Big couple of weeks ahead in the title race. Harroagate go to Nuneaton on Tuesday and a win will see them top before Salford go to Darlo for a tasty game a day later. The two then play each other on January 20th.

3 much needed points to say the least for us. Up to 17th. Need favours from Salford and Harrogate now before a massive game at home to Darlo on Saturday.

Shite again today. WE JUST CANT FUCKING SCORE. We're the second lowest scorers in the league in front of Ferriby, with only 26 goals. It's a bloody good job our defence is solid, as we have the joint best defensive record. Khius Metz went off injured after coming on as a sub for an injured player and I assume has gone back to Burnley as we have brought in another loan striker from chesterfield called Delial Brewster. We need a proven goalscorer at this level, not loanees who are hit and miss. Pretty much every team in this league has a proven goalscorer, but not us. We used to have a deadly front 3 of James Dean, Josh Hine and Darren Stevenson. Darren was crap in my opinion, but at least he put the ball in the back of the net. We now have Carver, Walker and Hughes (who is now injured). Carver is just awful, walker is a very clever player but just cannot manage a goal at the minute and Matty Hughes isn't the best either. Something has to change and with 2 tough games against kiddy and Curzon coming up, we look like a team who are fighting relegation, not a team who were just 120 minutes away from promotion last year.

Surprised to hear that CFC. I thought Matty Hughes would of been an excellent signing for you. Rapid winger that works his socks off

I think its looking a very strong bet for a 1-1 draw next week CFC4Life we have the same problems as yourself, we struggle to hit the ball into net, but we don't conceed many, only difference is you seem to go for scoring none or conceeding none, while we go with scoring one and conceeding one.

Not seen enough of him really, might be the fact that he doesn't score many and we need a goalscorer, he's certainly better than carver

We really need to win it. Only 1 win in the last 9 games and that was vs NFU. People don't notice us as a possible bottom 3 as not losing many, but drawing too many can be as much of a killer and sometimes being able to win one week and lose next is better for points......got caught by Boston and FCUM who were miles behind as we don't win currently.

but as i say expect a draw which probably won't suit either side, we just need to find another Adam Morgan/Matty warburton and we'd quickly push on as rest of side is fine, but well...........no cash to do so.

I also have to mention in here.............over 5,000 today at Stockport Vs Salford...........only 400 from Salford before people think they are getting the praise.

that is a ridiculous crowd for this level.

We haven't had a proven goal scoring striker for the last 6 years! Midfielders normally top our scoring chart. Then this year got Aaron Williams on loan from Newport, and after getting his confidence, he was brilliant. Sadly gone back to Newport now, and despite having another 4 strikers on the books, I don't think our manager or fans trust any of them. Will cost us points...

Chorley v us a banker for 0-0. We can't score against solid defences and if what CFC4LIFE is saying is correct they probably won't score against us then.

Didn't think NFU's GF and GA columns could get worse than last season but they're managing it.

Since they got promoted from the NLN, they've played 71, only scored 42 and conceded 145!

Very honest interview from Gainsborough's manager today, would never see that at our place. In other news, our fans have begun to slag off Nick Haughton, absolutely dumbfounded by this. Yet they still treat carver like a god!

They must have short memories if they are giving it large over Nick Haughton, from what I've seen of him playing for you guys and Salford. He's a quality player for this level. I wish we had him on loan for the rest of the season.

I know. Not getting carried away at all. Must build on this next week v Darlo. The players need to want to feel that winning feeling again. Its a start.

How big is this game now!!! Absolute massive for us on Saturday, especially when, that we'll no doubt lose to Salford on Wednesday night.
It's all gone Pete Tong this season. May the best team win DSL :)

Another bad day at the office for TW, not sure how long he has in his office like :pond:
I've come to the conclusion I don't think we want to win any more games? Everybody is like Santa Claus in our defense we just keep giving gifts away week in and week out.

All we need to do now is play like we did at Gainsborough next Saturday against Alfreton and further down the line at Leamington.
That could just put us second from bottom, unless by some miracle we sign 2 or 3 players to bolster the team, I can't see a way out of this mess we have got ourselves in.

