He didnt say anything to the ref. He called the lino "a fucking c***". The lino took offence, called the ref over and after a short chat promlty sent him off.
He never had control all afternoon quite frankly. Dissent is not a Red card for me. A refs job is to keep 11v11 on the field without very good reason. A yellow card and a strong word in the ear is quite sufficient punishment IMO.

I think most refs would send you off for using language like that against an official. However from where I was standing it looked like we should have been down to 10 for Jimmy Ball's challenge in the second half for which he only got a yellow.

Elsewhere what the hell happened to Chorley today?

They lost two defenders to injury in the first 10 minutes. The conditions weren't conducive to playing football, but we mastered them better and broke forward quickly when we could. I'd say we edged the game, but the scoreline flattered us a bit. Chorley are no mugs, they have just encountered us as we are starting to defend with a bit more organisation and commitment.

That today was some of the worst weather I’ve seen at a match and so so cold

Well theirs one thing for sure we haven't turned a corner, same old conversation coming back from a match. The defense was all at sea once again with poor man marking and Harrogate's players just striding through our defense. The first 2 goals were simply just embarrassing to watch, very frustrating game over.

Not a bad first half from the lads, we kept them at bay and restricted their chances considering the amount of possession they had.
But ours was very limited to a couple of shots towards the end of the first half from Wheatley and Syers. Second half we had a great chance from Syers to claw us back into the game with a snap shot, but just wasn't his day.

Overall can't complain about the result, they looked stronger and fitter all over the park. Well apart from Mark Beck. He had no chance against the up and coming (man of the match again) Josh Heaton! I wish we had another 2 of him in defense we wouldn't be in this mess.

No point in waving the finger at certain individual players, they must know by now who they are?
Harrogate fans were very quite even after going 2-nil up, I'm not sure whether they were bored? Interestingly no announcement from Harrogate to say how many Darlo made the trip?

Good luck Harrogate, slowly catching the Salford boys up.

Very impressive turn around of fortunes by FCUM - remarkable what a change of manager can do. How have they suddenly got so good?

Disappointing Christmas period for Brackley. Rarely seen a more one sided match at this level than us vs Leamington yesterday, but still only took a point. Our keeper made a howler, and then a series of epic blocks and a bit of good fortune kept us out. Thought Leamington would really struggle this year, but they've plenty of spirit and there are at least 3 worse teams in the league.

So overall with the mid term report - compared to 2 years ago when we survived on the last day, then this season is fab. But frustrating when we miss the opportunities to win - there is just something missing that is hard to identify - we defend well and score enough goals - but don't win enough matches. Even over the Christmas period we dominated both matches vs Leamington, and vs Telford, whilst were 1-0 up vs FCUM until the 85th minute. Win 3 out of those 4 matches, as we absolutely should, and we're joint top. It was important to do well in this period too, because the 1st and 3rd quarters of the season are favourable to us in terms of fixtures - we have a hard run in.

Had hoped for 2nd place - two 1 leg home playoff matches would be something I'd be feeling confident with, whoever we play. But whilst the playoffs feel a shoe-in, then not sure where we'll end up in them... Guess I'm getting greedy.

Finally - Saturday's games sees us with one of the easiest fixture of the top 7 (along with Blyth) - but will we take advantage?

Two victories against a wretched North Ferriby side was surely the minimum requirement, and we got them, but dearie me...I didn't see the away game as I couldn't be bothered with a repeat of last year's fiasco, but we looked far from convincing at home yesterday. Connolly had a good game and was my MOM, Pattison looked lively, and Parkin got his regulation two goals. Adriano Moke had one of his better games. But we still can't defend properly and made hard work of some awful opposition. We look like struggling to make the play-offs, and that would represent complete and abject failure for the third straight season. If we don't improve I could see us getting dragged in to the relegation scrap because we've looked awful and been well beaten against some of the sides down there already.

