Still good games, but Bioshock is the standout game of the series. Infinite is more of a standalone experience rather than a sequel. And a bit of mind fuck to boot.

Bioshock > Infinite > Bioshock 2. IMO and that.

You're playing the remastered versions, yeah? How do they run? Read a lot of negativity about crashes and other stuff but I've got 'em both downloaded and ready to play.

Yeah, remastered. It ran flawlessly for me - no problems at all.

Crashed right at the end of the Medical Pavilion section, losing basically all my game progress to that point. Luckily that's only an hour or so in to the game so I just went through it again as quick as I could, hitting the quick save key at every opportunity. You're a liar Steven. A no good, dirty liar :dis:

Runs great aside from that though.

I downloaded Neverwinter for my PS4 as it was free and I hadn't played an MMORPG in a while. I've been finding it really fun, there's loads of different classes you can choose from and loads of quests which aren't too time consuming.

Had a look at this the other day. Assumed it was shit because it was free, but will now check it out when I find the time.

Great. Let me know if you ever get into it and feel like partying up, would be cool to do a few quests together or some PVP mini-games.

It's good. The buttons are initially confusing but there are lots of prompts to help. The waypoint is a really cool feature as it cuts out hours that I usually spend wandering around aimlessly.

I'm a Hunter Ranger and I've just got my first companion who takes all the damage while I pick monsters off from a distance. Combat is a lot easier with a companion. I also like that you can upgrade powers as you can deal some real damage. Still think you really need items or companions with life steal and restoration properties to fight effectively, irrespective of how powerful your weapon is.

I also like that you can team up to kill stuff, it seems that the game has a good community spirit. A couple of times I was close to dying but was helped out by others. It probably does help that you don't lose your items if you die.

How is it? The first one is one of my favourite games.

I started Bioshock 2 last night and turned it off not long after as I got tired, I started as a big daddy - can anyone who has played it put my mind to rest and tell me that you don't play as one for the whole game?

I'm also a massive Dishonored fan, can't wait for the chance to play this new one although my initial thoughts are that Emily's powers seem kind of lame in comparison to Corvo's.

Seems fine. Playing non stealthy seems more difficult compared to my memory of the original.

Not gamed in ages (bloody kids eh!) but Rainbow Six Siege is free this weekend and discounted on PS store so I'm gonna give that a dabble and if I like it maybe splash out the £15 for it. Though I was gonna wait til Black Friday to get some games. Titanfall 2 and Overwatch, though I doubt they'll see much discounting.

I really liked Dishonored as well... though I must admit I've barely checked out Dishonored 2. There's just too much other shit to be playing right now. I'll probably look to pick it up on the cheap somewhere down the line. It doesn't help that I'm kind of drowning in shooters with a bit of an RPG element (in that you get upgrades/powers ect) because I'm making my way through Deus Ex and Bioshock right now... feels like the wrong time to be bringing a new one of them sorts of games into my gaming library.

You play as that Big Daddy through the whole game. Well, there is one part where you play as... something else that I won't spoil. But yeah, mostly Alpha.

I always felt a little sorry for Bioshock 2. By all rights, it deserves to be looked at as a very good game. But it's just the unfortunate victim of sitting between Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite, where it stands out like a sore thumb. A good game sandwiched by two masterpieces. The story isn't as good as the other two, but it's still good, and I feel that the pacing of the game and such is absolutely superb.

Cheers.

I'm a bit disappointed that I'll be playing as a clunky Big Daddy throughout the game but I'll give it a fair chance.

Picked that engineer class and picked the stag as my pet. So far I'm currently level 10 and really enjoying this.

World of Final Fantasy
Just lifted the curse on Snow and he's following me around. Hoping he'll join as one of those champions.

Owlboy
Played an hour or so. Lovely pixel visuals and an absolutely amazing soundtrack. We're talking almost 1FF good.

I'm thinking of giving up on Witcher 3. Novigrad is so flat and uninteresting. A chore to play that part.

Finally, the "Worlds of Hurt - Expert" achievement took forever.

I can have a proper go at Bioshock 2 now.

Currently on Civ VI, which considering it's just the base release... isn't too terrible.

got Watch Dogs 2 didn't I.

Can't decide if I like it or not. Play it as a GTA style game and it's a bit pants, there's no real enjoyment in going in all guns blazing and the story isn't particularly interesting. Play it as a 'trickster' and it's more interesting and satisfying, but again now fun enough to really play the whole game with your drone and RC car.

Story has you rolling your eyes a bit with the digs at games media, Martin Shkreli and Scientology all occurring in the first 3 main mission - although they're silly and overly-obvious rather than an attempt at #makesyouthink.

Pros - Marcus is a really good protagonist, there's a lot of variety if you combines the main missions with side operations and the various race types - collectables in the form of research points, money and selfies at landmarks help you customise your dude (there's so many clothes to buy in this game) and the upgrade tree is great and really does implicitly force you to pick a certain play style. The bay area is a cool setting.

Cons - No real standout main story missions so far which is disappointing and unambitious as even the first game had one of those very early on (prison escape). I'm a few hours in and we've seen exactly one short cutscene with the main villain of the game.

On the last chapter. Had a blast with this game. It's incredibly simple and it's pure fan service, but fuck it. Enjoyed it.

Samurai Warriors 4
Taking a break from story mode. I've jumped into Chronicle mode. It's fun.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Finished. Really enjoyed that. A really good indicator of what VR is capable of.
