So, who's a fan?

Literally just bought the new album which was released an hour ago. Not really listened to the new tracks, just enjoying the Heaton Park Live songs.

Got tickets to see them in Brum in November and also me and a few others have bagged tickets for the Old Traffors (cricket) gig next May. Can't wait.
About time this place has an appreciation for them. Pretty sure there's plenty of fans kicking around, Van Der Graf I'm looking at you.

I love these lads, no shame at all.

So, who's a fan?

Used to be.

Loved the first record back in the day. Loved it. Probably to a level above what it deserved musically. One of those time and place things.

Had left the country by the time Falcon came out and wasn't quite so arsed anymore. It is good, and some of the tracks are actually better than a lot of St. Jude. I still enjoy songs from it when they come up on random playlists but that feeling I had back in the day is loooong gone.

I gave records 3 and 4 a few spins but couldn't get into them. Boring. Nothing there. Haven't bothered since.

Seen them in 2008 at some place in Sheffield. Wouldn't be arsed about standing in a crowd of dickheads and seeing them again now though.

Modern Love and The 17th are the only songs I like on the new album, the rest is below average/shite. It's by far their worst album imo. Only really purchased it for the Heaton fooking Park stuff though.

Seeing them in two weeks time, shame shite like Kitchen is going to replace an obvious crowd pleaser like the Opener, for example. Beer O'Clock when they start that.

Fray's barnet suggests he's currently going through some sort of goth phase as well.

That was that initial thought I had too, those two and No One Will Ever Replace Us being the only decent tracks, since Friday a few others have grown on me.
It's pretty much the same reaction I had when they brought out Concrete Love but now I really like that album so we'll see in a few months.

A bit let down by the Heaton Park stuff, I don't think the tracks or DVD are anywhere near as good as the Castlefield Bowl stuff. All that despite Heaton Park being the best night I've been to.



Having wrote the initial post half cut I would like to reassure the general public I'm not some obsessive fanboy as it seems to come across, just a pretty big fan.

I loved St Jude, honestly don't think much of the other albums
