Stop playing mind games, man!

Gateshead are one of the best teams we've played this season, but it would be unfair to say get a result on the last game of the season against league leaders, on there own patch, with mass injuries and nothing to play for.

Mind games, you've lost me there? We've nowt left to play for, so dunno why mind games would come into it, just telling it like it is.

I was joking with the Barnet fans who were saying because we thought that Barnet would beat you that we were "playing mind games"

Hang on, I thought Kiddy had nothing to play for and were a shambles.

Heard the same things about Gateshead before they went to Grimsby.

True, but you're home for this one and Kiddy got some of their senior players back wheras Gateshead seemingly have 10-12 of their squad out for this one.

All i'm saying is I expect you to win. I'm sure Martin Allen expects you to win, aswell as most of your fans. You should win that game. We should win ours. Things obviously don't happen as they should at times but I'm not expecting you drop points, it's easier that way. I'd imagine you guys expect us to win our game?

Of course we expect to win, will be favourites to win, and more often that not would win.

But that's because ultimately we are a better side. Nothing to do with the cliches of, they have nothing to play for, they have all of these injuries, their players are on their holidays already. That talk only serves to possibly introduce complacency or add undue pressure.

In the same way, we'd expect you to win because you are much the better side. The level that Alfreton can play to won't be good enough on its own to match you. If you don't win it will be down to either you not performing or bad luck.

Agreed, that's pretty much what I'm saying isn't it. I'd expect you to win anyways. I still think them having injuries will help you however. Having nothing to play for less so, because I expect any professional football player to want to win a game, but sometimes it even that slight extra drive can help a little.

So we both agree that we're both expected to win and you're expected to be champions, which is all I was saying in the first place?

So bloody nervous for this now, still a whole week of work to persevere through yet.

I'm going to avidly stick by a prediction that we'll come close but no cigar, as we at Barnet tend to typically do. I'll never shake that horrible feeling of losing at Northampton after the heroics of the Wycombe match at Underhill two years ago. Think we'll draw, spending most of the game coming agonisingly close to scoring. Not sure if I'm dreading or buzzing for it!

Will be electric at the start of the match though.

Nah, you will win easy. Gateshead been losing games left, right and centre lately, you're at home and you're players will be buzzing to win it on tv. I will be very surprised if you are not 3-0 up at HT. No need to be nervous.

 I wish. I know you're trying to play mind games, but Barnet don't do things the easy way. Also, look at our record against teams who have been on bad runs: both Lincoln games (1-2 and 4-1) Kiddy home and away (3-3, 1-1), Wrexham away (1-0), Torquay home (2-3), Halifax away (1-1) etc etc. We don't often beat the big, ex-league teams at all, let alone when they're in bad form. Yes we may win, but I wouldn't put anything on it and I certainly wouldn't put anything on it being a walkover. These teams raise their games to play us and as proven time and time again this season, it's hard for us to cope. It'll be even harder to cope with all the added pressure around this game. But let's see.

When were Gateshead an ex league team?

Gateshead are on their holidays, they will probably be on the piss all week.

Don't pretend you don't think it's already won, it is.

Congratulations.

All the same, Gateshead May as well be. They're a good side regardless of whether they have anything to play for or not. People were saying the same as you about Kiddy, and they put in their best performance of 2015 against us.

It's the league leaders in a big game in front of TV - they'll turn up all right.

Gateshead were in the Football League before 1960. However, the current club reformed in 1977 so I'm not sure there is a direct link between the two.

How can you may as well be an ex league team? They either were or they weren't surely?!

Mate, its yours. Well done.

I know who nervous it was on the final day of the season - waiting a few days before the final game of the season knowing if we slipped up Kidderminster would be there to overtake us.

Barnet have a really easy game at home, should be no problems there.

Really hope Gateshead win I think it's much more likely Barnet will collapse in the play-offs after being top for pretty much the whole season than if Bristol lose out.

This whole thing is getting silly now, does anyone want to actually win this league? Still can't get over Dover equalising.

I can't believe no one has started the #DoverDynamoes2015 and #KiddieKondors2015 campaigns yet.

I don't think anyone wants to embarrass themselves further after the Macclesfield one.

We were on good runs going into both of those games. Well, as good as you can be going into the third game of the season (4 points).

I don't know it is so hard to get over. We have drew a lot of away games this season and many to a lot worse teams than Dover.

You've won it Roly Poly.

An early goal for Barnet to settle it on Saturday, and then Grimsby v Bristol Rovers in the play-off final.

Looks like Bristol Rovers will break the record for a Conference league game and may beat the highest including play-off semi-finals. Congrats.

Both our game and theirs are now sold out except for a few in the away ends which is a brilliant advertisement for the league.

Going to be comfortably the highest crowd we have ever played in front of. Our previous best was 6,900 at Luton. Judging by the result 3-0 ( OG, Goalkeeper error and worldie) we struggled then!
