Gonna make our 10th signing tomorrow. Whispers again of Semedo and Douglas (released by Brentford), both of which would be cream worthy. But now people are saying it's Louis Reed. It's a good signing, but not the experienced head I'd prefer.

Not really followed much of what others have been doing but I think McNulty at Coventry will be a very good signing, Likewise Collins at Luton. For us based on our first friendly I think Paul Digby will be a very important player for us this season.

Not sure I'd be drawing that many conclusions from a game against the 'Malta Association Select XI' tbh.

Michael Doyle to Cov was one that stood out for me, along with McCormack at Luton they're the kind of players who can really drag a team forwards, but McCormack will probably get injured.

First encouraging signing of the summer. Richard Brindley from Colchester. Played 43 odd games for them last season.

What's he like Colchester fans?

We've finally announced the loan signing of Jordan Maguire-Drew from Brighton.

He scored 15 goals from the wing for Dag & Red last season and he's only 19. Not bad.

Just don't let the little twat do any interviews..... He'll get a lovely reception here. #crumble

Snap their hand off for £500k surely? That'd be a great fee for a promising but not exactly top of the range League Two goalkeeper.

Would be a good bit of business. I think we signed Mitov from Charlton with this in mind but would love him back on loan for the season.

I would say Norris is up there with the best in league two though.

yeah to right, he's an ok keeper but nothing more, saved a few pens and got in the papers a bit, plenty of exposure, cash in if it's anywhere near that amount.

Rather have lutons no2 keeper.

I'm surprised how negative my fellow Us have been about Norris. Sure, he's not the finished article but he's already one of the better keepers in league 2, with plenty of room to develop further.

When he first came into the team he struggled a bit with claiming high balls and commanding his area, but he has steadily developed and I'd say that he's decent at both now, as well as being an excellent shot stopper.

Kicking is his only real weakness I'd say.

£500k would probably represent good business for all parties; a decent return for us, Wolves get a keeper who would be decent Championship back up and with the potential to take over from Ruddy in a couple of years and Will gets to learn alongside an excellent keeper (and a decent hike in wages!).

He's ok and was fairly consistent last season. Better attacking than defending, but his distribution is frustratingly poor. Scored one free kick away at Morecambe around Easter time and then fancied himself as Beckham until the summer but never came close after his one strike.

Would have kept him, but he was certainly replaceable and it seems we've already done that. With no disrespect intended to Barnet, it's a surprising move as I'm sure he fancied himself to be moving back into League One really, presumably wasn't inundated with the offers he was expecting to be when he left.

We have signed a player. Richard Brindley

Second good bit of business it seems. Following on from a solid number two keeper, an experienced right back, a position we desperately needed to fill.

Get a defensive mid and striker and we're good to go. God knows how we trim down the 10-15 excess players in the squad though.

Very pleased with JMD, was a class act on loan for the Daggers last season, hopefully do the same for us this season.

Yup Norris has improved considerably season-on-season since his debut, his only real flaw now is his kicking, which as a Cambridge United goalkeeper is naturally about as good as a toddler's kicking ability. Still think he could do with bulking up just a tad too.

500k + sell on + loan back would be a great deal, without the loan back would still be OK but would be sad to see him go and would prefer not to have the uncertainty with our back 4 still not looking like it's complete with questions at centre half and left back.

Best signings by L2 clubs so far?
Without sounding too biased I think it's probably undeniable that Luton and Mansfield have strengthened the most during this window. Still a lot of signings to be made though. As has been said before though, it's come at a big cost.

From our side, McCormack, Stech and Collins have to be the picks, but you could argue for any of those we've signed to be in that group. Even more so if Sibbard signs.

Not so much how he faired against the standard of opposition who were very weak. More how comfortable he looked on the ball, quick passing, linked up very well with other players aswell and looked very sharp. Obviously will have a better opinion of him after the next few games against strong opposition.

I'd add Coventry to you two as well. Vincenti, Doyle, Kelly and McNulty are all really good signings and they were probably starting from a better base anyway, certainly than Mansfield.

I'd have those three some way ahead of anyone else right now, though, but it ain't played on paper.

JMD scored 3 of the Daggers top 6 goals of the season too. He will be a huge asset I am sure, for me probably our best pre season signing.
Sad that your best signing will be a loan who's only played in the conference...

You guys just spent 200k on a striker we had in the conference last season and are paying 4k a week,
Jamie Vardy and Andre Gray were in the conference...

Still too early to tell for us. Have a decent core of players. Difference makers in an attacking sense still likely to come.

Again, without sounding too biased, we really don't need too much strengthening to be a good bet for promotion this season.

We've signed two so far, one of whom is a squad player and the other (Moxey) should really improve us. As it stands now we only really need a RB and we're pretty much there. Look at our form from November last season and we (i think) picked up the most points between that point and the end of the season.

Obviously things will likely change massively should Watkins or Wheeler leave but there's been no confirmed bids for either so far.

I do fancy us to do very well this season as we've kept all of our best players together, whereas some of the bookies favourites have brought in a lot of players which is never guaranteed. That said, you've got to look at the facts and as much as he's a fat c***, Evans has a promotion track record when he's given a cheque book as big as him so Mansfield will be up there. Luton and Coventry look strong but something about Nathan Jones has me wondering whether he's got the nouse to get a club like Luton promoted.

I'd be leaning towards Lincloln as a good promotion bet. They've got some good players in plus their management team seem great. Add to that they've got momentum and their attendances will be very healthy too.

Anyway, what do I know. We will most likely lose our first 5 games and the Tisdale out protests will start again!!!
