There's some joke here about getting an architect who's dead to design your new stadium here..

I think that's the design after its been converted into a 10.000 seater stadium ;)

Where you gonna get 10,000 fans from, you could only muster 2 and a half for Wembley. You'll look as silly in there as 1500 Darlington fans did in the Reynolds Arena.
As the Beatles nearly said, "Money Can't Buy You Fans". :£:£:£:£:bye::£:£

Glad to see it's got that ridiculous, must-have, stand height to depth ratio, beloved by the Tin Potters, that makes the stand roofs completely pointless except as a decoration. :bdick:

“The importance of using wood is not only that it’s a naturally occurring material, it has very low carbon content – about as low as it gets for a building material.
“And when you bear in mind that around three quarters of the lifetime carbon impact of any stadium comes from its building materials, you can see why that’s so important – and it’s why our new stadium will have the lowest carbon content of any stadium in the world.'

What kind of bullshit is this when a Eco warrior claims wood has a low carbon content. Being the by product of a carbon based life form means it's almost entirely carbon and so the stadium is likely to have one of the highest carbon contents.

You'd think he'd know the difference between carbon footprint and carbon content.

Looks like Chester's stadium with a curvy wooden roof stuck on.

Wooden stands? Thought they got banned 30 years? Clearly the Bradford fire 1985 never happened!

Personally really enjoying that they've got Nottingham Forest as the away opponents on the scoreboard.

Cos GREEN, innit.

Oh haven`t you heard? When they move into this shiny new stadium the entire population of the "football mad town" of Stroud, all 13 and half thousand of them, are going to drop their support of Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Man United, Liverpool etc etc etc not forgetting Gloucester Rugby Club (the pull of such a fantastic historial club as Forest Green Rovers on their doorstep will, of course, make hordes of people change the sport they have watched for years) to become devote followers of FGR and fill the place every week with a huge waiting list for season tickets for those unlucky enough miss out on buying one when they launch their ST sales. It is going to be harder to get a ticket than getting one for the Cup Final you mark my words. You should try to keep up old chap.

What is the policy on this nowadays? I know there was a ban on wooden grandstands but a lot of Dartford's ground is wooden, is it not?

Too be honest you probably need viagra , the women aren't too nice up your way.
True, there's no Rosemary Wests in these parts, but they're nice enough to ensure an ongoing supply of Shaymen. :bdick:

It is indeed in part including the famous "Wooden Man" who supports the roof on one side of the ground. I also thought that wooden stands had be banned but maybe that is totally wooden as supposed to wooden roofs, side panelling etc.

Is there an artists impression of it derelict and covered in overgrown grass and weeds for when a Rushden happens?

For such an eco club, why would they use so much wood?

Mark Cooper will have an input in the design in terms of what will be required on the football side, including in all the training facilities that will be incorporated on the site, which is a good thing imo.

The players at the unveiling were very impressed, and having such high quality facilities will be a big help when it comes to attracting talent, both to the first team and to our academy.

Like it or not, we're a club going places very quickly. Skys the limit.

I'd imagine that the wood would be treated so that it would be not flammable. Remember, Colchester Utd were allowed to keep their completely wooden terrace open for supporters until they left Layer Road in 2008.
