I also got the pleasure of Graham Westley's interview after their win today. Fuck me he talks some shite. He decided to compare Conor Washington to Thierry Henry then thought it was a great Washington was being mentioned in the same breath as a legend (no, it's just you who thinks that Graham......). Then he invented a new word - clinicality. I think I dislike him as much as Darrem Ferguson already. :-D

It's clear as daylight both aren't good enough, at least for a club whose main objective in preseason were the playoffs, but still, if we cannot bring in a new keeper, then Dunn should be the number 1. He's the much better shot-stopper, and in my book that's more important than the better traits Beasant has over Dunn, namely kicking and cross handling. Dunn also has much more league experience than Beasant, even though the latter has been playing for quite a while now, and that to me means quite a lot.

I said before the match that Derry got it wrong and he should have gone with Dunn today. While Donny aren't a big side, it still was an Fa Cup game, and Dunn played a blinder last year against Man U, and he also was in the Northampton side that won at Anfield 4/5 years ago.
It's like voting for a Skoda or a Lada though isn't it? Both are shite.

We are bloody awful. Replay will be on TV no doubt so you'll all get the chance to find out.

I heard you were very poor today and were lucky to earn a replay. But Whitehawk sure are splashing the cash around for a Conference South side!

Sure Laker, but in that case I would choose the Skoda :)
I think I'd be tempted to play neither and get someone else in on loan. Dunn is a dreadful keeper who should be nowhere near our starting line up. The only reason he is even considered is because we have nothing better than him.

Would hate to be a Dagenham fan. Last two home games they've conceded a last second equaliser. They must think they are never going to win at home! Quality to see the Carlisle players offering to help out.

Our squad have spoken to KC on the bus back and asked if they can go out and help people affected by the floods after training sessions this week, now asking people to email the club and tell them where they're needed. Very good to see even new players getting in on it, Tom Miller didn't travel today due to illness and I gather he's been out looking for things to do to help today. Seen a picture of Brunton Park, unbelievable how far underwater it is and that's compared to a few weeks ago when half the pitch was flooded.

Fantastic gesture from the whole team/management.

Good result today, into the 3rd round with the big clubs. Delighted for Wyke, 1st pro hat trick on his birthday.

Agreed, but I am only thinking in terms of if getting a new keeper is impossible due to financial restrictions. In other words, if Jez and the D Dogg say to Derry sorry but you can't bring in a new keeper. I sure hope we do get someone better, but like I said, given the choice I would pick Dunn. My reasoning is this - look at how many times the County players tried to shoot at every opportunity and from all angles when we played them. A shoot on sight policy. The fact that their shots were all off target doesn't change anything. Donny did this again today in the 2nd half, and were rewarded.

I think "decent shot stopper" should be a given for any League 2 keeper. The more I watch Beasant, the less I'm convinced he has that so you're probably right.

But Dunn is so bad it's ridiculous. He isn't convincing from crosses or balls played over the top, and he can't kick at all - it's actually his technique which is poor as he kicks underneath the ball. His mere presence makes our defence jittery.

Actually, based on all that I'd side with Beasant. I'd take the odd iffy moment stopping shots - our defence should be preventing most of them anyway.

If the board are cuffing Derry's hands on signing a keeper then they're wrong on that one. They've allowed him to sign plenty of others ffs!

When a keeper flaps at a cross, then there is a good chance one of the defenders will clear the ball away, while otoh, when one doesn't stop a shot the probability is that the ball will end up in the back of the net.

We have to agree to disagree I think Laker ;)

The exact occurrence happened to Dunn against Accrington - flapped at a ball from a cross and it ended up in the back of the net. Accrington then went on to win. ;-)

But yes, let's agree to disagree. We both agree that neither is suitable though. :)

Against you it was harsh, today it was the least Whitehawk deserved

Well, that was painful viewing today. We were lucky that it was only 2-0 rather than 20-0, as Peterborough had that many chances to put us away before Marcus Maddison did.

What infuriated me today though is the 2 of the 3 most influential players on the pitch escaped our grasp: Erhun Oztumer who won the MotM award ran the show in the middle of the park was signed by Luton, but failed a medical. Lee Angol was loaned out to Boreham Wood all of last season, and left the club because we only offered him £600pw. He looked like he wanted to prove a point and really looks like he's going to be the real deal.

We are ever indebted to Mark Tyler who again was fantastic once again - a 10/10 performance. He made some sensational saves on return to London Road.

We had one real chance all day. Jon Taylor was sleeping and gave the ball away to McQuoid who played in Mackail-Smith, who hit the inside of the post at the end of the first half. But other than that, we created absolutely nothing.

Just seen the stats from today's game. Peterborough 56% possession, which I thought was flattering to us. They also had 34 (THIRTY FOUR) shots and 15 on target, which says a lot about Mark Tyler.

We were so poor today it was unbelievable. I'm not sure what the plan was really, as I'm sure Still if fully aware that long hoofs to Mackail Smith isn't a viable strategy. Winds me up how he keeps bleeting on about missing Benson, how about we don't build our entire team around an injury and suspension prone 36 year old striker? Radical idea I know.

Tyler was the only one to come out of today with any credit, everyone else was abysmal.

Well considering we had god knows how many injured and not one authodox central midfielder in the starting XI, that sounded utterly superb from us.

Ollie Watkins scoring is another boost as he's a hot prospect and it sounded like we totally deserved the win.

Can't wait for the third round draw. Just hope it's not Bury away again.

Great professional performance from us today against Welling, hopefully we'll get away at Peterborough or Charlton in the next round, if not then some other non Premiership club all the way down South will be fantastic!

Thanks for spelling THIRTY FOUR , I have trouble counting more than 20 due to running out of fingers and toes ....my mate can do 21 somehow

We need a new keeper, sooner rather than later. We need to shore up our defence, especially the right side - although Roberts is probably also on his last legs. None of this is news to most of us and it's good that it's being laid out clearly before our new manager before we get to January.

For the first half, Doncaster were a yard quicker in reaction and movement than most, if not all, L2 sides that we've seen We were lucky to be 1-0 up at half time - although the fantastic efforts of our midfield made a lot of that luck. Berry was probably as good as we've seen him (buzzing up and down with 4 goals in 4 matches now).

Doncaster took their 3 quick goals well and knocked the stuffing out of us for 20-30 minutes but the first two were very disappointing. A combination of failed application/concentration at the restart plus experienced managers working us out and starting the second half with a new formation and on the front foot did for us again. That said, we had a cracking end to the game, with plenty of chances and 'Ughesy hitting the bar twice in 10 seconds.

All in all, I'd rather have got the plucky loser experience out of the way quietly against Doncaster yesterday - although a replay might have been fun. We're probably not yet ready to turn over Posh or Arsenal in the next round - although we might have been by January.

There was enough on show for us to be looking forward to a weekend enjoying the bright lights of Plymouth. Hopefully we can patch the Corrminator up for another battle and our loanees will be available again.

Actually managed to watch out game live yesterday via stream (I know, a stream for us vs Whitehawk), and bar the first 30 we were woeful. They dominated and totally deserved at least the equaliser, although to get it in the last second after what happened to us last week made me want to hurtle myself off a cliff. We sat back, they came on to us and it was only a matter of time before they found the equaliser, and now we have a replay we don't want or need and the chance to be further embarrassed on live TV.

At least we get the TV money :D

We just about had too much for Accrington, they weren't the worst team we've played this season but certainly one of the dirtiest.

Did everyone go on about little old Whitehawk who only get 300 crowds and forget to mention they're bankrolled and pay silly wages, with players in their squad that probably have more FL experience than Dagenham?
