Great work.

Is it 70% for a 1st?

Yeah, I have a history of missing out. It started with A Levels where I was 1 raw mark off an A in Law which would have got me in to my first choice university and now at uni, I regularly end up getting like 1, 2 or 3 percent off a first (got 68% in first year).

I am definitely going to finish uni on 69.499999999%. Such is life.

Students, it always pays to get on well with your neighbours. Might have mentioned this before, but my neighbours are a group of final year students who are very friendly and always inform me when they are having parties etc. They always open an invite to myself and the missus (probably more because of her, tbh), and when she permits, we go and join them for a few. Last night they had a leaving party and being a good guest, they were rewarded with a crate of premium lagers.

Finishing really late this year compared to stage one and two. First exam 1st June, then the second, and final one on the fourth.

Slowly losing the will to live considering I have completely slacked off the revision until yesterday. Been doing bits of 2hours here and there the past few weeks but definitely not enough. 8-9 hour a day job now. Fun times.

Last exam of 4th year done, gold.

Why did I pick a 5 year course again? I'm ready to work...

I've finished my second year. :( God knows where the time has gone. The student life is too great to leave and join the working world for the next 40+ years.

Civil Engineering. I did a year in industry so that plus a master's take me to 5 years. The exam period properly took it out of me this year, normally I'm not too bad but I don't think I've ever worked so hard in my life. Hopefully it works out. Having done the year in industry, although I love to social life of uni I feel like I've done that now. I felt so much more organised when I was working and actually ended up having more free time on average.

I could probably go without the masters now but I got in whilst it still cost £3k and am still not completely decided it I want to continue in engineering or move into another field. Given it's not exactly a bad masters to have I'm just gonna go for it and evaluate after, I definitely wouldn't want to have to work whilst completing a masters.

First exam on monday.

Shitty exam timetable, almost everybody I know from other universities and even people at Newcastle are finished. Nothing more depressing than sitting in a huge library cluster of study spaces and there being literally 10 people spread around you.

Quick reminder, anyone going to uni next year, the student finance deadline is today. Only takes about half an hour.

Final exam on Wednesday. Hopefully ever! Consumer Behaviour. Unfortunately I still have 50% of my MSc to do after these exams when all my mates have finished for good. Oops.

Still, going to Prague next Monday with 10 mates from uni so LADS LADS LADS.

You can still get student finance. I'm not sure how much but I know my friend was using it to pay off her car, so it must be a fair bit.

I got the loan to cover my tuition fees (still half price despite not even being at Uni!), was fairly simple as I was set up as being on a sandwich course on the student finance website already so I just had to confirm that I was still intending on doing the year in industry. I didn't apply for the maintenance loan in the end though so no idea about that.

Well, I've officially finished my 1st year and am now back home in Essex (sadly). Absolutely loved almost every minute of it, and I've managed to get a 2:1 on all but 2 of my essays so I'm pretty pleased with that. Hopefully it can carry on next September, although I've decided I love halls and never want to leave. But we're living above a shop next year so what's not to love ;)

I got home yesterday. One more year left for me too. :( This time next year and it'll all be over with, which is depressing.

Agreed. Loved my time at uni but I don't miss it. Would of course do it again if I was 18
