All depends what Cambridge turns up. At the moment, who knows?

If we turn up like we did at Plymouth and Orient then I expect us to get something. If not, comfortable Cobblers win.

obviously a tough one but I'm hoping we show no fear, try and play some decent stuff and give it 100%.

Money knew how to beat wilder and I got the impression he enjoyed doing it but will Derry?

Probably not.

Think we have lost all home and away games to cambridge since they have been promoted. That being said I fancy us to end that run Saturday..

3-1 win.

We'll stuff them. 3-0.

I'm not going as I'm running a half marathon on Sunday and standing up for 2 hours on Saturday afternoon isn't the best preparation. We're obviously up against it but we do tend to raise our game (not this season, I mean over the last few seasons) when we've needed a performance. So hopefully we'll do this on Saturday.

The good thing us we have no pressure on us so can play with freedom and anything other than a defeat will be seen as a great result.

I'm with Arbury as I think it was RM who really deserved the credit for those 3 consecutive wins and I think SD has still got a long way to go to reach RM's tactical nous. Such a shame he lost the dressing room and had to go.

I'm missing this one, and if I'm being honest, it's no big deal. What is a big deal however is that I can't listen to Johnno as my U's player expired and I can't re-subscibe because my bank froze my credit cards after some cnut used my card to purchase some mobile phone services ( ??? I think) for close to a hundred quid. I know it's only temporary until they investigate or whatever it is they do, but it's far from ideal having to go one week or so without access to my credit cards.

I have to make do with Twatter then :sna:

Bloody hell Vanni you're not turning into a Money sympathiser are you? He had absolutely sod all tactical nous for all bar one month of the last year of his reign, with a lot of his decisions bordering on completely insane, and whilst Derry has been far from faultless his record is currently considerably better than what we conjured up in that last year with his hands considerably more tied than Money's were in his final 6 months.

There are a lot of people jumping to conclusions on him before he's even had a full summer to properly shift things around.

Absolutely not Tom ;) I wanted him gone as soon as I started hearing the rumours of players not wanting to play for him anymore. That's the only logical step that needs to be taken when a manager loses the dressing room, irrespective of whether he's a Klopp or a Sunday League dilettante. Like you, I am willing to give him time, certainly at least till we see who he brings in the summer and whether he takes us forward or not, and by December we should be in a position to see the results and then make up our minds about him.

Yes he has steered us away from a (probable) relegation battle to just outside the po's but I'm not entirely convinced it was all his doing or because the players felt liberated after RM's dismissal. Another thing I'm uncertain of is his tactical know how, because he sometimes gives the impression of looking lost when we're playing poorly. So, the jury's still out afaic. What's not in doubt is he also acts like Money when he's talking about our opponents, esp in his post match interviews, and that's something I've grown tired of.

Not saying Derry's the answer or that he's better than Money yet, as it's far too early for that. Let's not forget that results and performances also picked up when RM took over.

So as you can see, I don't jump to conclusions, in fact it's rather the opposite as I tend to think long and hard before making up my mind. Unlike some of our fanbase who think Derry's the best thing since sliced bread.

How has furlong got on for you? He was excellent for us earlier in the season when Maloney was out injured.

He looks good, improving every game and I'd really like him to be our right back next season but sadly I think that's unlikely.

I don't think we can judge Derry's tactical nous (or lack of, if that's someone's argument) yet as he's still transitioning the squad to be honest. I will give him Morecambe away and Wycombe at home as good points but there have been some moments of horror too as you'd expect for a manager inheriting what he did. My only criticism at this stage would be that I think his use of subs could be better but I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

Money started off fine tactically but seemed to be too wary of the opposition - he was fine at combatting a threat but often struggled from an attacking sense. But he did seem prepared to try to change games with substitutions and changes of formation with varying success. I don't think Money's final year was a true reflection of his tactical prowess to be honest as by this point it was very much on the slide due to him losing the dressing room. He could have been a tactical genius but if the players weren't bothered about playing for him then it was always going to fail.

But yeah, let's give Derry time before we call him a tactically astute or tactically inept manager.

