Happy to be wrong but I think most of his reds are after two yellow cards, often professional fouls, or bad tackles involved.

You're right it's rarely a terrible challenge straight red.

I definitely put him in the bracket Martin Allen used when he said 'just jogging around'

I can remember:-

Swindon H - Elbowed a guy.
Crewe H - Second yellow, think that was a tackle tbf.
Swindon A - Told the ref to fuck off or something.
Accrington H - Awful tackle that one.
Wycombe A - Punched someone off the ball.

I feel like he's had more than this though.

You Notts County fans finally seeing Liam Noble for what he is?

We also thought he was good for a bit.

He's not a terrible footballer per se, he can pipe a decent fifty yard pass every now and again and scores a few good goals from the edge of the area. When we came down we all thought he'd be dominating games at this level, but it ain't happened.

Loses the ball four out of five times he has it because he's trying to play a Hollywood pass/shot, offers absolutely nothing defensively at all so can't play in a 4-4-2, has no positional discipline and just ends up roaming about trying to play fifty yard passes. Also an absolute bottler and flat track bully - a decent number of goals this season but all against other poor teams. He's hidden every time we've had a genuinely big game or played someone near the top of the table. Oh, and all he'll get sent off three times a season which gets tiresome.

Two relegations and bottom eight in League Two in three years tells its own story for our Liam. Can't see him ever playing a good role in a successful team, too unreliable.

We gave you Spencer tbf, got to take the rough with the smooth. ;)

This is almost word for word how I described Noble a couple of summers ago on this forum (or maybe the old one).

Yup. I suspect that Cambridge fans will for a bit too.

He's the classic case of a player with probably too much natural ability to be playing at this level so you get a bit excited seeing him the first few times, but eventually realise that the reason is because the rest of his game is Conference North standard.

He stood out more last season too because of how fucking tedious and dull the rest of our team was. When your other midfield options are Alan Smith (who can't run), Gary Jones (who can't run and now plays centre back for Southport), Nicky Wroe (now playing centre back for Halifax) and Elliott Whitehouse (now playing for Nuneaton Town). He looked fucking incredible in amongst that lot.

You've also described Stefan Oakes with those bold bits!

I can't take Notts County fans comments serious when they said Jimmy Spencer was a League 1 striker.

He was before his injury. He not doing it for you lot then?

Jeff Hughes doesn't seem to be doing ote for you either and he was a very good League One midfielder whilst with us, on a totally different level to Noble.

I like Jimmy but I don't think he is as good as you lot made out at the start of the season or when he signed for us. He's way too inconsistent to be a regular with Corr.

He got another red for violent conduct today.

Sent off for violent conduct against the team and manager that are apparently going to sign him in the summer. Only Liam Noble.

I think he was hoping to play League 1 football next season with us going for Play offs so got himself sent off. Very professional off him.

I've heard the Noble rumour is just that, a rumour. But I dunno, as the guy who told me this rarely gets anything right.

FWIW, I don't think it's a good idea to sign him, when looking at his disciplinary record.

Releasing Noble was one of the few things Kavanagh got right during his disastrous spell in charge here.

Abbott thought the sun shone out of his arsehole.

I'm guessing it was a straight red so he misses our game on the final day, and he missed the home fixture in December due to a suspension. Glimpses of quality but minimal discipline.

If there is a hint of truth in the rumour, then I hope today was the final stage in the infamous Jez recruitment process - he failed the interview.

Bad news - Abbot is now our chief scout. Anyway,we don't want Noble.

Abbott was basically in charge of transfers here and put together the worst standard squad I've ever seen at Notts. Derry could be a good manager but needs a new method for recruiting players.

I'd be amazed if this put them off signing Noble, they both love him. They kept playing him when he got sent off for dissent on his first game back ffs.

I honestly think Greg Abbott is the perfect scout and I'll explain why.

As manager he cost our club millions by giving away the likes of Paddy Madden & Nahki Wells because he thought they were shit. He even tried to give away Gary Madine, it was only when a championship club took him on loan that Greg realised he must be half decent.

Now he obviously has an eye for a decent prospect, but he thinks the ones with potential are shit. So if you're a manager and you've heard about a young player who you think may have a bit of potential, send your chief scout Greg to watch him. If Greg reports back saying he's good and worth signing, forget about him! but if he reports back saying he's shit and won't make it at this level...sign him up. You'll have yourself a gem that will go on to play at a higher level.

Just when you thought Notts couldn't get more batshit...

Cooper wants to bring in Nile Ranger

I'd be all for it, we need a headstart in the annual arms race of chaos we've had with Leyton Orient recently.

Ryan Lowe to us is a near-certainty.

Still find it hilarious 4 years ago Davis laughed off fans suggestions to sign him because he was too old. Genuinely think this is a signing made through Dario's wishes than Dull Davis'.

10 trialists in our Development League match with Luton last night, including Palace keeper, Chris Kettings, Owls centre/right back Will de Havilland (local lad) and Canaries right back Reece Hall-Johnson (local lad).

Big focus on recruitment from Chief Exec, Jez George, in matchday programme, web site and local press.

Might be something in it. Rumour doing the rounds here, too, but I don't think anyone knows for definite if his contract's up at the end of the season.

Would do well at Conf North level as he can get in to scoring positions but that's all really. Would only really work 2 up top as he has no technique, ability to hold up the ball or have any general skill except for inside the six yard box. That already rules him out of Hignett's teams. Think he'd more likely get a Conference National side but you never know, offer him the money and he might be up for it.

Seems a strange choice then, as all our forwards at the moment have good technical ability, and are expected to join in outside the box. Nice to be linked with someone League teams have heard of again.
