Early shout that.

Quigley looks exactly what we need. You can't jump the gun on a hamstring injury he picked up last match of pre-season. Most hamstrings take 3-4 weeks to full heal, there's no doubt we gambled on him Saturday and it didn't pay off.

We could do with another option though to cover his injury, Reid isn't the answer.

When Chesterfield lost that Asante, they went and got Rowe, Tshimanga etc.
I like Quigley I’m sure he’ll do very well if we can get him and keep him fit but Tshimanga is younger and a more pacy, powerful type, which I think would be better alongside Madden.

I’ve got a tenner on him at 40/1 and I think he’s probably overrated if anything. Absurd price - but you can get plenty on things in this league if you’re paying attention.
I think you should give me the winnings if it happens, recompense for the playoff drubbing

Ha nah I’m having it after Wootton missed out last season when he was 40/1. Missed two bloody penalties then got taken off them and went 12 games without a goal and still only finished a couple off Cheek, outrageous.

Nothing special from us today but so, so comfortable which is a great sign.

Barnet have 0 threat. Kewell won’t last long there.

As I said Saturday, we are right in it this season.

A solid performance from us. Alty tried to park the bus and counter or set piece a goal out of nothing to no avail. Waters looks a real player. 3 in 3 and he looks dangerous every time he gets in behind.

Our midfield trio of Summerfield, Woods and Warburton were impressive. Have to agree with the comment above, Dinanga was dreadful for Alty.

Alty fans, why were some of your fans kicked out?
According to an Alty fan on Twitter, our stewards tooled up and went looking for trouble and just waded in on them for absolutely no reason whatsoever. :fl: :fl: :fl:

1st half we looked good for the first 35 mins, hi the bar twice and a goal looked in the offing.
Second half same old doubts we had all of the last 3 seasons crept in. Substitutions then broke up any fluidity and we relied on pumping long balls forward in a hopeful fashion.

I was more disappointed that Saturday's defeat after this one. At least on Saturday we were on the front foot and playing football. Today we just looked like a desperate, clueless bunch of hardworking individuals and not a team at all.

Oh well, next up Wrexham.....GULP!

I can’t disagree with this. Mauro, Sagaf and Robinson kept things ticking over and look very handy. We look so pedestrian and predictable.

Stones 0-0 Southend. Terrific point for us, not to mention performance. Lack of a cutting edge up top the only reason why we're not celebrating 3 points this evening as Southend were there for the taking. Alot of work to do this week to get those critical signings in sooner rather than later.

Fair play to the Southend fans too. Minimal BBB stuff, all very respectful of our facilities and caused zero bother.

We’re going with the strongest bench ever seen in this league. Keep it 0-0 or something.

Vilhete is my favourite player. How he got overlooked by so many Barnet managers I have no idea. Can play anywhere, great feet and great work ethic. Him coming in off the left for us works a treat. Robinson has developed into one of the best midfielders in the league. Breaks up the play brilliantly and has added goals to his game.

Unfortunately, you guys are still persisting with Brundle in a midfield 2. It won’t work. Bloomfield is also not good enough in my opinion. He’s a lump that offers minimal goal scoring threat.

Bit of a carnival atmosphere in the town pre game. Wrexham fans in high spirits usually means we are about to get a deflating humping.

Kairo Mitchell’s time.

Seriously - high risk stuff from Burchnall. If we’re 2-0 down early playing an obviously weak team then he looks like an idiot. If we can keep it tight for an hour and throw Ruben/Cal on to win it, he looks like a genius.

Only one change for us tonight .cleworth in for Lennon. We look strong in all areas and a bench that could make a difference with Angus and Mcalinden

It don't seem in County's style to park the bus for an hour

Brundle was playing as one of our central defensive trio! His handiwork in contributing to your second goal has to be seen to be believed.
I’ve seen snails with more dynamism than Brundle and Payne, they both look like they’ve been cloned from the same genotype!

Pretty sure we’ll go for it from the off, not sure we’ve trained any other approach… that coming off in a game like this without our two best players is a very big ask.

Decent looking side. Cleworth is a youngster but looked decent in pre season and played well at Solihull.

Mauro is absolutely fantastic and a great guy to boot. Amazing versatility, huge leap on him and he is technically comfortable too. He did have some injury issues but really should still be here along with Johnson if TK hadn’t cut the purse strings to such a stupid extent before last season. You’ve got yourselves a gem there.

Reynolds on the other hand. Put him in the bin - with a balloon canister and he’ll be right as rain. The dickhead.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Entertaining game at the Rec, but I’d payed for a football match, not WWF wrestling. Two poor disorganised teams slugged it out( literally at times ), Aldershot desperately awful despite a few moments of decent play. Can’t really judge Yeovil,as we offered very limited opposition, but would say dodgy at centre-back, some decent creativity and strength in midfield, non-descript attack, despite Quigley’s efforts.
Not keen on the “game management “(time wasting), but that’s pretty universal now .Would just say it was totally unnecessary against our powder-puff attack.
Ultimately, a deserved 3 points, against one of the worst Shots teams I have ever seen. Don’t get too excited.

I agree, a top striker and it was bizarre he'd stayed there beyond the 19/20 season seeing as he was the best in the league even then.

When you pay £150k and £8k a week you get quality, it's that simple. So good luck to the lad.
We had him on loan for a full 5 months and he didn't play a single minute

You know what? I’m really struggling with how shit Barnet FC have become. It’s amazing how you don’t realise how much positivity your team brings to your life until you realise your chairman is a kleptomaniac intent on never selling the club whilst being managed by clueless Kewell, watching 4 of your previous favourites (fuck off Reynolds) walk through your new side, before then taking the piss on social media afterwards.

Its really depressing.

I think we would have rested them both whoever we were playing today, Roberts just back from a long lay off and Rodrigues just having had covid. If we can keep it tight hopefully the only one change from Wrexham might mean they are tiring after an hour or so and we can bring one or both of them on.

Any news on whether the celebs are actually there? Not following the build-up.

I wish I'd have snaffled up some of that 40/1 for Tshimanga top scorer now, I looked at it but just couldn't persuade myself that one of our players would end up top scorer in the league. I think the last one would have been Jack Lester in his first year? I mean Tshimanga still has a long way to go to be top scorer and there's so much competition, but 40/1 was a silly price.
I’ve got a tenner on him at 40/1 and I think he’s probably overrated if anything. Absurd price - but you can get plenty on things in this league if you’re paying attention.
Damn, I missed that. Ridiculous price. Was that the price pre-Chesterfield signing or after?
Positives - 3 wins, 3 clean sheets, 3 goals for Tshimanga.
Yep the clean sheets are the most impressive part of your start. Also, just so you know I've put in an application for your nickname this season to be (pen)sterfield and they've got back to me and said if you get one more before the end of September then the motion will be approved.
