Looks like Barnsley and Stevenage are doing ok considering their opponents PPG. We've had a great start when you consider we've played Barnsley, Derby, Stevenage, Leyton Orient away, Peterbough, Wycombe and Port Vale at home and been unbeaten, and only dropping points to Derby and Stevenage away in those fixtures. Also having to do most of them with one fit forward, Morrell out for Derby away and first choice LB and CM both injured for the last or so weeks, plus Roberston and Poole suspended for Port Vale at home. Hoping the manager of the month and the international break doesn't kill our momentum. Think that 23 league game unbeaten at the moment. Carlisle H, followed by Cambridge and Reading away. If we can get 7 points out of those it will be another good month

Stevenage fans, how does your pitch hold up in a storm?

Lincoln at home and both sides will fancy picking up 3 points, the thing is Fleetwood need them more than the visitors. We gave a good performance last week against Wigan so hopefully can carry that forward. I think we can just about sneak this 2-1

Bristol rovers at home.
No idea what to expect from this. Rovers seem to blow hot and cold.
Will go for a Desmond.
2-2.

We need to recapture some form. We're in a real rut and have started conceding the soft goals that we were doing last season. We've also stopped scoring....not a good combination.

It should be a real contrast of styles. Any Evans team that I've seen plays real shithouse football. Kick it long and win second balls, be physical and do all the dark arts. It clearly works at this level and below but they'd look like the Dog and Duck if they were in the Championship. Another team that no doubt like to get balls in the box and something that we've really struggled with.

We'll play our nice pretty patterns in between the lines, knock it about for fun but then lack anyone to stick it in the onion bag. Our midfield is one of the better in the league. It's just at either end where we're struggling. If we had a Dion Charles or a Clarke Harris, we'd be a real force.

We need to harness how we played against Pompey in the first half but take some more chances in the box and even take a pop from outside the box.

See what games go ahead with the storm chucking about three days of rain solid in some areas.

The last international break seemed to kill momentum so hopefully a break will help here but losing Wilson means we are even more limited for strikers, although Loft and Ikpeazu are in full training so may make an appearance, could do with Uche to counter their usual physicality.

Not sure how Stevenage are these days but usually we’ve struggled with their anti football, only beaten them twice in the league, had everything for a Pope outburst about rather ending his career than playing for them to Mark Robert’s and Tommy Fraser having some beef after he accused them of being “cocky from the top down” after our FA Cup tie in 2009.

Three tough games this coming week, Stevenage A Posh H Cheltenham H need four points minimum really to get back some positivity.

In terms of goals we are creating plenty so probably just needs an mis kick or lucky deflection just to get us going!

Both sides lost 4 in 5 so a big game for both.

That was some day. I can’t explain how shit we were. It was probably the worst Ive seen us play since you dicked us at your place midweek.
Were you good ? I think more we were really bad.
That and a 5-0 drubbing away at Leeds stick in my mind as really poor performances.

Cambridge at home - one of those games where (based on form) both teams will be thinking they can get something.

We simply need to start scoring and winning before it becomes too late to even hope.

Barnsley at home, we've been quietly ticking along and would be 7th if the Lincoln game had finished.

We have however only scored 12 goals, we win alot of games by 1-0. Mainly because we're good at managing games, but also because we're not a ruthless side up front. Last week at Carlisle we should've got a second goal but didn't.

I'd expect the Tykes to beat us, they have a superb away record and we're still likely to struggle against the stronger sides in this league because they have more firepower than ourselves.

Would take a point here for sure.

Wigan home. Seems like a big game for us as we really need to get back on track and quick. Should be close to full strength with only a couple to recover from injury.

Just hope we play on the front foot and leave nothing on the pitch. Fancy a 2-1 win, Demi Mitchell and big Admiral to score for us.

We've been sliding up the table in recent weeks, can't see us blowing many teams away but we are quietly capable.

Had the Lincoln score stood (which I believe it should have to be honest, a full replay feels excessive - they should just replay the last 10 mins but that's the EFL for you) we would be in 7th, with 5 wins from the last 7, but what can you do.

It has been a slightly easier run of fixtures after a very difficult start, which partially accounts for our strong recent return, but also our team is beginning to gel and we're naming largely unchanged XIs week on week, which is great.

Never seen us play Barnsley, and I don't know much about them this season, but they're a big side who will no doubt be up there at the end of the season. I would probably take a draw if you offered it to me now, although it seems any team is capable of beating any team in this league, the gap in quality from top of the league sides to mid table teams is far less than I thought it would be.

Amazingly, we're above Port Vale in the league, which is insane given that the top 18 players in this league all play for Port Vale, including Arblaster, who is rumoured to be eyeing up a move to PSG for at least £110m.

It was probably more due to you being poor than us being any good. That was the beginning of last season and we never start seasons well.
7 games unbeaten you should be a big test for us now!

From my experience of watching us over the years, weee quite a good side to play if you’re on a bad run. Admittedly that has seemed to be the case at ours rather than when we travel but I can remember several games against teams with dog shit form who can’t buy a win rocking up and beating us.

We’re struggling at the moment and there’s a feeling among fans that this is a bit similar to last season. We need a win from somewhere to get going again.

We are the masters at this. I remember a few years back when Bolton had to play their kids and were getting walloped every week, they came to the Mem and got an easy 3 points.
I guess its probably not the case, but they always stick in the memory!

Haha yeah. One game in particular that I remember was our first year back in the league in 2014/15. Tranmere were bottom and dreadful, hadn’t won for ages. They came to ours and won 3-1. Likewise Kiddy did us at ours in our relegation season in 04/05 which was must win and we’d turned the corner. Also we got stuffed at home 4-0 to Stevenage when they were bottom pre covid. We’re good at this sort of thing, especially at home.

That 04/05 season we played Cambridge away when they were bottom and lost 1-0. 10 days later we played Kiddy away, who had replaced Cambridge at the bottom of the League. And lost 1-0!!

Big game for both clubs against Cheltenham in that it could set the tone for both clubs through to Xmas. Think we really need to win this one or the natives will start getting restless and comparisons with last year will fall like Autumn rain. Talking of which will it actually go ahead if it rains all day tomorrow as predicted?

Bolton away. Tough one, can’t see us getting anything to be honest,

Sold 700 which is a decent effort considering the amount of away games we’ve got this month.

Not sure about this one, a few Blackpool fans seem to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder since the failed attempts to get Brannagan off of us, however playing-wise I expect they'll probably end up in the playoffs so this won't be easy. I say this despite their poor away form depicted above.

Should be fine - I don't recall us ever calling a game off for a waterlogged pitch.

Frozen pitch is a different matter, but that's not likely this weekend.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
thought Carlisle had no chance here at all at Portsmouth until that mention they are 23 games unbeaten.

Carlisle have at Times had a knack to end unbeaten runs and also a knack of giving sides a chance to end winless runs
