National League Proper matches only, you regional lot have your FA Cup thread

Aldershot v Forest Green Rovers
Barrow v Macclesfield
Braintree v Boreham Wood
Bromley v Woking
Dover v Sutton United
Eastleigh v Maidstone
Guiseley v York
North Ferriby United v Chester
Solihull Moors v Southport
Torquay v Dagenham & Redbridge
Tranmere v Gateshead
Wrexham v Lincoln City

For me Aldershot v FGR is the pick of the matches this midweek, the Shots are in good form, and obviously FGR are the new Galaticos. Braintree v Boreham Wood on a Tuesday may be the lowest crowd of the season for those who care about such matters

Dover away is a tough one for Sutton. Historically our record there is OK, with one defeat in my 20+ years of Sutton supporting (albeit that one defeat was 6-0). No Nick Bailey who's suspended, and Paul Doswell probably won't be in the dugout again, having missed Saturday's game v Guiseley due to his Father being taken ill. Get well soon Dos senior.

As for Guiseley they may see Tuesday's local derby against York as the chance to get that first win. Unlucky not to get one point minimum on Saturday, they may see a York side who haven't won away in 3 England managers as a chance to get a W in their form guide

Bookies have it as a pickem, personally think we're underdogs for this given how Lincoln score at will and we're second only to North Ferriby in the lowest goals tally..

We'll already have to change the line up again from Sat, as I'm presuming Jordan Evans will miss the game (and Tranmere on Sat) due to being with Wales U21s - which is a shame as he played really well in centre mid v B.Wood, I hope he slots straight back in there after international duty.

Another 0-0 on the way seeing as we cannot play any other way.

Probably either a 4-0 loss or a 2-1 win.

The start of three big games coming up - Bromley (A), Sutton (A), Torquay (A).

We'll be able to name five substitutes this time as Connor Essam and Nathan Ralph return. Could do with Jake Caprice coming back from injury - that's the main one really. Need to win one of Bromley/Sutton.

Really, York haven't won away in 3 England managers? Probably be a draw at Guiseley then.

No reason for us to change a wining side this week I don't think, unless we sign a striker.

Still waiting on news about Marriott's suspected broken elbow, so we only have 2 strikers available in Rhead and Bonne, although Muldoon can play up there if needed.

Been looking forward to the FGR game for a while now, they will come and play football and that will suit us down to the ground, as we are a very good counter-attacking side with loads of pace. It would appear Forest Green are scoring a few goals, we have only conceded one at home this season so are probably due to let a few in. I think it will be an entertaining draw, 3-3.

I feel like we haven't been putting our chances away for a while now; hopeful tomorrow might be the night that changes but not entirely optimistic. Definitely looking forward to it.

We are scoring very few goals of late, but aren't conceding many either, but it should be an entertaining game if the playing styles are as similar as they were in our home game against Eastleigh. I can't make it tomorrow evening, but predict you will get a decent game, probably a 1-1 draw.

Rovers have Hughes, Jennings S and Ihiekwe banned for the Heed game, Maynard possibly on international duty and some long-term injuries, but Jay Harris back to bolster a weakened midfield. A few weeks ago, even with breadbin in charge, I'd have been fairly hopeful of a win in this one, but far less confident now.

I'm probably more in agreement with Greenacres here. Waddock has this reputation for attacking, entertaining football but this season we're in the playoffs more for our defensive solidity than we are for our attacking displays. We beat York because we were outstanding defensively, and we will need to be as good in front of our on goal to get anything tomorrow.

My gut feeling is it will either be 1-1 or FGR might nick a 2-1 win.

Our match at Solihull is the only match in the country tomorrow deemed worth televising. All of those other matches listed are completely insignificant in comparison and not even worth passing comment on.

I'm expecting Sgt. Cowley to be a little bit too good AND clever for Private Mills.

Inevitable that Guiseley will beat York for their first win.

But for their woeful finishing, Gateshead could have had 3 or 4 against us. But for some amazing luck and poor finishing, so could York on Saturday. We do continue to gift sides chances, and soon a decent side will take them, that said we score plenty too.

Away at Barrow with our tallest player suspended. We'll lose.

We haven't really made the most of our set-pieces yet (maybe stats say otherwise, but it doesn't feel like that), but it's surely only a matter of time - there's a string of players queueing up in the box for every corner.
Similarly, we haven't really got to grips with a long ball game either - the one time we tried to rely on it this season (Tranmere away) we were shambolic. It's not so much an aerial side, but a powerful side.

Think Daggers could struggle in the next two (away to Torquay and Eastleigh) with Boucaud being away on International duty. He's probably been my player of the season so far. Broken up the play excellently in front of the back 4 and threaded passes through to the players in the hole for fun. He makes us tick and the games we've had without him have seen us just lack that bit of quality in the middle.

I'd take 1 win from the next two just to keep us ticking over.

Against anyone with any kind of physical presence we tend to lose. We're a small team and our more technical style doesn't really work against bigger teams. We're always most likely to concede from set pieces, Flinders is pretty suspect from crosses and most outfield players are a bit too small. And you've got Bully in your team, he'll most likely score against us.

Then again as a counter attacking team we're up there with anyone in this league. That could be our chance.
