What you saw from Mourinho last night is his style of football. Even when he struggled in his initial season Klopp didn't go to other grounds specifically set up to take a point away.

All we did was avoid the high press by not building play from the back so much, forcing you to attack through the middle when defending by leaving no space on the flanks and tried to counter through the middle - which fair enough didn't come off. Mou mentioned in the interview that we didn't have the penetration he'd hoped for at #10 and was going to move Rashford there to provide that + pace before he cramped up. It's called a game plan. Was we supposed to go toe to toe at your own game? When you're also further along in terms of the team's evolution?

Without wishing to get in the way of yet another United-Liverpool willy waving contest, you do have to wonder how long the Man Utd fans will indulge Jose and his style of play. They despised how defensive LVG was, yet have appointed someone who has made a career out of killing the big games with defensive football. It's brought him incredible success no doubt, but if they fail to make the top 4 (a very real possibility) despite spending in excess of £200m yet again, then it would be a tad hypocritical for them to all continue singing his praises.

Personally I'd say that, much like Wenger, Jose has had his peak in management (an incredible peak for sure), but he hasn't really adapted in the last few years. I can't see him winning another Champions League again, let alone with United.

He's been here for two minutes, if he doesn't get results after his honeymoon period then fans will likely want him gone, he's not our boyfriend.

Man Utd had no real attacking intent under LVG, it was just pedestrian possession football, with no risk to open sides up, it was a case of waiting for an opening.

Mourinho may get men behind the ball, but atleast his sides look to attack with intent when they retrieve the ball. It may be a bit overly cautious at times, but it's effective in important games, and has paid off plenty of times down the years.