A word for yesterday's ref. Parkin gets felled in the act of shooting just outside the box, the ball ends up in the net anyway...but the ref gives us a free kick and sends off the NFU player for DOGSO! It can hardly be denial of a goal scoring opportunity if he scores, now can it. Surely you play the advantage and award us the goal.

The ref gets a special award of worst ever.
In first minute Pattison went through 1 on 1 and ref never even booked him.
Then same player brings down Parkin on goal and scores then gives York a free kick on edge of box and sends him off.seen kids football refs put in a better performance.

The other one, which I'd forgotten, was when the NFU full back played a back-pass which Gray attempted to intercept - and was flagged offside! Absolute horror show of an officiating performance, but then why expect them to be any more competent than the players?

The referees in this league should hang their heads in shame, week in and week out they get worse. We have been on the receiving end of some very dodgy decisions throughout this season.

Pistols at dawn on Saturday with increased security for Martin Gray. What a carry on asking fans to act "graciously and respectfully" towards other people and players with Darlington connections, during and after the game.

I know their's a lot of bad blood between fans and Gray and obviously he's gonna get some grief, but good lord can't lynch the poor guy. What's happened has happened simply move on we've got more important issues to worry about. Results!!!

It had been coming, apart from Salford in the last 1-2 months we've been shite, and it was a case of not taking chances and they did, had about 5 corners in the first 5 mins and didn't threaten. Had 2 early injuries but no excuse for that shithouse of a performance.

In other news, we've signed khius Metz on loan from Burnley. Apparently he's fast so that will satisfy the deluded fans who think carver is good because he's fast and runs around a lot.

So..its North Ferriby away for us tomorrow. As our match preview points out nothing but 3 points will do. When we inevitably dont win will our Chairman do the right thing and act? I fear not. So we will continue to feebly surrender our place in this league.

Some good news for all teams chasing the play-offs, except for Spennymoor, like. They are on the verge of signing Scott Harrison from us. If he somehow gets his game, it inevitably means they will drop out of the play-offs as every team will effectively start with a 1 goal advantage.

What's the rivalry like between FCUM and Salford? Didn't realise they were playing each other last weekend, so is it just a rivalry through location or a bit of needle because of the '92 lot?

There is some needle mostly based on location as both are very near each other, plus that Salford are trying to steal F.C. fan base.

I am interested in this Salford slump, their fans have been saying all season they have been poor, but still kept winning, is slump a start of results matching performances or just a blip

You’ve just signed Pierce Bird on loan from us, teenage centre back.

Really hope he does well, one of those feel good meteoric rise stories you got every now and then. Was playing for Dunkirk last season, quit his job in the summer just to have a trial with us, impressed enough in friendlies to get a deal. Has been out on loan at Leek Town and done well, came back and had a start in the EFL Trophy and made his league debut.

Think we’ve got pretty high hopes for him, so can hopefully deal with another step up.

Yeah. Good signing this. Impressive young defender. Scored both goals in the FA Youth Cup for Dunkirk against our academy last season and also scored for County I believe in pre season against us.

Unfortunately our manager is totally inept. Hope that doesnt affect the lad or his performances.

HT - North Ferriby 0-3 Alfreton.

Pierce Bird with the third on Debut. Ferriby have Bobby Johnson sent off too.

Its a start. But we must continue the momentum of this against Darlo,Leamington and Gainsborough

Not to dampen the mood but it is only North Ferriby. There is a reason they've won 1 game all season.

When in a relegation battle Harrier you have to beat anyone you can.

i started season having no sympathy for NFU due to the fact they bankrolled their way here anyhow, but i have to admit to feeling sorry for their fans now.......this season for their fans who stuck with them must be taking some effort to watch week in, week out.........fair play to them staying through it.

How on earth Blyth lost to them though i will never know

title race is amazonly looking wide open again if things stay as they are when it looked over a month ago. Harrogate and Brackley both winning and Salford losing again. only 1 point in last 12 for them currently has meant that 12 odd point gap has closed to just 3 points.
