This now is the time to get Miller on. Starting to see some signs of life from Vale at last.

Poor result really poor. Two absolute gifts giving them something to cling on to.

Another side in poor form gets a result. Huge huge problems and it’s looking bleak. That was massively winnable but the lads have put in a stinker when it mattered most.

Valiant effort from the 12 men.

If Tranmere don’t put a complaint in over that refereeing I’ll be amazed.

Apparently we’re out of the playoff picture? Doesn’t look that way looking at the table.

second half was an improvement but we just dont have enough goals in us to come back from 2 behind.

Morecambe and Cheltenham winning just makes it worse.

Not even sure can drum up the motivation to be annoyed by it. Incidentally motivation is something distinctly lacking also from this lot. Askey irritated me with his bringing on Whitfield for 5 minutes on Saturday and now he’s done it with Miller. Once again what on earth does he think can be achieved in that time realistically?

Must be some record now for consecutive home defeats now surely. Simply need to win at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Miller cost us a point to be fair shooting from that angle when he can tee up Monty for a tap in.

It was flat, two defensive errors giving them the goals and another side barely tests Brown but gets the three points. We are way to much of a soft touch and look shattered of any confidence.

Monty looked decent when he came on. We need Manny back ASAP. Our midfield is too lightweight without him.

We did our best to throw that one away. Also, I hate to jump on the ref bandwagon, but what on earth was he up to towards the end? Some very odd decisions. Overall, I think we deserved the win based on the first half, but the second was less convincing and we were hanging on at the end. Glad it finished when it did.

Tranmere only had 2 shots on target and scored from them both. Can't argue with the result though as again we can't defend.

Record now, 9 home games without a win since Bury... Mansfield up next at VP isn’t it? Based on tonight they’d smash us!

Probably was but if ever there was proof of the cliche about it evening out let’s not forget at your place we were robbed of one of the most blatant penalties you could ever imagine. And it hasn’t actually cost you.
The two footed lunge first half.

Pope diving a dozen times.

Your lads fouling each other and getting a bounce ball when we were 2v1 through on goal.

6 yellow cards without justification for any of them.

The ref was literally your twelfth man the entire game.

Good luck staying up though.

Cant deny the ref was poor, and some decisions were bizarre, but I cant see our owner paying for a twelth man

Ok il bite...

No justification in any of the yellows? Come on!!! Kicking the ball away is a yellow! (Monthe and the 11) Norwood got booked for mouthing off at the referee exactly the same punishment was given to Hannant.

Perkins wrestled Gibbons on the floor both booked correctly.

One at the end for shoving our player over off the pitch when the ball had gone.

Can’t complain for our yellows spot on.

Penalty well... we will call that evens as the one in injury time at your place was even more blantant than that... actually two incidents in one with the handball then the clothes line... that actually cost us a point.

Only thing other than that was the strange decision to do the drop ball rather than get us to boot it back but he had to stop the game. All be it when Perkins wrestled with Gibbons fouling him he cost us by stopping that as Worrall was in a great position down the channel.

Smith was a yellow. If we got a red for that I’d start to really think the EFL have got it in for us after the other two recently!

Pope and Norwood both go down like a sack of shit... as does the bald guy Ellis? Whitfield is like three foot yet somehow kept dumping this big hairy arsed centre on his back.

Didn’t affect the game at all... which is unusual for Kettle.

I’ve now come to the acceptance that we’ll be playing non league football next season.

It baffles me how some of our players are professional footballers. Hannant, Conlon and Rawlinson wouldn’t get in any team in the league below. End of.

Pope ball is dead. He offered nothing tonight.

We are dying a slow and painful death and have been for 3 years now.

Do I need to say anymore?

Pope is well out of form. Its a pity, but playing him is costing us every game.

With only two drop spots, it takes something spectacular to be relegated. I think you'll scrape it, Notts and Yeovil for the drop.

This is what I meant before the game when I was hoping Askey would be brave and not be afraid to haul him off if it isn’t working. If nothing else to try and stick a rocket up a few of the other players arses. The constant playing of Popeball when he’s in the team is reducing us to being very one dimensional, opposition teams just find us far too easy to defend and we don’t adjust.

Either way congrats to Tranmere on being the latest to beat us and good luck aiming for the playoffs.

At this rate you’re gonna have to give us the Paddock in a few weeks :woot:
Reckon you'll sell out the Cowshed? It would make sense to open up more for you, but I don't think we can do it logistically.

You don’t sell 1/4 of the allocation you could have so why would we give you the Paddock?

Ahhh, you also have a Paddock and also play Crewe in a few weeks. Thought it was aimed at us!

We do... although who knows either way Crewe won’t need an extra stand at either ground!

Thought Norwood’s 2nd goal was an exceptional finish from a very tight angle. Had it not been for this I’m sure Vale would of picked up at least a share of the spoils. Didn’t think there was much wrong with Vale’s game and was very relieved when the final whistle went. Very good 3 points for us because we’ve played better than this and got beat.

I thought we had that extra bit of quality in most areas of the pitch and deserved the win. We were hanging on a bit at times in the second half, but we passed it better through midfield, had more variety in our attacking play and had the better chances over the ninety minutes. Vale were very reliant on the long ball knocked up to Pope and seemed to lack mobility, other than in the wide areas.

I know a lot of the Vale supporters have described our goals as resulting from poor defending, but they were excellent from our perspective. A great counter attack for the opener, and a superb ball from Jennings and a ridiculously good finish from Norwood for the second. Norwood was unplayable at times tonight.

There was no lack of effort from Vale in the second half and I certainly would not want a club of their size to go down. For us.... Things are starting to get interesting.

Give over mate, you won comfortably. Monthe kicked the ball away right in front of the referee definite yellow, the bald full back suddenly developed rigour mortis whilst walking over to take a throw in, definite yellow. Both deliberate time wasting, absolute stone wall yellows.
Norwood was persistent abuse to the linesman and ref after the penalty incident which was a penalty. I get him being angry but he wouldn't let it go. Then mouthing off at the ref. Clear Yellow.
Can't remember the other 3.

You have to be a bit balanced. So none of the 6 yellows were deserved?
Smith was very lucky to stay on the pitch for his lunge.
I agree the ref was atrocious as Kettle always is but really, no justification for any of them ?
