Apprently we are after Harlee Dean.
We already have 5 CBs so can't see it myself unless at least 2 are off (Flint likely for one)

MagpieBee have you heard anything about Harlee Dean? Had a Brentford mate text me this morning saying he's coming here. Would be bizarre as we have so many CBs but Flint is off and it seems Magnusson might be a shame well unfortunately.

We're also being linked with Harlee Dean, hope we get him.

Just seems a waste if we do sign him really, could put the money to much better use.

If Dean signs we'll have Dean, Baker, Flint, Wright, Magnusson, Hegeler and Moore. Ridiculous amount of quality there, can't think of many other clubs in this league with so many quality centre halves, but obviously at least one (probably two) would be off.

Classing Taylor Moore as 'quality' is a bit OTT I think. Not really sure about the others.

Magnusson looked Conference quality when he came on against us at Deepdale.

Taylor Moore we haven't seen much of was the England U20 captain and I'm pretty sure they won their world cup or whatever they competed in this summer. Not saying he's quality be just listing the options - the rest of them are, we'll see how good Hegeler is this season but he's not had the career he's had if he's no good.

Not really surprising, chucking on a centre back at 3-0 down was never really going to end well. He's an integral part of the Iceland side and has been really good for us whenever he's played, shame our manager is a knobhead and has burnt their bridges.

I'd class Moore as competent to play at championship level, against Hull in the cup last season he more then held his own, just doesn't get a chance, but to call him quality is a stretch.

'integral'? He's played what, 10 games for Iceland? Most the time he sits on the bench. And 'really good' whenever he plays for us is a stretch too tbh, it was noticeable Tuesday when he moved to centre back he wasn't as good as Hegeler and Baker at dealing with Blissett. He's been decent for us, would be alright with him being a regular starter and feel someone like Wright/Baker alongside him would help him rather than Flint.

Magnusson has played more than 10 games for Iceland and in their last two games they've won 1-0 and he's scored both the goals.

He's so underrated, our centre backs like Flint and Magnusson or exposed last season at times by the shite they had/have around them.

He's not the most physical but makes up for that in the fact that he's comfortable with the ball at feet and can more than pick a pass.

If we let him go it'll be another big mistake. The same as Ayling, Cunningham, Freeman etc etc.

Transfermarkt lists him as having played 10 games, has his 2 goals listed as well. I'm not saying we should be letting him go or anything but felt at the same time wasn't cracked up to the level some people rated him at, he was part of the defence that shipped so many goals, yes others played a part but he and Flint were responsible for their fair share. As for his comfort on the ball, Tuesday was again noticeable, he was comfortable when he had a lot of time, when pressured his passing often didn't reach its target.

I didn't go Tuesday so can't comment. How was he at LB? Seems he might have to fill in there Saturday. Anyway....

Harry Redknapp on Joe Bryan: "They (City) just said it don't matter what you offer he's not for sale, so that's the end of it"

Harry Redknapp says he's still interested in Aden Flint.

"Our values are not the same... we've got every right not to pay what they want"

That they do, just means they don't get the player, good to hear Bryan is a non starter. JJ going to reply in the City thread about Mags so not to clog the transfer thread.

Aren't we all.

Perhaps if your manager didn't make the bids public in the first place this all wouldn't have come about.

Gustav Engvall rejoins the Swedish team he was on loan to a month or so ago, weekly games and we get him back in November when their season finishes. If he does well we could look to sell him back to Sweden hopefully recouping most the money we spent on him.

Lee Johnson has not stopped talking about it

Flint would obviously have been aware of interest in him if it was made 'public' or not.

Stephen Gleeson, brum fans..?
He done well when we first had him but he has become stagnant over the past year and doesn’t fit in now with where we want to be. He is most effective playing in a 4-2-3-1 as one of the two holding midfielders than in a standard 4-4-2. He would be a good signing for a top half League 1 club. Think we've turned down 500k for him already this summer.

Point being Johnson only talked about it once it was made public, said in an interview he wasn't happy that it had been leaked.

Well obviously for christ sake, but we wouldn't all be talking about it every single day.

Lasogga coming in from Hamburg seemingly. Should give us enough depth up top so probably just a CB left now for us.

CB needs to be key, i'm hearing we're still trying our best for Helander , but we need to get our skates on we are so light it's unbelievable, Shaughnessy looked good vs port vale but let's be fair they aren't a top notch strikeforce, i'd hate to think he's our bench CB this season

Stevie May has joined Aberdeen for an undisclosed fee.

Never worked out for him here, good move for both parties.

£300k supposedly, glad we got anything for him after that injury.

Edit - Seddon says its more than £300k, not bad if we've cleared £400k for him.

Lasogga will be on a fair whack, surprised if you could afford his wages (c.50k)

He's got less than a year on his contract, and our policy is always to sell at that point if we can get a decent fee. It'll be a massive shame as he is our captain and key to our defence, but he'll be able to double or triple his wages with you so wouldn't surprise me if he left.

I'd want £6m if he was in contract, I reckon we'd take £2m now and he'd be a steal at that
