I think it just says how bad we are when we throw away a 2-0 lead and we are all very happy with a point. At 2-0 we all thought we’d still lose so not a bad point.

You can only get 5 loan players in and even that needs to be done sharpish...otherwise you have to wait until the January transfer window to buy the sort of players that could make a challenge.
i’m confidant that the inherent squad has the potential to attain a play off place...no knee jerk panic for loans to come in....injury’s apart...there’s enough talent in depth....
It’s the manager utilising said squad which will make the difference

A superb result today considering we were favourites to get stuffed by Bradford this afternoon :woo:There were signs at Plymouth that we'd win a game soon. :D

Piss poor from us today, if Coventry had a decent striker they would have won the game comfortably, take a point after playing so badly

3rd game in a row in which we've basically played 4-2-4, and the 3rd game in a row we've been dominated in midfield. Should've lost all three, but Cov are shite up front. Really can't see what Lovell is thinking playing that formation game after game, considering the opening two wins happened playing 4-3-3. Also, exactly the same side as wednesday night, when Cov had a day's extra rest over us is bordering on stupid. Take that point and run.

Much better 2nd half but we do like to make things a struggle for oursleves. When we got it to 1-1 I thought we would win with some comfort but that 2nd goal.... wow. Recommend everyone watching and having a good laugh at it! Poor old Shea!

Luckily we scored very shortly afterward and with the penalty should have been more comfortable.

Think today's scoreline flattered Shrewsbury today if I'm honest, but first half we were lacklustre and lacking intensity that we need at home. But Shrewsbury created very little and really their penalty came from their first real foray into our penalty area. Shrewsbury created very little throughout the game - the

Second half, Jonesy tweaked the formation slightly - seemingly going for a flat 4-4-2 rather than the midfield diamond which was preventing us breaking them down.

The goal from Jorge Grant was wonderful and a contender for goal of the day - that must be our first direct free kick goal in 18 months(?)

Then Shrewsbury took the lead. It appeared that the referee had given a foul and then given advantage - an indirect free kick with his arm raised. But I didn't think there was a foul and obviously no whistle. Shea rolled the ball out and Angol took it round him for a simple finish. Goal stood.

Luton then took it up another gear; scoring twice in 3 minutes. Stacey beat the keeper at his near post, before Elliot Lee scored a deflected free kick through the wall, from virtually the same place as Grant's, to put Luton into the lead for the first time. Collins then had a penalty to completely put the game to bed, but like his last one, he missed. A 2-goal victory would've been about right IMO.

Our game against Wycombe shows what happens when you appoint a failing u18's manager as head coach.

Fair play to them though, what we'd give for a manager like Ainsworth.

Just to make everything even worse for us, our keeper Rory Watson has broken his arm. Things just keep going from bad to worse for us.

We keep getting lucky but I'll take it. Our lack of answer to any player above 6 foot will haunt us a few times this season.

What planet is that ref on.A totally shocking decision to not award a penalty. If that ref thinks that is not a penalty he should give up being a ref as of now !!!!

Admittedly from the highlights but Sunderland get a tonking there if the goal is a foot higher. Def pen but only themselves to blame for a ton of missed chances

A game of two halves. Poor and lacking ideas in the first half against a team who sat back and played deep. A poor penalty and suddenly we looked on the way to another defeat. Always had the feeling we would up our game second half though and so we did. An extraordinary 45 minutes with incidents galore. To come back twice from behind shows our determination and will to win. In the end a 4th wouldn't have flattered us but Collins tame penalty was comfortably saved. The big talking point is Shrewsburys second goal. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Shea putting the ball down for a free kick right next to Angol. No whistle had been blown and Angol said thanks very much. A remarkable error and luckily for Shea his teammates got him out of jail. Thought Pelly, Stacey and Lee were our top three players today. Shrewsbury might have a few problems this season with their very defensive approach to the game. Inviting teams to attack in the hope of countering is a dangerous game to play. Backfired second half and it could have been embarrassing had we played with the same tempo first half. Happy with 7 points from the opening games and more importantly we seem to have adapted well to the next level. Think we can also improve.

Shea has ballsed up but really don’t think it’s necessary for Jones to go in on him like that to the press. He’s absolutely thrown both our keepers under the bus already this season, not really on IMO

I hate it when this happens and unfortunately it seems to happen to all the big teams that end up down here who keep getting lucky with refereeing decisions

Going to be the story of our season. Dominate matches, make loads of chances, can't score more than one, get sucker punched.

What did Stech do wrong again?

As for the Angol goal, even he’s confused about the situation. Wouldn’t the sensible thing have been for the referee just to stop the game then? (Maybe not, just putting it out there)

Didn’t go the game yesterday but very happy with 3 points at a place we never win at. Tom Hopper is going to score 20+ this season

He’s hasn’t looked confident for a good while but don’t think Jones helps really digging out his keepers in the press.

On another note, I see Hylton has picked up another small knock. Becoming an all too regular occurrence now. He hasnt been himself since about February because of these knocks, especially too his hamstrings.

It is a bit weird for Jones to lay into both keepers so quickly. He was super loyal last season to both. Took an age to drop Stech - even then under the guise of him having a kid - and then play d Shea rest if season. Now they each get both barrels for one game.

Perhaps he's evening it up for the Stech hammering? Be interesting who plays in next game.

I’m thinking we could be in the market for another goalkeeper, which would be the wrong move imo.

I think both keepers have their qualities and are capable of match winning performances,I would question the coaching on the training side as both are more than capable of match losing performances due to the inability of doing the most simplest things correctly..expected of a keeper at this level.

Yesterday’s home loss to Wycombe was up there with one of the worse performances I’ve seen in my twenty odd years watching. I’ve written before that the new management set up had to start well or the fans will quickly turn, well things are looking dreadful and bar about 30 mins in the first game we’ve been consistently poor in all our games in all aspects from selection to tactics to endeavour. Worrying times given all our fears at the new appointment are playing out.