Think he's a really good player. Came in and was pretty steady, but he's been improving every time I see him play. Would love to sign him permanently in the summer but can't see that happening

I heard Furlong was decent going for but I'm yet to see it. He can't beat a player and seems afraid to put a ball into the box. Going the other way he is very good but I don't think he's a championship player. League 2 is his level from what I've seen.

1-1, Jimmy Spencer 91st minute equaliser. And Peterborough just blew a two goal lead at home. Lovely stuff.

Cambridge look to be getting an undeserved draw here then, sounds like they've been pretty dirty and cynical all afternoon. Sounds like Derry acted the c*** after the goal too. Nae bother, we are still going up.

Our play off hopes are almost gone and you're practically champions - from a league perspective, this result wasn't going to change either of those points that much. I'm just pleased we're now up to 9 games undefeated at Sixfields, nice record to hold.

Wilder for the first time has stuck his neck out and said we're up, good to hear Wilder!

Dirty and cynical? Ignoring the fact Collins should've had a blatent second yellow in the first half then.

Until the goal it was relatively even with Northampton slightly better but we'd absorbed it well and there had been no major chances created by either side. Why we made a sub before the corner, I don't know, and I disagree with leaving everyone back, and it cost us. We didn't really threaten then after that but it was a sweet strike from Spencer for the equaliser. No doubting Northampton were the better team but they were not streets ahead as we contained them very well.

Legge and Coulson absolutely immense. Ismail, Dunk and Berry very disappointing, Spencer proving as a great sub poor starter again, we have a few players like that seemingly.

Played it as we had to today and I'm absolutely fine with that, but let's be a bit more positive from the off at home next week, albeit against a resurgent Yeovil team.

Great strike by Jimmy. Meanwhile, we've just gone six hours without a goal...

Pleased to see we can still defend at Sixfields. Sir Jimmy is beginning to look like a better sub than starter. Our ambition was (rightly) limited.

Vale's 2-3 win was the cherry on the cake after a perfect view of our equaliser. It would have been a flat uneventful Saturday without that couple of seconds - funny old game. That said, Cobblers backed off and let us get forward for the first time in that last 5-10 minutes - and we have some goal scorers if the chances are provided/gifted.

(Edit: Almost) Never lost (Never see us lose) at Sixfields - it's nice to be someone else's bogey team, we've had enough of our own. Pity Argyle and Poxford couldn't join our efforts but at least they've livened up the play-off chase at both ends. Cobblers deserve to go up as champions. We're secure mid-table but it looks like Luton want it more.

You certainly are our bogey team ,but you have lost at Sixfields, 3-0 in 95/96 season. I thought the play acting yesterday was a disgrace, but it's up to the ref to stop it and that's a struggle when he doesn't know the basic rules. First time I've ever seen a match stopped for someone to tie their bootlaces ! I've not got a problem with the visiting bench celebrating a vital goal but Derry was bang out of order yesterday, he needs to learn a bit of class. That said we increased our lead at the top so its onwards and upwards.

I'd included the "almost" in all my previous posts - so sorry for getting carried away. Mr Derry was also slightly embarrassed by his antics but we forgive him - will you? Pretty please.

Derry, post match:

ON RUNNING ON TO THE PITCH TO CELEBRATE SPENCER'S GOAL

"I lost the plot for a moment there and I apologised to Chris (Wilder, Northampton boss) because I've known him for along time, but I thought I was the 12th man for a minute and I couldn't help myself.

"I'll always treat the opposition with respect and it wasn't disrespectful, I'm only interested in Cambridge and the job I've got to do."

We've been mugged so often since we came up that I'm pleased we've got that element into our game. We stopped moaning about it some time ago and decided to learn from the masters. Pity, and I wouldn't complain if the refs were more robust, but it is the way things are - and you/Wilder are certainly not above that approach when the situation dictates.

Apology accepted, we should take it as a compliment that these little ex non-league teams see a draw at San Sixfields such a big scalp. We can only hope one day we will get to play each other again;)
