We’d sold about 1,600 for today’s trip to Macc, but I can’t see that many making the trip over on a Tuesday night, now it’s been postponed.

441 Oldham at Mansfield, and they will not be bettered all season. Superb.
I get Burslems hardly a great catch yet only 60 more at our place and as quiet as a mouse.
Heard more noise in a cemetery

Oldham brought 650 to SJP last season - 500 mile round trip - great bunch of supporters who sang loud 'n' proud all match , ......

.......although you bauys lost it was a close run thing so at least I hope you enjoyed your visit to our very different city centre and to SJP and come baxk again this season.....cheers bauys - top fans.

For me it’s to do with the train station. Crewe is great because it’s a five min walk with a few pubs on the way. For Vale you have to go into stoke and then get the one carriage train to longport and then a fair walk or get a cab which adds cost. There’s also something about the away stand at Vale not sure what it is but from memory it felt a fair way from the pitch at the back. Just my opinion but I much prefer Crewe.

Can’t comment on the noise as I wasn’t there but I have to say usually our away support is decent for that. It’s about the only thing we’ve had going for us in recent years.

Strangely our away end is almost identical to the Oldham away end (think they've changed since I went) they used in the 00's early 10's.

Its got a very low gradient as it was a terrace although our fans seem to want to have that end and put away fans elsewhere (but police wont have it as it involves walking around footpaths which would be trouble waiting to happen.

I've said it before on here, the Vale away end would be better if they removed that bloody scoreboard that reduces the overall visibility if you are stood in the middle towards the back.
I don't have an issue with the gradient and it's a decent size if we are able to spread out a bit.

I've only ever been in to for a Testimonial so can't comment but its quite bulky, would be better in the corner between the Lorne Street and Hamil End or maybe stick it on top of the roof at the front.

I loved it in Vale’s away end, although at the time we we were in non league and it just felt great to be in a proper football league away end compared to some of the holes we were getting used to playing at.

Sold half of our 1000 for Chippenham away, not bad for a Sunday 12.45pm kick off. Sadly, moving it to a Sunday means the train there costs £80, and you have to change in Latvia.

Just one of those strange quirks i guess. I've noticed yourselves and Grimsby can take say 700 to some far flung outpost like Stevenage and then bring 500 to Vale. No logic.
But the station thing is spot on and i agree it is a ball ache or a taxi job.

We never travel to Swindon , usually the hardy 300 or so yet it isn't that far really. Yet we took 700 to Orient.

I think the whole game on Saturday was one of those cold drab wet bleak affairs where neither fanbase could really be bothered. It was the most 0-0 , 0-0 i've ever seen. Awful from both sides.

Well a good example as you mention it is Swindon and Oxford... close together yet we take 1000 usually give or take 100 to Oxford but 2-300 Swindon!

It seems strange from vale, the train station in Swindon is 10 minutes from the ground with half a dozen pubs on route, or go into town a lot more.
In Oxford, station is miles away, get to the ground there's nothing there!
STRANGE

Yes but its Oxford. Nice historic pubs in the middle, then cab to the ground.
I'm aware you're trolling though

Some away followings are pathetic! Some are fantastic! Then there is a lot in-between. But does any of it really matter?

The reason why I dont go Swindon away is because I've been twice and both times we lost heavily 6 0 and 5 2. I have no interest in going there ever again we have terrible record at there ground.
I have also been oxfords ground 4 times and we have lost all 4 of them aswell 3 of them were 2 1 losses so cant be arsed go there again anymore.

Mate I went Bradford last week and we won and went colchester so I'm undefeated this season. I'm meant be going scunthorpe as it's my mates birthday that day and we have a terrible record there.
