I'm expecting SteveEvanage to come and play spoilball and to try and bludgeon us into submission, much like we used to do under Ainsworth.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're well equipped to deal with such tactics since we're not prolific from open play at the best of times - and this won't be the best of times.

Would take a draw right now.

Lincoln Away after the BSM tie, tricky and we have virtually no defence.

So far due to a bonkers injury crisis and suspension to Smith it looks like Lewis Cass on his own

Two wing backs will be midfielders (Sang and 19 y/o James Plant) and could be in the situation where assuming Debrah recovers from concussion we have 23 year old Lewis Cass, Jesse Debrah making about his 3rd/4th EFL start and may have to go to 16 year old Jack Shorrock from the youth team to make his first EFL start.

We've had 2 good cup performances and kept two clean sheets despite the decimation in numbers at the back (all be it Jason Lowe went off injured late on who has been crucial to the back line with his experience).

Difficult memories there last season with that ridiculous refereeing blunder costing us the game and ultimate the end of the Darrell Clarke era and Tom Conlon being unfairly scapegoated.

We've been better on the road and need to start turning performances into results, defensive problems numbers wise mean it will be a tough one but hopefully we can take a chance or two and get some kind of result here.

Would take a point to stop the rot.
Mitchell out for a long time, a few other injuries too, no decent strikers. Its going well.

A point would be ok, but technically we’ve already stopped the rot in the league after the Lincoln game.

And with our next two being Peterborough H and Bolton A, this does feel like a must win. But as you say, the state of our squad does make it hard to see where we can get a win. Wildschut at least looks a threat and if we actually played Muskwe through the middle I’m sure he could offer something.

Ever the optimist so I’ll go for a miraculous 2-1 win. Wildschut and Trevitt to score.

Small matter of the Cambridgeshire derby at Pish on Sat. They have cut our allocation to just 1600 after the problems last year, but amusingly are failing to sell out the home areas. Tight game expected this year could go either way being a derby.

Plus we always lose away to the ‘big’ clubs in the division (not sure Reading are big, but you know what I mean).

Gutted to miss it, the only week I couldn’t make all season

You aren't missing much this is shite. Would have been more entertaining playing tennis with the tennis balls they lobbed on the pitch

Oxford at home. As always I’m sure they will let bygones be bygones and it will be a convivial atmosphere of brotherly love & the collective joy of supporting lower League football teams. Don’t mention the war.

Slowly putting together some decent results but 3 points are badly needed. Exeter at home is an opportunity and there will be disappointment if they cant get the result current performances merit

Wigan at home.

I don't know - turn up like they did against Cambridge, Vale and the second half against Blackpool and we might be ok.

Turn up like they did against Wimbledon and we'll get an absolute spanking.

Thought you did well against us, albeit with our poorest showing of the season by some margin. You restricted us to very few chances , which is quite something, as we're good at creating chances...we just can't finish them. Keep sticking to a game plan and working hard and you'll win a few more. DC is a canny operator.

Lincoln seem to be very up and down. Surprised to see them in 9th place as I didn't think they were doing that well but they seem to have picked up a few wins. Always a tough place to go and would be pleased with a point. Last season we were on course for good win there until the ref made up an imaginary incident and sent Conlon off , which was rightly rescinded but was too late by then. As bad a decision as you'll ever see.
We're down to the bare bones again for what seems like the umpteenth season running. Hopefully a couple will be back on Saturday.

Dire need of 3 points on Saturday in a game that will hopefully mark the end of an era at Brunton Park, as the curtain finally comes down on Andrew Jenkins' long service to the club. AJ is a divisive figure up here, but nobody can question his commitment to the cause - however bad the times may have been under his leadership.

Rovers will surely fancy their chances, but we'll only be 3 points behind them if we win. Unfortunately we'll be without Callum Guy (our most consistent player this season) after he picked up a nasty injury at Orient in the FA Cup. He joins Ellis, Charters, and Kayode on the scrapheap. For how long, we don't yet know.

This is a classic game we’ll lose tbh.

Whilst we are inept, we haven’t had a hiding off anyone. No team has scored more than 2 against us in the league. Now I think Callum Guy being out of our midfield is going to seriously test that record.

I do think with the players we have out we are currently the worst team in the league and I can see a hiding here sadly. Think Bristol Rovers will run out 4-1 winners.

We have won our last 7 games at Fratton Park and 9 of our last 10, the loss coming in the Prem back in 2005. It doesn't usually matter if we are pants at the time and they are flying, we always seem to win there. So their unbeaten record in the league is really at risk.

If they finally manage to break their curse against us it must mean they're finally going up.

Theres always something that goes against us playing Charlton. One year the ball had gone out for a throw in. We stopped then a cross came in which you guys scored from. The away game last season we had injuries and ended up starting with LB at RB and a CB at LB (cowleys wisdom), Pack being sent off for 2 yellows and generally we were awful. This time the best defender in the league (regan poole) twists his knee in the fa cup match v chesterfield after 8 mins, then Anjorin who is finally getting up to speed and looking better than league one pulls his hamstring. Captain Pack has been out for quite a while and maybe fit. First choice LB ogilvie was out for a while, comes back and 20 sec into this return goes over on his ankle under no challenge and is out for 6-8 weeks

Jesus, that's some luck. We've only won one away game all season and been woeful away so if we do end up winning again this time then you're never beating us at Fratton.

Put your money on an away win in that case!!! Although we are different animal this season. We've come from behind in 9 matches this season. Latest one we were 2 down at Reading and won 3-2. The team and the fans don't seem to let it bother them if we go behind, we just continue and have got back into it. Only exception was the FA cup match on sunday, but as you know FA cup matches aren't always that easy

I'm hoping Poole is fit after Sunday because I really don't fancy having to play Raggett from the start given his stupidity on Tuesday night.

We really are at a narrative crossroads on Saturday. Win and the fans will feel the curse is finally broken and nothing will stop us from getting promoted this season. Lose, and fans will get nervous ahead of two more tricky games in Blackpool at home and Burton away midweek. We'll fail to win them and slip out of the top two going into December and all momentum will be lost.

I'd take a draw if Poole is missing. It would at least guarantee that we end the weekend still top of the league.

Our game with Oxford is now a sell out, will be another big test for our group.

We've now lost Jordan Graham for the season after he injured his knee at Burton, not as bad as an ACL but still required an operation and will mean he is out for 6 months.

We scored 3 last week and 2 at Northampton with a goaless draw with Burton in between, but we're still not a clinical side, even Tuesday night against Pompey we had chances at various times but don't take them when we have our periods of being on top in games, if we're to get anything Saturday this will need to change.

Time will tell if Manning leaving Oxford will affect their team, but they're 2nd right now for a good reason so I personally don't expect too much of a change from their players.

We've struggled a bit against the leagues better sides so far IMO, so for us to get anything will be a good result.

Pish away, never an easy place to go but quietly confident we can go and get a result, need everyone fit(hoping cousins makes it) and everyone on it though.

Early ko which is annoying but understandable after last year.

Bonner will want a win here on his cv before he leaves.

COME ON YOU U’S

Yet more cowardly words from this fella.
We might be in the bottom 4, ravaged by injuries and suspensions but the Carlisle management, squad and supporters still have a backbone and fight in them.
We'll have to change the formation now, I think we'll go back to 5-3-2, but it's tight at the bottom and every point counts.
I would like to see Edmondson brought back into the starting 11 and Gibson used out wide.
Huntington possibly brought back in defence after recovering from injury.
