I know this might leave it open to the obvious response of “a shit one” but was that a strong team Charlton named or a lot of changes? Been there with struggling against a team from that level. Should guarantee that or Horsham will be the TV replays.

11 changes but more than strong enough to be dispatching a side 5 leagues below.

Woeful display and hopefully the last we see of a few of them.

Massive credit to Cray Valley though.

Any chance you can put out the same 11 when you visit Brunton Park for our takeover party later this month?

So probably Derby away. Great. I think we will have to play Derby away 2 weekends in a row now, and probably lose both ffs

but hey, on the upside you also massively underestimated the attendance. Kerching!

Wasn’t expecting so many Millwall “Cray Valley fans” but FairPlay.

Committed the cardinal sin of underestimating how truly shit we are.

It's OK, you can come and collect your annual three points on Saturday given how dire we were today.

Credit to Chesterfield. Paul Cook is not a non-league manager and a few of the players he has at his disposal can still do a job in League One. They'll be in the Football League next year for sure.

As for us, I really hope that was a one-off because not one player comes out of today with any credit. Woeful all over the pitch and with a couple of injuries to boot. The only positive being that if the players were getting a little complacent and decided to slack off, I'd rather it be today than in the league when it actually matters. This result might be a kick up the arse for some.

As you say, I think as long as it doesn’t recur, the odd slack performance (and no doubt managerial bollocking) can actually be used as a chance to refocus.

As long as your players take it the right way, then I guess just brush this one under the carpet.

Firstly, credit to Cray Valley. They were outstanding and deserved their result.

For us that might be up there with the worst result in our history. 11 changes but the players who started are all those who you'd expect to be in and around the starting 11 and bench. To play so poorly and not even make it look like there was a difference in quality is very concerning. Hoepfully our new owners see this and fix the clear issues with our squad depth.

Our fans weren't happy with the Appleton appointment but results in the league have turned that around. He seems to have lost all the respect and goodwill after yesterdays game. Just start with a few strong players and sub them off when you look comfortable.

The replay should be interesting. Their ground only holds 1000 with segregation sounding like an issue. Talk of it getting moved elsewhere, although I hope for their sake it'll be at their ground. Looking at the fixture list it sounds like it'll be during internationals when we will be losing 2 CBs, so expect another ropey defensive display

We have been surprisingly ok! Just the one loss to non league opposition, 6th tier Northwich Victoria back in about 13 years ago

Alright for some, we've got a roll of shame down the years! That said on the flip side we've had a fair share of Giant Killings so its swings and roundabouts I guess!

In terms of the replay's I wonder if any will play on the Saturday with it being International Weekend, for example Burton v Cheltenham is already off and our game v Orient will almost certainly be off so would make sense to move it from the Tuesday and play it the Saturday surely?

Professional performance against Kiddy and interesting 2nd round draw against Cambridge. Quite optimistic in as much as our away form has been more than decent.....
I think it’s a great opportunity for both of us. We have been pretty poor going forward this season but we’re not conceding many (aside from being thumped by Barnsley). I think it’ll be right and could go to a replay, pens etc

Our game against Northampton has been called off but presumably Cray Valley would have a game that day. Given the reaction last night I assume Appleton will want a full strength side to avoid further embarassment.

Which means I'd assume we'd push for next Tuesday the 14th, although that'd mean postponing the EFL Trophy game for us and and FA trophy game for them. The only other option is the 21st/22nd during internationals as we have Cheltenham midweek the week after

Us and Wrexham had originally had our BSM trophy tie on replay day but changed it to this Tuesday a couple of weeks back, strange they didn't realise!

£10 a ticket for the terrace at Burton in the replay, will certainly go that and should see us sell out.

Mate, I expect a ropey defensive display when we’re at full strength!

Replay confirmed for 14th. Can’t wait for the scramble for the 75 tickets we get.

I was suprised how “off it” you were to be fair. We were always going to be bang up for in with the ex Pompey contingent in our ranks and think we wanted it more from the off, but did have the quality in the squad to control the game for the most part.

We’ve turned over 4 FL sides in 2 years in the FA Cup and drew 3-3 with West Brom last year so it’s definitely not the giant killing the media love to sing about, but it’s a bloody good result for us and we will definitely have a right go at Orient in the second round.

We really should win the league this year, and hopefully the year after as well the way we are shaping us. The squad is ridiculous and the support behind it is the best it’s been whilst I’ve been going

Good luck anyway, hope you get promoted back to the Champ!

Corner kicks are basically penalties for us at the minute, can't stop conceding them!

Sounded as though we should have been out of sight by the time Morecambe equalised. Felt a bad result, but the only positive is that others had even worse ones!

It's an expensively assembled squad they've got isn't it, I didn't realise quite how many half decent players they've got - Naylor, Grigg, Jacobs, Banks, Mandeville, Dobra.

Yeah this was hardly a massive shock to be honest. When Paul Cook was our manager we turned over a couple sides a couple of divisions higher than us. I just hope we can't be that bad again come Saturday when it really matters.

282 tickets for Cray Valley away. Can't remember the last time I missed out on an away ticket but this might be the one
I’ve watched Orient play there in a friendly 6 years ago when Greenwich Borough played there and it’s quite an experience that ground, we took around 600 fans that day and it was hard work even with the crowd unsegregated.

They can’t even accommodate all the 2500 away fans they took at the weekend FFS!

I couldn't for the life of me remember what ground that was, thanks for reminding me!

Geez surprised they aren't moving it somewhere else, that ground was very basic, wasn't the covered end just a bit of scaffold over hard standing? Welling United would only be 10-15 minutes away, they have a tidy little ground.
