Couldn't be arsed to start a new thread re dog racing buy I have 2 running at Swindon this lunchtime.

12.57 and 13.11 (i think those times are right) Ballymac Magic and Droumeragh Lucy. Both have decent chances but are by no means certs.

I've had a friendly £20 win double

Just checked the early prices on Bet365 - 9/2 and 5/1. Jesus they both shouldn't be that big!
Decent mate, Lucy got it done at 8/1

Yeah. Own them both. Pity about the double, though!

Did you have a nibble? We got her down to 4/1 at the off. Happy days!

Nice, toenail stake or full ownership? Yea I had singles and the double. Can't grumble at an 8/1 winner on the puppies! Thanks mate. Drop some other fancies in here, can't beat inside info lol

I own half of the winner and a leg of the other one.

Glad you got some beer money!

Not a great day, but Meccas Angel winning and Dan's dog tip earlier has meant a small profit. Noone else playing one of the biggest flat festivals of the year? We used to have quite a big following of horse race betters on here

Not for me. Having an extended sabbatical from betting on the horses so made the decision to skip the flat season this year. Will probably start back up once the jumps get going.

Still, check the results and this thread though.

Same 2 dogs running Monday @ Swindon. Both have great chances - Lucy probably the more likely of the 2 to win.

Well, don't say I didn't tell you. Lucy bombs home @ 4/1. Waiting for Ballymac Magic at 13.58 for the double!

My boss put a tenner each way on a 14/1 shot yesterday and it came in. Nice of him to call me with the tip

Went to the Leger and had Ventura Storm at 25/1, he was leading all the way down the straight and just got outstayed in the last hundred yards. Absolutely gutted, was worth about £450

any size of a win is better than a loss mate.

haha true! But I've backed Alpha Delphini, Firmament and Harbour Law at odds of 9, 14 and 33 in the past few weeks and only put piddling stakes on.

Here's a tip mate, only back horses with all 4 legs :2thumb:

If you've any money for betting today, I'd follow Richard Fahey at Ayr. He primes his horses for this meeting every year

rarely bet on the flat (perhaps the Derby or Arc if there's anything I fancy). I'm more of a Cheltenham Festival punter.....save up all year for that but last few years I haven't had to as I've came out winning or broke even.

This is the first year I've bet on flat consistently and I've enjoyed it. Prefer the sprint races above all else. Looking forward to the return of the jumps and hurdles though, Cheltenham was the first festival I really watched so it's my favourite. And of the 3 years I've bet on it, I've made a profit every year so far!

I turn 40 next year and am planning my first trip to Cheltenham for the festival next March to celebrate/commiserate reaching the landmark.

Stuck a fiver e/w on Nameitwhatyoulike in the Ayr Gold Cup....took 14's in the morning and it's actual SP was 8's.....must have been a good bit of cash for it so I thought it must been in with a good chance. Led till about 1 furlong out then faded....finished 6th or 7th.

OK, here we go again. My little bitch, Lucy, runs again tomorrow evening @ Swindon. She's up 2 grades for her good win last week and is no certainty but she will run well at a big price. Later that evening another dog in the kennel, Over the Beach, looks an absolute shoe-in.

Enjoy!
