That game emphasised the lack of quality in depth Wales have really. I think they win that if Ramsay and Allen are fit. Aside from the opening, Wales looked very average in the middle of the pitch and Bale kept wandering to try and influence which actually saw him become less effective. Didn't help Vokes had a shocker of a match also. Wales will be there or there abouts but I think Austria win this group. Although it'll be interesting to see if Serbia finally get their shit together.

A guid dram
Decent second half from Georgia offensively, should have scored a few. Assumed Wales would run out easy winners after an early goal, but Georgia made them work for the draw.
Yeah Georgia aren't a bad side tbh. They played us off the park there in the last qualifying campaign and so thought they'd give Wales a game.

Shame we were missing two of our most influential players. I think we became too attacking too soon after they equalised, could easily have lost it on the counter.

Poor result for Wales, and at the minute the Republic of Ireland being held at 1-1 in Moldova.

That point in Serbia for Ireland is looking very good. The Austria game next month will be a toughie though, as for Wales they should be putting teams like Georgia away if they want to be going to a world cup.

Frustrating game for Wales today, definitely missed Allen and Ramsey. Still we have 5 points from 3 games and are only 2 points off of top. Serbia in Cardiff next month is going to be a massive occasion

looking forward to reading st. juste's take on the 1-1 draw with lithuania

A disappointing result but hardly disastrous - Slovakia and Slovenia have both dropped points so far and we're second in the group.

International football is very different from club football, and whilst you should expect Scotland to beat Lithuania and Wales to beat Georgia these are decent sides who can have decent games.

Hell, Scotland beat France twice not that long ago and they still qualified. That is a much bigger shock than Lithuania drawing with us.

That was 2006/2007. And right, despite 2 losses against Scotland France was qualified for the Euro2008....and not Scotland

Not much happened so far. Scotland still in for #2 and the Playoff (nobody thought they would top this group, right?)

Aye it's true, it's not that shocking to see a bottom half Championship side draw with a bottom half League One side in the cups now and then.

Er, yeah, that was my point entirely.

I actually think it was Georgia we lost to in that group. These things happen to most nations. Not something to get too concerned about.

It's obvious what you're trying to do, which is a pretty good indication you're not very good at it.

Keep plugging away though, the road to success is plagued with many pitfalls of failure.

Er, yeah, and I have the same opinion in this case and wanted to write it. Unusual for you that someone shares your opinion? (Don't answer) ;)

I'm so bored that I'm looking forward to this.

What?

btw: I wanted to ask this before: Are you French?

10 years is a long time in football.

Won 1-0. Was alright. Our best players were our centre halves though which is disappointing. Pogba's distribution was superb but didn't offer much else. Matuidi was meh like is the norm these days, Payet not good, Griezmann & Gameiro underwhelming.

I've watched the Netherlands vs France match and was very disappointed, mainly about the quality of the Holland (or the Netherlands (pc) ) team.
Wait? did I really say I was disappointed about the quality of their team?....wrong term because I was delighted about it. So my dream that Sweden and France will be #1 and #2 in this group is now a bit more probable because the Northmen won 3-0 against Bulgaria.

Tomorrow I'll be in our Capital Hannover to watch the Germany vs Northern Ireland match. Unfortunately I won't be able to see "legendary striker" Will Grigg :D

Would like to see a confident and assured performance tonight, not the easiest place to go but this is a game we should really be winning. Interesting to see how the team does without Rooney, hopefully a comfortable 2-0 win!

Stones needs to stop ball-playing while the simple thing to do is clear the ball. England's worst player so far.

England are missing a Pirlo type character. Couldn't Rooney do a job there?

Sturridge is doing my head in. Vardy is far better suited to this England side.

Not sure I agree. There is plenty of pace upfront and they all have decent movement, but there is pratically no creativity in the team. If your going to play a front three like we are or even with Vardy there, the midfield needs to be much more creative as the front three won't be.

England desperatly need a playmaker of some kind. Best we've got is either Wilshere or Barkely. I'd rather either of those over one of the current centre mids, someone that can in theory at least help England transition from defence to attack. It's not about them being particularly better than the players in the squad at the moment, they would just offer more balance.
