Not sure how to predict this game. We've not played to our true potential of late and with Danny out it means once again we might struggle up front. We need Collins to shine. Always seems to be in the shadow of DH but has the chance to step up and take more responsibilty. Sheehan back is a big plus. We've missed his presence and his ability at set pieces. I hope we attack from the off today and don't sit back. Grimsby fans don't seem that happy with their team at the moment and by dictating the play and snatching an early goal it could well turn their fans against the team. We know from experience what that does to confidence. The only concern I have regarding the result is that its a ground we don't usually do well at. I can't see our fans turning up in any numbers either. No just because of its unattractive appeal (Luton is also a ground with a similar reputation), but that its a fixture thats been done to death the past decade. Money it a bit tight this time of year and we have two home games in a week coming up.
Think we will sneak a 2-1 win but if we get that early goal then I expect us to score more goals. Been a while since we tonked someone.

Not feeling great about this I must say. Away form isn’t great at the moment, Chesterfield was a real shocker of a result, Danny out and a place we rarely travel well too both in terms of numbers and the performance the team puts in.

Without Danny and reliant on Collins I think we need to look at changing the shape away from the diamond. Let’s get Cornick in there, perhaps Gambin on the left, play a proper 433 and look to get the crosses into the box that he thrives off. Really don’t want to see him coming wide or deep to get in the game like he sometimes does. Give him service and he’ll score I dont doubt that.

Good to have Sheehan back, hopefully gives us some stability at the back to build off the Morecambe clean sheet and get Rea back in midfield. Think we need a bit of his bite back in there.

Got a feeling we're gonna win this, for no other reason than that League 2 this year keeps throwing up weird results and this would certainly be a weird one should we win it.

Luton have only beaten Grimsby twice away from home in 12 attempts, dating back to 1973!

3 times in 16 attempts actually. (3 in 14 in league games) 1-0 in 97/98, 1-0 in 11/12 and 2-1 in 13/14.

It's absolutely pissing it down here too so that won't be easy for good passing football on the deck, thankfully then that shouldn't affect us at all....... HOOF!! :bg:

Hate it when fans call players by their first name as though it's a term of endearment or they know the bloke.....Danny ...do me a favour...it's Hylton and the bloke is a cock

Cook playing today then. I’m crap at working out what we are going to play from the teamaheet bit still looks like the diamond with Cook in there in one of the box to box positions. Massively not keen on that if that’s the case.

Pitch isn’t too bad. It was worse at the Kenny last weekend.

Grimsby have hit the bar from 30 yards out.

Well a Luton player smashes it over the bar at a corner and the referee and linesman signal corner again. Grimsby complain and the ref changes his mind.

Great officiating all round there.

If Jordan Cook ever plays for Luton again there might be a riot. Get him out.

That’s a soft booking for a second yellow for Cook. Certainly a foul, a yellow. Very harsh I think.

Here we go again....
How many chances to cement a place in the team does someone need?? Fucking useless wast of space he’s proven to be....

Our commentary team thought it was fair so I think that says a lot. They also thought he might have gone for the first.

Either way, hopefully that’s the end of his career here.

It was a mistimed tackle first and it was a booking. A warning second time would’ve sufficed. Having not seen it again.

Just try and get out of here with a point now i reckon.

I know Jones likes him for some reason but a real odd choice to play Cook today imo. Words to him before the game must have been along the lines of being his last chance, and he’s well and truely fucked it up.

Hopefully Jones learns from this, how often do his left field selection choices actually work? Very, very rarely I’d suggest.

Pretty poor first half from us to be honest. Grimsby have had chances but haven’t really tested Stech apart from the chance that hit the bar.

We’ve had one off the line but nothing else.

We really need to up it second half because this could be an awesome week if we can get 3 points. Certainly going to be a grind.

While results are going our way elsewhere and ignoring the negative approach....
Hope jones circles the wagons and don’t let the point go....

Which one? If that’s the first one, I agree. The second one I’d like to see again, but I think Cook was allowing the ref to make a decision.
