No idea who Ainsworth with pick but it won't be Paul Hayes as he has been injured all pre-season,Pierre and Cowan-Hall have been in an oxygen tent this week after picking up ankle injuries. Thompson will no doubt start up front as Ainsworth loves him even though he's shit and will be substituted late in the 2nd half which means the younger and fitter strikers might get between 5 and 10 minutes

Well that was shit. I'd like to thank Southern Railways for running such a dire service that I missed the first 20 minutes, although if the bit I got to watch was any indication, I didn't miss much.

Whilst it'd pretty sad to overreact to an underwhelming opening game, it's certainly worth squashing any misplaced optimism early doors, and today certainly helped on that front.

On the plus side, watching people bounce off Akinfenwa is childishly funny, even if the ref will blow up at every single goalmouth scramble whilst he's on the pitch and give a free kick the other way against us.

I thought that the first 20 minutes was the best bit from a Wycombe perspective as we were very slow playing our way into the game. I felt it was a game that could easily have gone either way, especially as our goal came about due to a defender's lapse.
Yes, it is funny watching Akinfenwa. He always gets a good-natured rendition of "You fat bastard" when he visits Crawley. Since Evans left, we don't have a regular recipient for that chant. Actually, I reckon Akinfenwa is solid muscle and it's a testament to his hard work that he can play football at all. I have a lot of respect for the guy.

yeah, I'm not sure how many people who come out with that chant for Akinfenwa would say it to his face of an evening. But he pretty much rolls with it, so all good.
