Hey Carver, that's how you beat L1 opposition with a poor away record.

:woo:

If you bothered to read my thoughts on the game Vanni, you would see that I did not mind too much that we got beat. SO SHUT THE FUCK UP

There are no good managers left. Unless you fancy taking on Ronne Moore again, he just left Eastleigh.

He'd be an improvement on Hignett that's for sure

Well i had bothered to read your thoughts, and while you said you weren't too bothered I can assure you that you were. And why wouldn't you be? Rochdale are poor on their travels and I don;t blame the Carlisle fans for thinking they stood a great chance of making round 3.

and anyway, I was only kidding Carvs ;)

They certainly weren't poor on their travels yesterday. Comfortably the best side I've seen us play this season.

While I'm happy we beat Coventry, I'm also a bit concerned we do a repeat of the Man U game. We were having a quite decent L2 season until that f'ing game. I'm fully aware that we made a lot of money out of the replay at OT, but our season went downhill fast and we ended up flirting with relegation. I'm praying we won't see a repeat of that season.

In other news, HabbinAlan must be over the moon with both The U's and Barrow making it through. Barrow are actually my tip of going up from the connie this year.

Yeah I was only kidding. Cup games aren't on the same level as league games as we all know, and I don't put too much emphasis on home/away form for cup games. As for Rochdale, I heard - from a guy who isn't a fan but has watched 3 of their home games this season, and opinions from neutrals carry more weight in my book - that they have quite a good side and stand a good chance of making the playoffs if only they improve their away form.

"Over the moon," is pushing it. Luckily, none of my usual sidekicks were with me in the Habbin (Mike does regular commentaries for blind, in mainstand, and Mick was on family duties) so those who suffered my coughing, sneezing and spluttering between fist pumps were not regulars.

I did manage another little fist pump as I headed back to the car and heard the Barrow result (never in doubt Aber gas ). I'm now taking on medicinal alcohol and considering the musical accompaniment that such a "perfect" sunday deserves.

Congratulations Alan on both your teams progressing. We are now concentrating on League 1. Enjoy your evening.
Good day.

Don't be so soft, of course we want another Man U esque game, that set the club on a much better financial footing that we would have been. Arsenal away would be perfect. If we get Luton, I'll laugh. If we get any non-Prem side north of Stoke I'll cry....!

We were excellent today though Coventry were woeful and actually made our previous visitors Cheltenham look good. Berry scoring four was pretty special, well on his way to the next 50.

I do actually have a third team, as johnnytodd will confirm, but they are currently taking the edge of a perfect Sunday evening.

Martin Carthy beckons. I think I need a gentle end to this weekend.

One for Dirk

Our usual mental game with Peterborough. Just one of those fixtures that always produces goals and incidents.

For twenty minutes we were dreadful and deservedly 2-0 down but from then on there was only one team in the game. Campbell scored a lovely goal to pull one back, Angol completely lost the plot after being fouled by Tootle and got sent off then we spent the entire second half creating and missing chances. Posh never got out of their own third really, but it still took until the 94th minute.

Onwards to London Road. Our last two midweek visits there have produced twelve goals and loads of red cards. Should be fun.

Hignett seriously lost the plot today, that line up was an absolute joke.

My patience is starting to wear thin with him, like. Benefit of the doubt for now but dear god, no excuses for today. Spineless from both players and management.

Worrying times.

I reckon the last two home wins have kept his head above water, knew a lad who went reckoned the fans or a section of them were dishing out dogs abuse to Hignett, needs a positive result on Saturday.

We've put the final nail in the coffin for Venus and hopefully we'll do the same next week to Hignett.

Coventry were dire and are an absolute shambles, but we were simply magnificent today, no doubting we've turned a corner and we're making up for our lack of goalscoring in the first 3 months of the season these last few weeks! Defence is solid, two central midfielders seem to have figured out how to play with each other at last, wingers are getting plenty of assists (although Mingoia was a bit off overall today despite a great layoff for the third goal), Uche is absolutely unplayable up top, and Luke Berry is definitely not playing like a team from a higher division should try and sign him, absolutely not, no sir.

Full credit to Mr Derry, I thought he should've gone after the Morecambe defeat made it 8 league games without winning, and began wavering a bit again after the tepid performance at home to Dover, but we've been absolutely incredible since and we're looking like the side he turned us into last season again, long may it continue.

Not overly picky about who we get, just something "new" would be good, or the scum as always.

Of course I want another big match, Arsenal away would be great. But only if we don't do a repeat of the post Man U replay months ;) The footy was atrocious, but luckily Cheltenham and Tranmere helped us out by being so crap and we were safe by default.

Huge relief to get past Woking and avoid embarrassing ourselves. Woking started well but they had a man sent off in the first half which killed them.
I just hope this win gives us a boost for the league form - Orient away next weekend if we lose that we're in the shit.
