Bit bizarre to be chucking out free tickets for this isn't it?

Yes, especially five days before a game when a lot of the eligible people for it (season ticket holders) have already bought extra if they wanted them in the first place.

Got to say, fair play to Mansfield for shifting close to 4k tickets with five days still to go. I imagine MK will give another 500-1000 tickets to Mansfield if they want them.

Well we’ve sold 4000 with 3 days to go before Saturday and it’s pay on the day as well still, so it’s hard to gauge.

Looks like MK could have a couple of players returning from injuries. Hope they've been out a while and aren't at the races come 3pm...

Even I can't remember their last games for us, but last time Baudry came back from injury he played his best game for us away at Northampton so hopefully he can do the same again.

Both are centre backs which is the position we've been hit hardest by, so even if it doesn't go our way on Saturday it's excellent news for the play offs.

We've sold (roughly) 11,000-11,500 so far in home areas with just over 2,000 tickets left for the lower tier.

Looking like attendance will be over 18k (including Mansfield).

Well if we’ve sold 4,500 or so by close of play today hopefully we can make it Upto 5,500

Mad that a season could be defined by a dodgy decision, an unlucky own goal etc etc. But then whoever doesn’t go up has that all again.

What an unbelievable end to the season.
Joy or despair.
Unlike a lot on here i have no disdain for Mansfield but that said from a selfish ( good away game ) point of view i'd prefer MK to go up.

Already lost Bury and probably Notts as decent away days out, been MK the once and that was enough for me.

Good luck to both sides.

But we’ve been here for 5 years and they’ve only had 1! We’ve done our time, surely?

Whatever happens Mansfield are a club that are improving in pretty much every aspect, that being said get the job done please lads!!!

Where is everyone pre-drinking, I imagine MK doesn’t have any proper pubs like Mansfield does!

I know mate, but like i said pure selfish point of view.
Against you it is a proper football match. Feels more like a day at the cinema or bowling when we play MK , it's just something for them to do.

Can't be having day on the piss in Nottingham taken away by Chesterfield, County and Mansfield in the space of 12 months !!!!

I think you might just have too much for them anyway. Unless you play how you did at Vale

I think a lot rests on Saturday for the foreseeable future - a side that could be remembered in history trying their hand in league 1 with all the clubs in it with decent away followings and additional money that comes with it - something the radfords deserve - all that vs being a talented side that bottled it when the big games came round.

For the love of god let it be the first one.

Irrespective - as you say the club is moving in the right direction.

As for where to drink it appears everyone’s concluded MK to be a soulless dump and going everywhere else - some are stopping in Northampton, some in stoney something or other - as were on the train down from manchester there’s a Wetherspoons close to the station so setting up camp there

Going to be a real swing of emotions either way, but that is what we follow football for I guess! If we don't make it then I will reassure myself that we would have struggled in league 1 anyway!

We’re doing a fan zone instead of the Red Dot Bar this week like we did against Crewe, although unlike that game I’m not sure if away fans will be let in purely because of how many are coming.

I assume you're just talking about Bletchley (the area where the stadium is), which isn't really Milton Keynes.

40% of the city is reserved green space/lakes etc. Trust me, as someone who has lived in lots of places in England and abroad, MK is one of the nicer urban areas to live in terms of pleasant surroundings.

I’m not going from what my view is, it’s just what the conclusion is - more in the pub sense of things.

I only know the Wetherspoons is there as I had client meetings with Santander which is across the way from there

Seems MK seems to have panicked - with the away following pushing 5,000 its now not pay on the day!

That’s because for league games the safety certificate only allows us a certain number of away fans and you’re creeping closer to that, and we don’t want to be turning people away so the sensible thing is to just make it all ticket for away fans.

I think I read somewhere that you need an MK based address to get in the home end as well, so that’s off the cards too.

I mean this is an abnormal game to the highest order - I recall Brentford being in a last day shoot out a few seasons ago for promotion - and though I was only a baby at the time you’ve obviously got Liverpool and Arsenal in the 89 season? We’ve said all season it’ll come down to this game, and it’s done just that.

5,000 is more than we’ve at home for 2/3rds of the season so appreciate it might be an odd one for you guys - I understand Northampton took about 7,000 recently though?

Any of the big away followings we've had here have been either cup (Man Utd, Chelsea, Coventry etc) or normal league games with not as much riding on it as this weekend for both teams. Wolves took nearly 10k and there wasn't any problem, Lincoln had 5.5k earlier this season and no problems. Coventry and Northampton both brought around 7k in recent seasons.

Think the concern is possible pitch invasion by either sides' fans who will both number in their thousands and the possibility of either side goading or celebrating in front of the other. Could see that going the wrong way very quickly with so many emotions running high.

As far as I’m aware all of the over 6k followings after we were given the top tier safety certificate have been cup games where the rules are a bit different. Maybe Brighton had over 7k but I can’t remember exactly. Northampton, Coventry etc have all been cup games when they brought that many.

Capped at 5.3k tickets with no pay on the gate now. 4848 tickets sold, with a rejig of some supporters who've already bought tickets to move up to the upper tier. Can't imagine this will go down well as no-one's going to want to be in the upper tier with no other fans. Also no further tickets on the day.
