Story is we have signed a second player but it's all hush hush.
I'm hoping it's Josh Wright but that's probably wishful thinking.

According to our unofficial correspondent he's class, which has kept me from my bed for the last 20 minutes. If this turns out to be hyperbole, someone is getting cut!

Now hints from our team doctor that he has previously played for us. Makes Josh or Luisma favourites

Good signing for Barnet I reckon. Not too much of a risk involved (unless you've paid a fair whack?) and even if he doesn't deliver the goods you know Akinde will always deliver 20+.

Yeah, Tarpey didn't want to come to us because he'd have to move and it was less money than he was getting for working and playing part-time football. Imagine he's able to stay at home while at Barnet?

Apparently we tried for Tarpey but we couldn't afford him.

He obviously wanted more than 20 smackeroos a week.

Maybe we should start a pushy parent XI?! In the Tottenham game a few weeks ago he was impressive Bakinson, however he was a bit like a trifle... all mixed up; it was probably right for him to move on as he wouldn't get ahead of four of others in the starting line up.

No indication of the fee as of yet; apparently we turned down £500k earlier in the window, and there's been talk of it being a "fantastic fee."

Signed a late deal to bring Keshi Anderson in on loan from Palace. Tried to get him last season in League 1.

Finally the Ajose type poacher we really needed. Will prove a vital piece in the puzzle I think. Only worry I have with this team is defensive cover. No excuse for us not to mount a challenge.

If you fancy a bit of entertainment tomorrow morning make sure you're tuned in to the 'pusb' hashtag on Twitter once the Cov Telegraph break the news that 'little old Barnet beat the Mighty Coventry City to the signing of a non-league striker'. It's going to be meltdown city.

I already predict to see 'Can't compete with Barnet for signings? Oh how far we have fallen.." at least 50 times tomorrow.

Some really interesting deadline signings. The 2 Derby youngsters and now Anderson is great business. Just wondering who in the present side will be dropping out to accommodate them. Anderson was on the bench for Palace last weekend, too. With him and Woolery up top there will be some scorch marks on the pitches, for sure.

There really is no excuse now if we aren't right up there this season.

I read it a bit differently, Bakinson basically saying he doesn't feel he is developing in our youth team and wanted more first team chances. That's absolutely fair enough and he should have been given them seeing as our midfield was broadly shite last season. Over the summer we dramatically improved our midfield, further reducing Bakinson's potential game time, and he said fcuk it, if I'm going to be playing u23 football it might as well be higher up the chain and lo and behold...

Can't really fault Bakinson's take based on that article regardless of the accusatory tone Jones has tried to paint it with. I really do like Jones but for all the talk he hasn't given youth much of a chance outside of the Checkatrade, Justin being the only real exception. Even in the Checkatrade he reverted to a strong team once Wembley was in sight.

That article to me basically says if Bakinson had been given any real encouragement he'd have a reasonable shot of some minutes in league games he would have stayed, but Jones would prefer a squad with Cook and Gambin in so off he goes.

Knowing 2020 though it's probably a fuck off massive fee so never mind.

It's disappointing as he looked a real classy player to me. I see Hinds who was supposedly nowhere near our first team picture has gone on loan to cheltenham having scored twice for Bristol City this season in the league cup already! Perhaps Bakinson has seen that and thinks he has more of a chance of getting some minutes in the next 6 months or so out on loan from a Championship side than he's likely to get here.

A real shame that of those in the Youth Cup team it's only Justin who has really made any progress.

It's probably Akinola from us. We have brought in an 18 year old so can let him go. Played him out of position as a striker and when he moves on he will score for fun like Coulson has.

Don't say that, if Luke Imp sees it he'll spaff so much people in Lincoln will think it's snowed.

Who? Once JJ is back fully fit he will be playing ahead of Stacey, of that I have no doubts.

Hinds and Bakinson weren't close enough to the first team. Neither had affected it, so I'm not fussed about either of them leaving. We've got good fees for both and there's gonna be all the usual add ons. If Bakinson doesn't wanna be here then cheerio. He was the worst player on the pitch in the rearranged Hitchin friendly tbh.

Rate them both, but they're both just kids with no first team experience. "He's got huge potential" so do 95% of youngsters in youth teams. No one knows how they're going to turn out. Both of them are more likely to end up back in League Two than they are at Manchester Utd. Calm down.

This ain't just aimed at Kenny, aimed at all Luton Hats having a pissy little moan RE: Hinds/Bakinson the youth team.

Relax. We've had a marvellous summer.

Told you he was signing a year or so back. ;)

All got done last night, around 10pm, and had his medical around tea time.

He was injured for a long time and he's only appeared about 15 times but he's always looked a good player for this level when I have seen him, plus he did a good job at Burton.

Give him a good run in the team and I'm sure he will become a important player for you injury depending as he's prone.

Evans never gave him a chance, more than decent at this level if remains injury free. If I were a Cambridge fan i'd be happy to have him on board.

We signed Callum Lang and Adam McGurk at the last minute.

No idea on Lang, young lad on loan from Wigan.

What is McGurk like Cambridge fans? I see he was injured quite a lot last season. Jimbo is very good at getting the best out of players who have been crocked by other clubs, so hopefully this is another one of that calibre.

I'm more than happy, although still hoping that Kyle Howkins will turn out to be a gem (or even just turn out) when he gets out of the treatment room. He might well stay longer than January, when Josh Coulson is due back, as I assume Howkins will head back to WBA at some point.

As I've said elsewhere, I think I vaguely remember him being on the pitch occasionally, both in our and Burton's colours. He might well respond to some Bentley man management if he can stay clear of injury long enough. He''ll be no good up on his own but might work with Oliver - apart from the goal scoring bit of course.

The only solid memory is an irritating earworm of a chant that he inspired with some of his/our followers. I'm sure it'll find it's way to the Globe Arena eventually.

Not bleating at all, if the lad and his dad don't want to be at Luton Town he can quite happily foxtrot oscar, as long as we get paid well for it, which I'm sure we have been.

No keeper signed so we're stuck with Scott Brown's fuck ups :ffs: If Ainsworth thinks Brown is the best we can get i politely suggest he fucks off as he's lost the plot,a hard season ahead me thinks.

We've made our fourth signing today....

Midfielder Hiram Boateng on a free from Crystal Palace. Absolutely delighted with him as he's just the sort of physical presence we lack.

Have to say, despite losing Watkins and Wheeler, we've really added well this summer. Great stuff.
When we first signed Boateng I thought "brilliant" remembering what he had been like on his first stint at Plymouth. In his first game he didn't disappoint. But after that simply went missing in games to it got so bad at Shrewsbury away he was subbed after 25 mins. Next week sent back to his parent club. Funny thing the following sat we played Northampton who he had just signed for and I thought well if ever a guy was going to prove a point it was then -- After 25 mins we were 4 nil up and he was nowhere to be seen. The rest is history.

I was delighted when we signed Keshi last January on loan as I thought he would guarantee goals and be the fox in the box type. He scored a hat trick on his home debut for us in exactly that fashion and then never scored again. His build up play was really poor because his first touch was terrible and would then take ages to get the ball under control. He needs to play on the shoulder and use his pace but he never even really looked like scoring for us. Only thing is this all happened during the JED reign so he is probably amazing and just didnt suit the way we weer playing, although he didnt really deliver for Bolton either.
