and sounds like he is giving us the run around. Almost exactly like when he was at Crewe. Really need to see this period out as they are dominating now.

Poor result from our point of view especially after leading but we just can't sort this away form out. Really expected us to get something today after recent weeks but typical Vale.

Huge game Tuesday now.

So fucked off.

We deserved a point out of this and we're in control of the game until we conceded at the worst possible time in a game of football. 2nd half they battered us for 20 minutes and fully deserved their 2nd, which turned out to be the winner. We'll hammer Bristol Rovers at home, of that I have absolutely no doubt as long as we play near to our best, but we're not going to do anything this season with this shocking away form.

We badly need another striker, even though Patersen did manage to score today. Him starting up front and Cicilia coming off the bench is just bang average.

Jones should be pushed up top! It's annoying as we are really poor away! I'd wear the third kit too as every time we've lost we've been in the yellow!

If we want to do anything we need to be improving away from home fast otherwise a repeat of last seasons 'what if' story.

It was wank. They're not good, not at all. I mean they're not going to go down or anything, but for any side with promotion in mind you should be winning there, especially when going a goal up. Let's not forget that they had arguably their best player out too up front.

Tavares needs dropping. Just hasn't been the same since his recent injury and is still adapting to the pace of the game here. Prefer Amoros myself.

And pretty obvious you're talking shit somewhat. The league table never lies, you aren't a team that can play in 2nd gear and win games. We were absolutely toss in comparison to how we generally play at home, and yet I felt we could have so easily come away with a point.
Because you watch Rovers week in, week out right? Thought not.

We have been a team that can and has played in 2nd gear over the past two years and won. All I'm saying is we could have took it up another notch, but we didn't need too.

9 games in and he's genuinely used "The league table never lies", ffs.

To be fair we've been in reverse gear away from home. Don't know how we will get on at home against them until it comes round although I'd expect three points with our far superior performances at VP but a pointless argument.

We know our Achilles heel and we need to sort it, to be leading against a newly promoted side home or away if we want to be top six we shouldn't be losing and we need to address the away woes ASAP.

Fair enough. If you played in 2nd gear then I'll insist that we never really got out of 1st. Had we played how we did in the 2nd half again Gillingham last weekend we'd have scored 3 or 4, as Gillingham are a better side than you in my opinion.

Truth is you were bang average on the day which say's a lot for our own performance considering we lost the game, and got battered for some of the 2nd half. Without that goal on the stroke of half-time it's probably a much different game with a different result, but these things happen and we only have ourselves to blame.

We will win every game at home because our hostile 5000 fans always influence the refs (well according to the greatest League 1 manager we have ever seen anyway)

The Den will be like a Lawn Bowling Green to those Wall boys on Tuesday in the Ali Smurfy Yen. :bg:

After a very even first half, it has to be said we dominated the second half and we're very worth the victory. This without our top goalscorer and possibly best player and without playing particularly well ourselves. Good win and first back to back wins this season. We had an odd start to the season but now finally look like we can start moving. Didn't see Vale as a playoff side on that showing, but seemingly they show better form at home seeing as "they would bend us over there".

One thing I will say though is we have to stop giving sides a one nil head start which seems to be our common practice at the moment, but apart from that a good start seeing as we are newly promoted and haven't even hit full stride yet

Also, great to see that washed up CM Chris Lines play well and the useless Byron Moore win the penno when he came on

Wow, the vale fan who's mainly commented on here has one of the oddest views on the game I've seen on this forum and that's saying a lot.

To be fair at home we are on 5 wins from 5 including crushing the league leaders but away we just can't find the right formula (same as last year to be fair). May be partly down to the massive size of our pitch which suits our more technical foreign players and wingers like Thomas or we are more nervous away from home. Need to find a system that works away.

Foley missing was a blow and hope he's not out too long, he's pretty much assisted the majority of our goals.

Lines was average for us in the main but I personally liked him. Byron is very much a 1 half in every three or four games type player (in the past usually against us for Crewe) although after his personal tragedy on the day of signing for us moving away from the area may help him.

Most Vale fans would say that Lines wasn't a bad player for us but he was definitely a massive tosser.
As for Moore we never got to see anything like his best because his personal life had to take precedence over his career right at the start of his time with Vale and he never recovered from it during his time with us

Chill guys, well done on the three points Rovers, we've clearly not performed to our best and got what we've deserved and it's up to us to bounce back.

Foley is better than Lines of course and we missed him badly today but Lines didn't work out and moved back where his roots are (like Pope being far better for us than anywhere else).

Moore has been a complete testicle of Twitter and got slaughtered for it considering the support he had at VP after the issues he had. Classless, unlike Lines tonight.

Jesus Christ why did Tavares do that for the penalty! Pointless foul there!
