I am not sure what Pulis sees in Nyom as a defender - started very well for us but really declined in form badly.

Maybe a move is what he needs.

Their business has been awful. Relegation contenders for sure.

I was hoping Wilshere would go to Spain or Italy. I think a less physical, more technical/tactical league would suit him. Going to Bournemouth is just too much of a step backwards, even if he plays well it won't prove that he's good enough to play for a team with title aspirations.

James Weir has signed for Hull. Not sure if he's ready for PL football but he's a very tidy player.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Retirement homes are for Christchurch. Or Wareham.

There's more of a potential issue with how Wilshere gets on with a town full of bars and nightclubs and a significant student population, who rock up in a few weeks.

Stay off the booze and fags Jack...

You needn't bother worrying about all that, he'll be injured way before then.

James Weir and Dieurmerci Mbokani have signed on a three-year deal and season-long loan respectively. Still a couple more could sign if the sheets have been submitted, but we don't know of names currently.

Awaiting confirmation, but would appear we've signed Markus Henriksen from AZ on loan until January when the move will become permanent.

Sissoko had a jet ready to take him to Liverpool and didn't turn up and on top of that didn't answer any of Koeman's phone calls. :fl::fl::fl:

It might be funny but I think Everton have got the better of that (non) deal!

What's your favourite English media anecdote of Jack Wilshere?

How about them asking Guardiola if he was worried about Wilshere for a forthcoming tie against Barcelona, only for him to scoff that his reserve team was full of players like Wilshere.

Quite fitting. That was 4 years ago - and he's got worse since.

Oh, and Arsenal lost the game 3-1.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Sissoko do really well for Spurs. He's clearly not a bad player, but is one of those that may well play better in a better team and also will then put in the effort.

Can understand Newcastle fans being chuffed he's gone and that they feel they've fleeced Spurs, but it's entirely feasible that Sissoko will have a really good season ahead and be worth the money.

I'm not an objective observer, but I would think he is more likely to fail than succeed. He's had three years in the Premier League and, although I remember him having a bright start, hasn't done particularly well in that time. International football is a different beast altogether. Abou Diaby looked fantastic playing for France, where he had time and space he didn't get in the league. He often struggled for Arsenal. I think Diaby is much more naturally talented player than Sissoko. I don't know what you mean by "he's one of those that may well play better in a better team and will also then put in the effort." Why? If he doesn't put in the effort for Newcastle, why would he for Spurs?

£30m is not a huge amount of money in today's terms, though. Certainly not what it was when Newcastle managed to get £35m from Liverpool for Carroll, which remains the most ridiculous transfer of all time.

It is feasible but given his pefomances for them it's almost an irrelevance how well he plays for someone else. He wasn't a £30mill player for them even if he ends up being one for Spurs.

What Guardiola actually said:

"Wilshere is a top player. He is an excellent player, not just Arsenal, but also for the national team. [But] he is lucky because we have many players in the second team like him but he plays because there is no pressure at his club to win titles."

More of a dig at Arsenal than Wilshere.

Just that a players game can be raised (or lowered) by those around him, and that in some cases it can be about motivation (sad as it is to say). John Stones was caught up in a bad situation last season at Everton, but even though Martinez can be blamed there were still individual errors that Martinez can't be blamed for. Yet he is/was clearly good enough to not be on Everton's bench. A year ago what with all the arrivals Noble was understandably thought to be the weak link in the West Ham team, sticking around the first eleven because of the captaincy; yet he goes on to have the season of his life and doesn't look out of place in that much-improved eleven.

All in all, just saying that because Sissoko didn't do that great with Newcastle, doesn't mean he's necessarily going to have the same form at Tottenham.

Yeah and he was spot on then, and still is now. Not that it'll hurt Kroenke etc at all.

Fair enough. I feel the opposite is more likely. But time'll tell, apparently.

Stockport County.
I don't even see where Sissoko fits in at Spurs?

Dembele is better central box to box and they don't play wingers. If he plays further forward, he doesn't really fit their front four does he?

Weird signing for a young, hungry Spurs side.

And a dig at a player that was purported to be special, but in actual fact was the standard of plenty in the Barcelona B team. Looks like Guardiola was spot on about him.

If Wilshere had the opportunity of going to Roma and instead deciding Bournemouth it shows him for what he is - desperate to stay around his laddy London mates and will never grow up, forever smoking and attacking taxi drivers. An utter waste, he clearly hasn't cared a jot since getting a big contract a few years ago. At least Walcott and the 'Ox' have plenty of effort, but just a hideous lack of talent.

I also didn't see it, but apparently Sky Sports said Wilshere was one of the "Midfielders of his generation" - tops the Guardiola one if that's true. Although I do recall Pirlo and Zidane getting punted to Bournemouth on loan....

He said Wilshere was "a top player. He is an excellent player" but alluded to the fact that it's probably not a good idea for him to be playing regular football at the highest level at such an early stage of his career. Given the subsequent injuries Wilshere has suffered in his career he was probably on to something.

I think Bournemouth is actually the best move of all the moves in the press. Jack just needs to play football. Roma, Milan, would have big learning curves... language, tactics, league, etc. Instead, he'll just get minutes and play at a high level. I think its great for all parties. Jack needs to get back on track and I think he will.
