Not finished necessarily, but he'll probably not want to leave the area. Maybe one last role of the dice with a well-off Conf North side.

Could that be us by any chance. If im honest it all depends on the play off final. If we get promoted and we will be turning full time. He is a player I know we tried to sign last season so I would guess it would he try again this summer but I imagine we would have more chance if were up

FA Trophy hero Jason Walker and promotion-winning captain Simon Grand are leaving Barrow AFC after being told they will not be offered a contract for next season.

The duo are among eight players not being offered a new deal by Bluebirds boss Paul Cox.

Local youngsters Alex Newby, Danny Eccles and Brad Carroll are also leaving AFC, along with Paddy Lacey, Mo Fofana and Dan Pilkington.

Alex-Ray Harvey, Andy Parry, Steve Williams and Elliot Newby will all be offered deals to keep them at Holker Street for next season.

All good decisions to me. Walker has left because of money, others are all Conference North at best. Our squad now looks very slim, but we've reportedly got plenty of signings lined up.
Jason Walker and Simon Grand will end up at County I guess.

no - we released him although he's done well this season - I think he's just not 6'6" like Cox likes.
he could do a job at Southport, Guiseley, Chester or Wrexham

2 of those teams are bigger than Barrow

That's interesting, because I don't think that was widely known about. Though he was looking for a new side at one point because he had a clause that meant if he played 25+ games he'd get a new deal (that was removed eventually by Walker). I would say that he would sign regardless of promotion - he'll want about £700p/w, and I'm sure Fylde can oblige.

maybe - but he's not being released through lack of ability - just that he doesn't fit into the 6'0"+ striker roll that Cox likes.
Which 2 by the way? Wrexham and ?

We have released Tom Richards and Luke Oliver this morning. Oastler has to prove his fitness in pre-season and Browne is still on holiday

Good player but he didn't feature at all after he totally left his man to score a free header from a corner/ free kick on 80 minutes in the Cheltenham home game. The game was level at that point and the boys had worked their socks off to keep it that way intil he went missing! Getting a second yellow v Dover I think in the last few minutes was another bit of stupidity that springs to mind.

He always showed in his small stint here that he had the ability to be far higher - unfortunately his attitude is absolutely horrendous. Glad we were shot of him - although I was having nightmares of him scoring a hat trick to confirm our relegation had it gone to the final day!

It's been announced that the 'club' have started discussions with Garry Hill and Steve Thompson about extending their contracts beyond 2016/17.

Good news. Now just give them a half decent budget.

Woking will have to release both a retained list and an 'In Memorandum' series of obituaries for those players who died throughout the season.

Woking's players have been on holiday since January - about 2 weeks before Aldershots went on holiday....

On second thoughts, the 'announcement' about extending Garry Hill's contract is probably a 'at least we tried' when he inevitably leaves because the budget gets reduced.

It'll be fun saying 'I told you so' (for a millionth time) when if it happens.