But I suppose at the end of the day who do we blame? Players or the management? I just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. We are beginning to look like relegation contenders.

Exactly, I think we are the only fanbase that would slag him off in the whole league, they don't realise how lucky we are to have such a talented player.

Update on the situation at Alfreton - Didnt go yesterday but heard there were very strong rumours before kick off that a defeat was curtains for John with an able replacement ready and waiting in the wings. If that is true then we should sack him now and get the new replacement in.
Have a good idea of the replacement is said to be. think it would be an ok appointment but not sure about it long term.

Also I think it would be good to give the new man the bonus of the County Cup game (if it goes ahead) in midweek to bed in to the role before as Darlo on tour says above a absolutely huge 6 pointer with Darlo!

REFLECTIONS: Alfreton actually WANTED to win yesterday. That was the key difference to previous weeks.
Mentality was key yesterday. Nothing to gain but all to lose. Reds usually play best against top sides but dug in (especially 1st half). Did they play for the gaffers job? I don't know, but if they wanted him gone they could've thrown it away..
Regarding John McDermott at Alfreton, I had heard prior to kick off if the Reds didn't win, he was out and a replacement was waiting in the wings. IF that's true, the result delays that by a week. IF.

You’ve just signed Pierce Bird on loan from us, teenage centre back.

Really hope he does well, one of those feel good meteoric rise stories you got every now and then. Was playing for Dunkirk last season, quit his job in the summer just to have a trial with us, impressed enough in friendlies to get a deal. Has been out on loan at Leek Town and done well, came back and had a start in the EFL Trophy and made his league debut.

Think we’ve got pretty high hopes for him, so can hopefully deal with another step up.
Impressed on debut yesterday and managed to get on the score sheet too with a bullet header from a corner. Hasten to add though it was against extremely limited opposition in North Ferriby. But have heard very good things about him myself hopefully he can solidify our leaky defence!

One of the joys of Halifax's promotion was I thought B2TF, that you'd be too important with your real football club to lower yourself to contribute to a Nat North forum. Please feel free to stay in the Nat League forum and not bless us with your contributions down here in the tinpot community.

Salford are a dull lot. I've seen us play them four times now and not once have I heard a peep out of them. At least when the likes of Brackley bring their customary 7 fans to EP there's always some lone nutter trying get a song going.

Pulling in big crowds is bitter sweet really as it just reinforces the frustration of still not being one of the top sides in the division. We could pull in 10,000 a game and whatever weird voodoo hangs over our club would see us get relegated to the glue divisions. Bleugh.

7! Only if it's a sunny day.

Our growth as a club and its fan base over the 13 years I've been watching Brackley has been excellent - crowds up from around 200 to nearly 500 this year, and the club has a (very quiet) buzz to it. Not sure why so few fans go to away games - I guess that 'lifetime commitment' thing you need to be a hardcore fan just isn't here in Brackley yet / ever. The weird thing really is that we are in a league with clubs like Stockport and York. Back when I started watching, I remember being starstruck when big clubs like Kettering came for pre-season friendlies, and I'd go back to watch the odd Telford match for a 'proper non-league' game. Now here is little Brackley mixing it with some of the big names in the non-league and making a good job of it. Not sure why the extra financial muscle of the likes of Stockport can't pull them out of this division - but it is clear once your stuck in Nat North, it isn't easy to get out again. In 5 years time fully expect Stockport to be Nat League or Division One and Brackley looking forward to facing Swindon Supermarine again... but until then, am enjoying the ride.

On a separate note, only 418 Salford fans? Top of the league and a match on their doorstep against the biggest side in the league and they can only muster that? Tinpotters. :£
That's still four times what they traditionally get. For those fans, I hope they enjoy the ride. The rest of 'em can go #### themselves of course, since they won't be there once Salford become another NFU.

I do like to swan around in the gutters here once in a while, showing my ass off to the truckers like a high class drag queen in a pole dancing club. Wait, did I just say that out loud? :bdick::bdick::bdick:

Makes ye wonder how many exactly out of the 418 were actually from Salford? That figure is far too high.
Especially with Man Utd playing on Friday and the other half on Sunday?
