That Accrington win against us looks so random in the scheme of things.

Newport at home and the new temporary stand is to be utilised, meaning the attendance at the Cae Ras will go over 12k for the first time in 16 years.

This has the feel of a grudge match, hoping we stuff 'em but George Evans is a big miss in the midfield. Should have enough for then with Jones, Cannon and Lee in midfield but we should know of all teams thar this weird and wonderful game isn't that simple.

Couple of huge games in there. If radar-dodging Barrow go to Crewe and win then they've got to be title contenders nevermind promotion ones.

Cannot see anything other than a Stockport win in the other big game. Williams is a man under pressure now, he basically said yesterday that the players weren't listening to him.

I think they will as well. They didn't look very impressive when we went there and should have won, but look a different beast now. I'm guessing their squad isn't that big so a risk of injuries derailing them at some point - but very impressive results by them every week at the moment.

Doncaster (a) -

We won our fifth game on the bounce yesterday. We’re nothing special, but we’re street-wise and very solid at the moment. We appear to capitalising on chances when they’re gifted to us, too - which is refreshing.

Since that horrendous first half at Notts County 6 games ago, we’ve scored 17 goals and conceded once.

The lads are full of confidence and we have a full squad to choose from in what seems to be an eternity.

Donny got absolutely tonked yesterday, so no doubt they’ll be a reaction.

4,300 made the journey last season, but I doubt we’ll take anywhere near that. No idea how ticket sales are going, but with it being a Friday night and near to Xmas, I think it’ll put a few off. Be suprised if we didn’t take at least 2,500, though.

If we somehow manage to win our 6th game in a row, we’ll be in or around the play-offs with a game in hand. However, 2 tough games follow this one; Morecambe and Stockport at home.

The latter is why I think they'll falter, but if lady luck is on their side and they remain injury-free and Wild doesn't get a better offer elsewhere, they could certainly do it.

Morcambe away.

I didn't realise they had been on such a dismal run until yesterday. 4 losses and a draw then tonking Doncaster 5-0!!! I really don't know what to make of this match as we are doing OK if somewhat unspectacularly at the moment. We should have scored more against FGR but that seems to be our achilles heel at the moment, not being very prolific in front of goal.

We are reliant on Max Dean scoring with Eisa and Leko in sh1t form and probably needing game time which we can't afford to give them if we want to get into the playoffs.

Still, I'm going for a close win for us but a draw won't be the end of the world.

Home to Mk Don's, over the last few seasons we have given them to much respect at our place and been tonked 4-0 both times .This is a new set of players so hopefully they will not give any respect to them ,I think a draw will be a good result so 2-1 to the shrimps

Away again!

never beaten sutton since they’ve came up, we’ve always struggled there and i expect a hard game saturday and they’ll be fired up after yesterdays embarrassment.

Would’ve taken 4 points from crawley and sutton so a draw wouldn’t be the end of the world.

The positive sign for mansfield and barrow is that we’ve still only played 9 home games, some will be on 13 by this time next week!

Notts (H)

I know everyone's going to assume our victory given Saturday's results, but honestly that was down to Sutton's failure to get the basics right more than us being brilliant. The cracks from our previous few performances still haven't been papered over, and now we've lost yet another star of the season (Southam Hales) to medium-term injury. Notts are still a very good team and I'd happily take a point right now.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I don't think Williams is under pressure, I think our recruitment team and club ethos are. I don't think any Notts fans think we've the players or squad depth to sustain a promotion push.

Away to FGR for our first ever visit there as a club. Sold the first allocation of 400, not heard how well the second lot are going but 500+ for a Friday night in deepest middle-of-nowhere-shire is pretty good in any season, let alone with our terrible form. FGR seem shit too, so I can only foresee a home win in El Shittico.

Not confident for this one at all. We're flagging big time, not coping with our injuries at all which aren't as bad as other teams, but the current group of fit players is probably mid-table. Last 3-4 performances have been very shaky. And we're playing the most in form side in the division, lovely.

Got a big crowd for this as we've reduced tickets to £10 across the ground. Think we'll lose this one, barring a dramatic improvement in performance from the Accrington game.

Anything more than 6 points in the next 4 games will be a bonus (Crewe (a), Stockport (h), Accrington (h), Wrexham (a) ). Even 4 defeats should see us still within the play offs. If the unthinkable happens and we win all 4 then the 50-1 I got just before the Gillingham (p) match will be down to low single figures.

Got two bogey sides out the way this season with Accrington and Harrogate so will be nice to do the same with Sutton, they can only get better after the last result mind.

I always like the trip to Grimsby, the Cleethorpes ground always feels like a proper park. If my memory is correct, last year we had no shots on target in the first half and only one after half time. The result was 0:0 with Grimsby camped in our penalty area for the last 30 minutes but unable to find a way through. It was a lucky point for us and Grimsby must have felt hard done by.

If we play like we did last week against Notts County and in the second half against Wrexham we have nothing to fear, but we are Harrogate Town so we'll probably lose 3 nil and have a player sent off in the 97th minute for a stupid fit of temper.

I mean I'll probably look stupid and we lose 6-2, but I don't think this is a terrible fixture for us to have right now. We're really struggling against teams with an obvious game plan of let our back three have it, man mark everyone else, stop the ball getting near our forwards and know we'll give you at least two clear chances. I can't see Stockport doing that at home, and an open game where we actually have less than 70% possession but some actual space to attack might be just what we need. Maybe.

Move, what is probably, one of our biggest crowds of the season to Friday night so there will be less people attending. Its lucky we have so much money it doesn't matter. :ffs:

Looking forward to seeing Al Habadi (or whatever). The write up he has had on here I'm expecting George Best in his pomp.

No Williams as he is suspended (can't believe we have the most yellows in the league. We're powder puff). We have played Gladwin in there which is bizarre. An attacking midfielder (who cant run) as a centre half. I'm sort of hoping that one of the young defenders we have gets a chance but I doubt it.

Said to myself before the Swindon game on Saturday if we are still somewhere between 2nd and 5th on the 2nd January then we'll have done really well, five tough games on paper. The first of them is boxed off with three points, so if we pick up a point minimum on Friday we'd carry a lot of momentum into two great Christmas home games.

I can see the logic here, but I wouldn't rule out them playing the same way that others have had success against us. I don't think it's a bad fixture for us to have in the sense that Stockport should be favourites at home against us at full strength so it shouldn't feel like an opportunity missed.

If only we were anywhere near full strength :(

I don't think any of those are under pressure, certainly not Williams.

A rarity where the Notts fans don't expect anything other than a defeat which makes a nice change.

If I were playing Notts at home right now, I wouldn't be happy with a point.

Well our game at Sutton has just become harder. They’ve just sacked whichever Mitchell brother was their manager.

Imagine it’ll be back to basics and looking to get a reaction to last weekend’s humiliation. We’ve been good away from home so I was hoping for 3 points here as I can’t see us winning both our home games between Christmas/NYD.

draw may be good value, made me less optimistic I must admit.
