I've noticed GasAttack (and this is not meant as a criticism in any way!) doesn't show much confidence or optimism ahead of any Rovers game - a sign that he's a long-suffering Gashead who has come to expect a kick in the balls around every corner! I certainly don't blame him for being so cautious, and given our run of form recently, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that Barrow could do a number on us as he is suggesting.

I've got a lot of faith in our squad still and whilst I don't think we're consistent enough to be a genuine League One play-off contender (as it stands), I do think we have a decent team that isn't getting much luck at the moment. Every shot the opposition have is going in, we've had harsh red cards, injuries to players after we've used all our subs and officials who fail to award blatant penalty decisions our way when we're clear through on goal. Defensively there is an issue, but we are competitive in every game and look a decent team going forward and that will always gives us a chance.

Fully aware of Barrow's threat but as much as it could be a banana skin, it could also be the perfect game for us to get back on track. Fingers crossed we can get to the third round and land a good tie.

I'd agree with your assessment of your side. Looked very competent and full of confidence but maybe just a touch naive compared to some at this level. Keep that side together and you'll challenge the top 6 over the next few years, IMO.

I'll struggle tomorrow as I'm off to Spain. Would have been able to do it today. Have you tried our forum?
No worries, the guy who usually sorts it can't get logged-in. It's not accepting his registration or something.

Away at Lincoln on the box next monday for us. Its a tricky one to call, Lincoln are going well and will be well up for it but at the end of the day, regardless of our position, we are 2 divisions above them.

I very rarely back us but I think we will sneak this one 2-1. Bookies have us 9/5 which is slightly tempting.

Our Lincoln game is huge. We are desperate for the money and if we don't win and draw a big name in the third away we are really in the proverbial.

Supporting latics has really become about knowing the financial services as much as what is going on on the pitch. More so even
Either of your two fancy it, 4froale hold'um Oldham ?

Who can have any confidence in our defence and keeper at the moment, I'm worried that we'll lose this one, but depends how much Clarke changes the team around, something needs to change at the back.

The problem is, I think JCS had the potential to be very good if given a run of games at CB, but he's obviously now out until the new year. With James Clarke still sidelined too, we are stuck with Hartley and Locks because DC clearly doesn't rate McChrystal at this level.

I also think our midfield need to do more to protect the back four. Lines offers nothing in that regard and while Sinclair chases and harries all day long, he often gets dragged out of position. That means no-one in the middle of the park helps the defence, which is why teams find it so easy to walk through us. I think that's why DC often plays 3-5-2, but even then nobody really offers a presence in there. I think Boateng has the potential to play that role, it's just that he seems out of favour somewhat.

With regards to our midfield I would have Lines, Boateng and replace Sinclair with Mansell.

If you fancy backing an underdog I'd seriously consider putting a few quid on Barrow to beat Rovers.

Barrow are currently on a 22 match unbeaten run which stretches back to the middle of August! They score lots of goals and concede very few. They're in superb form and go into this one very confident having recently had 4-0 wins against fellow promotion chasers Eastleigh and Dagenham.

Rovers on the other hand are in very poor form picking up just 1 point from their last 4 games which included a 4-0 loss at Millwall, a 5-1 loss at home to Charlton and a 3-2 loss at Chesterfield. The way we're defending at the moment we'll probably need to score 6 to win!

When you factor in Rovers recent record in cup competitions an upset looks even more likely. In the last couple of years Rovers have lost at home to Bath in the FA Trophy and last year were involved in the biggest shock of the competition when we were beat 1-0 at home by Chesham!

Rovers 1-3 Barrow

The League One me.

Carlisle away. Top of League 2 v 5th in League 1 should throw up a decent game.
With our crap away form I can't see us winning. I'd be happy with a draw and think we'd beat Carlisle at home. Annoying as Jim Beglin dropped our ball in the draw and set up an away tie instead...
Think this will finish 2-2.

We were lucky last night to get a draw. Awful display with the 1st half being particularly bad, coupled with Macclesfield playing well. Fortunately, their finishing was awful as well and when it was a good effort Eastwood made a good save. Hopefully, we won't be as bad in the replay!

Comfortably beaten by the better side today.

Rochdale showed why they are where they are.

It is a good learning exercise for us if we go up because it highlighted how far off that level some of our players are.

Luton very very poor first half and deservedly 2-0 down to Solihull. Second half they grabbed an early goal and it was like a landslide, dangerous every time they went forward. Marriott, who needed a goal, Hylton, Gillead impressed. Defensively very poor, kept letting Moors players have all the time in the world and not marking them in dangerous positions, which wasn't aensible. McGeehan was poor as well, don't get the hype based on that, too slow on the ball and very selfish.

We will struggle today, literally 8 key players missing! On the plus Big Reg Cicilia starts and will hopefully break Hartlepool hearts and severely shake their confidence...

Gutted for them, I feel entirely responsible too!

Can't take anything from Wimbledon though, what a comeback.
Looking at the stats Wimbledon completely battered them really but got caught 3 times on the break. Still very gutting being 3-0 up with just 10 mins left, would have been the result of the round.

I have Wimbledon on my bet though so I've got to say I'm relieved!

Can see Wimbledon challenging to get in the P/O come the end of the season. They don't have any outstanding players but some decent players and have a great team spirit.
