Anyway... Going all Devon Lad

Cobblers to draw up Barra and Scunthorpe loanee Tyrese Sinclair to do his parent club a favour and score a last min equaliser against Brovers
That would involve Tyrese Sinclair playing which is very unlikely

There's no way on this earth that Bristol Rovers won't win comfortably but I think Northampton will get the result they need.

That's pretty much how i'm looking at it, although Coutts out is a massive blow for us as he is a massive cog in the wheel.
If we dont win then we wont deserve it anyway and will make it easier to take.

Chipmunk will be a long in a minute to see they’re still angry at something that happened in 1934 and that they’ve beat us already or something else and that means we’ll lose 0-3.

Whatever happens it’s gonna be a rollercoaster, and why we all follow a lower league club.

In fairness I could see Scunthorpe fluking one somehow and mild concern from Rovers for about 5 minutes until they stick 4 or 5 in. Coutts or no Coutts, Scunthorpe are a mess and will be playing predominantly kids. Absolutely zero chance that they'll even get a draw.

Being without Coutts in the playoffs however....he had our midfield and the referee on toast and looks intimidating to play against.

Glenn Whelan hasn't let us down though. Whether he can play 2-3 games in quick succession is another thing though. Good job we have plenty of options

And Mansfield take the lead

Mansfield could be in pole position in the 90th minute and score an own goal, we’re serious bottlers.

unless Northampton score very early and then don't concede a goal the only thing that is certain is the team in 3rd place will change half a dozen times tomorrow

You just cant get the same experience watching big Prem clubs. It's a completely different ball game both on and off the pitch.

In fairness those stripey shit heads up the road from us absolutely love Glenn Whelan but he must be ancient by now!

It's great to have options, but none of the options will have the influence of Coutts. He reminds me of Keane...a real nasty bastard with a chip on his shoulder and a big gob but can also play, you love to have him on your team.

It's like us with Conlon...we have options to replace him, it's just that none of them are as good. It weakens the team and I'm certain we wouldn't be fretting about results tomorrow if he'd been in the team for the last few months.

Yeah I think most teams need a Coutts type player to succeed. He is important for us as we play out from the back and he sits in front of the back 4 and links everything together. He was useless for the first half of the season mind, took him and a few others time to get going, otherwise we'd almost certainly be up already.
Finley, Evans and Anderson would be able to play that kind of role but then we lose their attacking threat. Then again we have decent players on the bench like Nicholson, Rodman and Thomas to come in. The advantage of having a big squad full of quality

I guess that's where I'm going with it. We have quality within the squad but none are as good as Conlon. No league 2 team has high quality throughout....ample replacements that can do a job , yes, but ultimately not as good as the main man in that position.

Tried to explain this tonight to a few United/Lpool/Chelsea fans at the pub. They didn’t get how nervous I was already about the game, they all wished the cobblers well but found it funny how anxious I was. Not the same at all.

It's because generally they turn up to a game (although most of them don't even go) expecting to win. Us lower league fans always know it can go tits up at any time. A premier league game is weird....the fans feel so far detached from the players it's just so cold and flat.

The only mate I know who has sympathy with me is a Spurs fan. They have had their fair share of let downs over the years and he understands the pain.

Probably because we are talking some serious Hollywood movie type shit for us to get automatics am pretty relaxed about things for tomorrow. I’d put it about 60% playoffs, 39% our season ends tomorrow and 1% something Vale fans will be talking about for decades.

Even if the season ends tomorrow this has been some real good fun this season overall. Benefit of having such an evenly matched league.

Yeah I’m chilled, wife was like you’ve been a nightmare and worked up for weeks, why you spending all that money going down there tomorrow if your chilled about it?

Ultimately what will be will be. We almost certainly won’t go up automatically tomorrow (some fans have put bets on which would pay off their mortgage if we do!)

If we don’t make the play offs we won’t have deserved it by losing the last four and clearly weren’t ready and with everything that’s happened this season context must be taken.

I used to follow Vale home and away but since having kids the wife wanted me to cool it so a 4 hour each way road trip to watch the boys tomorrow is a nice novelty and will try and enjoy it regardless.

Still pissed with Exeter for that postponement in 2009ish when I went down on the train for it to be called off as I got to the ground! Finally get to tick it off 13 years later!

Good to see the images of Carol in Exeter and the fans already down there tonight should be a decent atmosphere.

I’ve been mentally exhausted with the stress the last few weeks of it all so after the pathetic effort Monday it just feels like meh let’s just enjoy the game.

I'm like that. If we don't make it, then so be it. It's just nice to think we're not going to get relegated to the national league.

I'm in a similar position to you. I've seen Vale all over but since having kids I don't tend to get to the aways as much. Had a great day out in Liverpool for the tranmere game. Make the most of it!

Had something recent with a few mates who support PL teams.

As soon as I said, “imagine, you’re walking to the stadium” - I’d lost them

Did I hear correctly that DC is back tomorrow leading the team again as manager?

That’s one hell of a boost for you

Yes announced today. I had a feeling he might with the situation to try and rescue the play offs. Crosby has done a phenomenal job really and his stats for caretaker will be ridiculous but he isn’t as proactive with the subs for instance so think it will be a huge help. If we do make the play offs regardless of tomorrow I’d feel more positive of doing something with him back.

I get a lot of ooohh Port Vale and stuff (I live in Leicestershire) and they don’t get it, when teams like ours win something it means everything, because let’s be fair most of the times we are suffering fans and it’s a rare high.

Can’t imagine it’s such a buzz winning 3 or 4 trophies year on year for instance! It must become the normal.

That said my local side Leicester City which most of my family and friends support are slightly different in that they have rarely seen success and now have lived the ultimate dream the past few seasons!
