Gateshead v Wrexham

Potential relegation clash in the first game with both teams hovering nervously above the trap door. Wrexham could go within 1 point of the top spot with a win away at Gateshead.

I think we'll see away wins in both.

Gateshead seem to be a tough team to break down since Watson took over. I can see a draw there.

Depends if Halifax have The Fleshlumpeater fit and available, as we were utterly unable to cope with him first time around.

Halifax can enjoy doing themselves out of 300 or so away fans after their pitch debacle, as well as the 3 points we will invariably gift them.

On paper, this is the only fixture we've had in months that's not against a top-10 team, but away at Halifax on a cold Tuesday night will surely not be easy.

That said, despite losing at home to Aldershot on Saturday, we certainly gave them a run for their money, and if we play like that again (and maybe take a couple of the easy chances we missed), then we should get at least a point.

We lost the reverse 0-3, also on a cold Tuesday night, but we are much improved since then.

Getting to that point in the season where we need to pick up some points, and with Tranmere and Fylde up next, a loss tonight would surely mean 4 on the bounce.

I think we've got enough to edge this one: 1-2. (Bonne, Holman)

Gateshead Win. Wrexham were knackered at the end on Saturday.

If Saturday is anything to go by, Orient will walk it. Easy win for them

No worries lad, get the champagne on ice, you'll win 2-0 and we won't lay a tackle on you. :ds:

Another utter bell end diva of a referee. Some of the decisions are utterly mind boggling.

We can't defend for shit but are creating chances. Should be level at half time really. Denton shoved in the box no pen given. If that was the other way with the way refs have been at the Shay this season it would be nailed on given. Then gets an even bigger shove on the half way line and he waves play on. Orient have found a way to play against Dents just foul and hope for the best.

To be fair, he's scored 2 headers against us already this season and he's about 9 foot tall. I'd give him a shove too.

Halifax resorting to hacking us down from behind. No-marks. Sounds like they’ve been utterly dreadful second half.

Have to say that this result is the proof that we’re too good to go down, considering the state of a few of the others at this end of the table. Comfortable 15th-ish by the end of the season.

I'm moderately satisfied with a point going up to play at that hellhole after a short turn around from a draining match Saturday. It's only a decent result as long as we beat moneybags Guiseley at the weekend though.

Agreed. Beating Halifax is the benchmark for any side in this league. :bdick:Orient among the most gifted divers we've seen this season, do you practice that in training? :bdick:

I thought we deserved the win, but we had some luck after Denton missed a sitter on half time. Neither side could defend, but we managed to tighten up after half time. Brill didn’t have a save to make second half.

Thought the Halifax fans having a go at Billy Heath at the end was harsh, not sure what more he’s expected to do after promotion last season.

We handled Denton a lot better this time round, mainly because we had two competent centre backs this time.

That second half performance was a great example of managing a game to be fair. Something we need to learn and quickly.
