Can't wait for someone to tell the Chezzie fans that by the time we get to Jan their glamour tie at Stamford bridge will either be behind closed doors or open only to those without a pocket full of Kleenex ;)
It's the law of Bojo.
Oh god don't!! :eyes::sad:

But will still take the Johnson Dollar‍:£
Rishi supplied the dollar and never mentioned we couldn't bring in new players.

WhoWasFone’s thought process throughout this thread:

Tuesday 11:30 pm

Mmm I think I’ll create a thread to try and point score after i’ve just learned other clubs have also used the furlough system. Look how clever I am. Hehehe.

Wednesday 00:51 am

Oh shit that Gillingham fan has made me look daft now and pointed out that the issue was Chesterfield signing players after furloughing other players, not just using the furlough system. Bugger.

Wednesday 04:03 am

Right I’ll just delete the whole fucking thread and hopefully no one will notice.

Wednesday 04:05 am

Ahh bollocks you can’t delete threads any more. Crap.

Wednesday 10:22 am

Fuck it, I’ll just pretend that that was what I meant all along. Sure I’ll get away with it. Hehehe.

Not at all, other teams furlough players and signed more. Wrexham for one admitted furloughing players and then they signed more. Grimsby likely did the samesince the amounts claimed dont add up to office staff only. You have also claimed hundreds of thousands more than Chesterfield. Its you that is taking the piss.

A Grimsby fan having a go at Chesterfield is like a nonce criticising a teacher for not sticking to the national curriculum.

How do you all miss the point so spectacularly? It’s not about you using the system, everyone did and it’s what it’s there for. It’s the way you used it to take players off your wage bill only to sign direct replacements for them.

Furlough a LB? Signed a LB a week later
Furlough a CM, sign a CM afterwards

You can argue whether the system allowed for that or not - but that is an abuse of the system and you’ll rightfully get some stick for it.

The replacements needed signing as we'd lost 7 from 9 games. OK, eventually it was decided there would be no relegation but at the time that wasn't the case. Relegation would have sunk the club.

The players that were replaced had to be furloughed as it was impossible to offload them during a pandemic due to the lower leagues being cancelled and other teams being extra cautious with signing players.

Top and bottom of it is if we hadn't done so well last season and this season, none of you would give a fuck about how we furloughed our staff.

Morning.

I think you're missing the point. There was no transfer embargo during the pandemic. There was nothing to say we couldn't sign new players, which we would have done anyway.

Well no because I wasn’t on here when it happened criticising you as to be quite frank I couldn’t give a fuck what you did with the furlough system.
My point is you created this thread trying to score points and it has backfired making you look an absolute tit.

Does someone else want to tell them or should I?

Also do you not see why this issue needs to be challenged?
He's been on RP, searching for Chesterfield things to get angry about. Things just got serious.

You're top of the league and have Chelsea away in the Cup yet are having sleepless nights over what some random people on an internet forum are saying.

There's no correlation there whatsoever. What are you even saying, that those signings were only possible due to the saving on salaries? Forgive me but that's just stupid. Player signings would have happened whatever, James Rowe had come in and was, rightly, churning the whole squad because it was rubbish. The few players put on furlough didn't affect that decision or enable it. I mean I imagine the players you furloughed were not first teamers, so I don't...?

Jan 30, 2021 - Chesterfield use Government cash to furlough a load of players not in James Rowe’s plans.

Feb 2, 2021 - Chesterfield blow Wrexham out the water to sign Adi Yussuf.

The end.

I blame next season's looming salary cap, it's a brother eat brother season, every big spender for themselves!!

I didn't even intend to get involved in this because I knew how it would go. The best thing to do with this whole thing is just not mention it and hopefully people will get bored and move on.. But I've just fallen into the TFF reply trap

we didnt furlough any players in the same way you did!? they were furloughed for the period that the league wasnt operational

When the league restarted, they all came back on board and we just signed new ones on non contract terms who had been laid off from other clubs due to the season ending for leagues below us, namely Gold Omoyato, KMB and Chris Sang due to an injury crisis up front

I appreciate that if the leagues had continued then the possiblities of moving the players you furloughed on and off your books would have been there, but even you can see that it was an unfair exploitation of government money - which was the point of the original post that started this thread?

To be fair I think it had been mostly forgotten until ThisIsPhone/CarsonSucksCock decided to start an ill-advised thread on it

There's a 35mb ODS file in the link above listing all the claims and the amounts from December 2020.
Okay, so as I suspected you're looking at the same spreadsheet I was and twisting it for your own agenda. All the amounts are ranges, so it's impossible to say exactly who has claimed what.

Just wondered if any fans who slagged off Chesterfield for their use of the furlough system would like to apologise before I name their clubs for doing exactly the same thing.

HMRC have released the names and company registration numbers of those that furloughed staff and players.

I ask again, anyone want to get their apologies in before I show them up to be the hypocrites they are?

In unrelated news I didnt know that the holding company of Stockport County FC was Stockport County 2010 LTD (reg number 07254012). I also didnt know about the other companies they held under the Umbrella Stockport County.
I'm not sure why our corperate set up is of so much interest to you, are you trying to infer that there is something 'dodgy' going if so then please elaborate.

Well thats just a lie, you continued to use furlough after December 2020, the evidence is right there. Chesterfield FC did not.
