Would have thought FFP would stop DV spending big even if there were players keen to come. One signing so far is a prospect from the NL South. Couple of loanees and maybe one more i reckon
there always seems to be ways around ffp, Bury flouted it completely when they were down here a couple seasons back. Cousin Vinny will find a way I'm sure. Probably create a limited edition hemp home shirt and sell it to himself for five million quid.

Bury are coming back down anyway, horrible club, horrible fans, horrible ground and just shit. That'll be something to look forward to next season, not.

As for the fair play, it's about as useful as the fit and proper person test (eg completely useless) and you can navigate round this through sponsorship of the ground like we did the last few seasons before pretty much becoming self-sustaining (that was before this season before someone jumps in!)

Vince won't want them to go back down, that's for sure. Barnet seem in all sorts of bother. Wouldn't mind if Newport went down

While we're on the subject has there ever been a more boom or bust lower league club than Bury? They just never learn from overspending and then shake the buckets and repeat it again with even bigger sums of money. Interesting to see what happens to them if they're relegated this season.

Can't see Forest Green spending massively in the window too unless they sell Doidge, which won't happen given the state they're in...

No. Bury always seem to do it, Notts county are similar also.

With Notts I kinda don't mind as though it's annoying, there's not much that you can do as a fan, and well you hope for the best, their fans in large admit that which at least gives some margin of sympathy.

Not so with bury, their fans saw it as some right to go up last time they did and shamelessly flout the rules. If they're ever in financial bother again i won't contribute like I did last time, even if was only a fiver.

For me the FL needs to be sterner. In a 10 year period if you enter admin you should be docked the standard 10 points, do it again and it's 20. Do it again and you're chucked out.

I know Vale have been in admin twice since I've followed Crewe but both times it wasn't necessarily the club's fault, it was the fault of dodgy owners. Anyone who had a used car from their first dodgy chairman Bill Bell will know he was a shady bastard. Bratt messed them up in a different way. It's not like Bury who seem to have suffered from ITV Digital, then over-budgeted for silly attendances when they got to League One in 2011 and then ended up spending stupid wages on Popey, Leon Clarke and the like after they got bought by that property developing idiot. I'd have said Notts only tried to overspend once (which didn't do them too badly considering they got 5 years in League One out of it) the other times were just down to dodgy owners.

Bournemouth and Rotherham are other clubs who've financially suffered only to overspend even more after they're taken over. Sometimes makes me wish we overspent just to get bought on the cheap and get financially doped like many of our traditional lower league rivals have been. No financial rewards for clubs like Rochdale, Colchester and Cheltenham for being run efficiently yet tons for Bournemouth, Rotherham and Bury for flirting with liquidation, it's just not right.

FFP doesn't seem to stop us, and it's never stopped Pilley at Fleetwood, and Steve Evans at his previous clubs Crawley and Rotherham.
There's ways around it, which I'm sure Vince will be more than aware of.

Doesn’t his business sponsor the shirts? Thus can just up the sponsorship money?

Think there's a limit, but he could re-name the stadium like we did or some other sponsorship method.

Pilley at Fleetwood has his company offices on the car park at the stadium. He charges his company a higher rent level than if it was in London, so it goes straight into the club coffers as income.

I think we are desperate for Jan and Jack to have a go at the transfer window. Not even been able to sign anyone on loan yet and we have so much **** we signed under Caldwell and Wilson in the squad i'm sure Jack will get rid of.

With the impending takeover on the cards also it may be interesting to see how that pans out and i'm sure the potential new owners won't want us to go down.

Think we have agreed to signed Drew Talbot back from Portsmouth, a winger from Sheff U already and fully expect 4 or 5 to depart fairly quickly.

Still don't think you'll go down.

Thanks to a certain Mr Aspin turning Browns crock of shit into a team I think we should be safe from this thread now.
Had the change not been made we would of been here to the bitter end.

Off you go McGhee.
No matter if the performance was better. For a start it would have been impossible for the team to play worse than they did against Grimsby and Cheltenham. Secondly, he still doesn’t have a clue what his preferred team and formation is and finally there is no situation in which it is appropriate to bring Alex Nicholls on.

No reason why not, had Aspin been in charge from game 1 and we had the form we have had under him we'd be clear in 3rd now!

After yesterday's win and Colchester drawing, we'd be 2nd. A point behind Luton.

Who is the saviour this time? From the East apparently. The Iron Bank of Braavos?

The window will only weaken the squad further IMO, quick sales and money made

Not entirely sure but rumoured to be a Chinese company with links to oil in Argentina and soon to be Scotland. All sounds interesting with a big dose of caution.
Talks been on going since Sept and representatives were at the game on Boxing Day apparently, though the middle man apparently is linked to the CEO in place currently so not sure what that means but we may be seeing the back of Allen and Carson very soon if rumours are to be believed.
They seem fairly serious however with talk about them wanting to build a new training ground and backing Lester in Jan to ensure we stay up. Jan would have been interesting anyway, but this may spice things up even more

Anyone got any idea on Port Vale's points per game under Aspin, where they'd be in the league with said points, how Aspin compares to Brown, etc etc as I can't seem to find it anywhere on this forum.......

Fuck off you prick
Now as your sig is warning people how not to talk to you so as not to upset you, you then telling someone to fuck off you prick when he's actually said nothing wrong takes the piss a bit don't you think?
