Am sure Carroll will start, wouldn't surprise me if that's the midfield and attack.

Defence has a lot of questions though. No new right back in the window means either we've faith in Byram's developement or long term see Antonio as a viable option each week, which tbh I'd prefer him used further forward.

Does the new left back (name escapes me) start week 1, and who plays in the middle. Could potentially have Ogbonna at left back and Reid and Oxford in the middle if we're not chucking in new starters from the off.

Long term I wonder if we're aiming to play Carroll every week, and instead play Ayew or Calleri up there instead - first half of last season were playing really good stuff, and while we did well with Carroll there in the second half the general play wasn't quite the same as before.

Pretty curious to see Conte's team playing.
I think he has very strong players in his squad and he is in the scenario he loves the most: just the championship to play (no UCL) and an awful previous season. I suppose he has been looking so bad for this kind of situation after leaving Juventus.

Also, I guess Chelsea will be pushing a lot, so it's gonna be a hard test for the WHU defense.

For all the talk of a cavalier 4-2-4 formation for Chelsea we've actually got a 4-1-4-1 which, so far, is keeping Costa pretty isolated.
