Have a feeling we may get tripped up tonight with them needing it more than us. Andy Carroll v Bradley or Locks will be fun. Both love that sort of challenge

Well we haven't rotated around. Same team apart from 1 enforced change - Alfie Doughty in for Reece Burke.

Jordan Clark and Elijah Adebayo also take places on the bench after also returning from injury.

Id imagine that even tho Edwards likes to sparingly use subs he'll make full use the next few games

Missed the game as at work .

Couldn’t get the time off.

Looks like our lot clocked out after 15 minutes !

Too easy for Cardiff once we let one in it seems .

A draw to secure the playoff place so very pleasing from that point of view. Key issue last year was going into the playoffs knackered and carrying injuries so we have options now in terms of choosing to rest certain players or give others like Clark some games to tune up. Good to have that as an option rather than only having the option of being peddle to the floor like last year.

As for the game a bit frustrating. Reading have had about 5 minutes of the game total at beginning of both halves and outside of that we’ve controlled it, but didn’t really make it count. Especially the second half we had a bit of a sloppy 30 seconds to give away a corner which Carroll nods in.

Bizarre sending off from him afterward though, already on a booking and deliberately handles the ball into the net, at 1-0 up I’d be annoyed with that as a Reading fan in a situation they need the points

Got the goal in the end after a bit of huffing and puffing which Morris bundled in on the line but after that I didn’t think we looked like going in and winning it.

Well that was something.

We were terrible, but results just seem to keep going our way. Think we’ll probably end up missing out to West Brom and Millwall, or maybe even Sunderland, but we’re still in the conversation.

The only two teams that deserve to be in the play off final is Middlesbrough and Luton. I haven’t a clue who is going to make the other two spots… it’s almost as if one of the parachute clubs will be there by default.

Have to be Norwich or WBA because it’s definitely not us .

Wilder gone all out on the players and club now so will probably be sacked in a day or two (or walk away )

Not the first manager to do so either so obviously they aren’t being listened to.

Talk of Pozzo out planes and mass protests now - how things change !

Lowe had his pants down by yet another manager who is remotely competent at this level.

Playing Lindsay over Bambo is Fucking disgraceful.

Blackburn on Saturday, looks close to a sell out. Our season is over but hopefully we can fuck theirs up.

Hopefully we line up as

Woodman
Storey, Diaby, Hughes
Whiteman
Potts, Onomah, Johnson, Fernandez
Cannon, Parrott

Got two tricky games coming up. Birmingham at home next weekend who are bringing 4K fans and you’d imagine will be up for spoiling the party, especially with it being a bit of a local derby. Then it’s Middlesbrough away on the final day, although we might get a bit lucky and they’ll field a weakened side to rest up for the play-offs.

Intrigued on the mindset and commitment of both sides for this afternoons match. Bit if a deadrubber other than momentum and mind games. Both assured playoff neither with a valid shot at autos and no idea who a potential opponent would be in playoffs to aim for.

Middlesbrough got the goal scoring Aston Villa striker (Archer)

We got a dud in Davis.

Horvarth with a flap. Archer one on one with Bradley has the expected outcome of an arse on the floor and the ball in the net. Couple or three times theyve tried to exploit that quick ball over the top as Locks pushes up and we're exposed in transition.

Middlesbrough were an excellent side and we are pretty fortunate to win that I think. The penalty decision from the ref is a really bad one and quite poor from Morris to dive for it basically. Wouldn’t have needed too if his touch had been better either.

Fist half they passed it really well, really were able to play around our press well but the chances they got were mainly through Bradley being left one v one in the middle with Archer. That was there out ball all the time and a real danger when we play Bradley in the 3 as Bell and Lockyer often overlap leaving a now very un athletic Bradley against a quick striker like Archer giving us a big problem. Having said that the goal was really poor, Bell got beat too easily in the left channel, then Horvath really needs to give Bradley a bit of help and be alert to the danger but he doesn’t make any sort of decision until far too late leaving one outcome. Poor goal from our perspective but well excuted exploiting of a weakness by Boro and Carrick as well.

As above it wasn’t entirely his fault but Horvath is really a very underwhelming keeper. Mostly has nothing to do in games but the times we need him to bail out a slow defender or something he’s missing. Did the same exact mistake of being indecisive against West Brom too. Definitely looks a bit scared of getting hurt to me almost. With playoffs round the corner I’m not hugely confident if we need a big game or god forbid penalty heroics from him.

Second half we were much better, got Bradley some support with Archer with Lockyer not overlapping as much and playing more in the middle. Meant Bradley got pushed into the left channel sometimes though which also isn’t great. I think fundamental lesson of the day is Bradley against a mobile striker in a 3 isn’t a match and we really need Osho/Burke back if we can for the playoffs. Was always going to be a set piece to get back into it as we didn’t look like breaking them down but for all the good football of Middlesbrough I don’t think they played through us too many times.

Backs to the wall defending a little bit at the end, particularly loved Luke Berry’s cameo performance of just kicking everything that moves. Love him. We might not be the best or slickest team in the playoffs but the mentality of players like him and Lockyer is really the backbone of the whole thing

Agree with all that except the pen. Thought the same real tv time but one of the replays from a reverse angle showed he was clipped by the keepers knee. Its def a case of delayed and looking for it, but thats the game today and would have been given if there was VAR. I was impressed with the ref

I haven’t seen it back yet, but I thought it was a penalty. And from where I sit, I had a perfect view.

Heck, a marginal decision went our way. It still hasn’t made or evened up for the terrible decisions that have gone against us earlier in the year.

Luton I thought showed Middlesbrough waaaaaay too much respect first half. They were more like their normal selves in the second. We can be a lot better - I but guess when you have little to play for at this stage, it’s easier to let levels drop!

Think that’s quite a generous view of it, even Morris seemed entirely unsure of if he was touched by the keeper or not. Similar to the Diallo one against Sunderland in that yes there was some “contact”, in that case Bell was touching his shoulder, this a very slight graze of what looks like a part of the keepers shirt, that’s been hugely exaggerated.

I guess we can point to the innumerable poor decisions against of late that we’ve got one in our favour but maybe we shouldn’t be quite so vociferous about them.

Bit of a shame it’s come in a pretty meaningless game though!

Seen them not given for sure. We agree to disagree. Glad its a positive note we're not unanimous on. Pretty clear contact for me and only question is was he gonna get the ball or in control of it and sadly, yet typical of FA, i have no clue what the rules are these days as they fuck around for the sake of it.

If you dont go down in those situations you are gonna lose out.....I do think theres a balance tho and need to stay on your feet as much as possible and not dive around all the time. Eli gets hard done by here and needs to improve this part and find a tougher streak. He looks lightweight and flops around and refs wont give him half what he deserves.

If Coventry go up whose to say they might play at their own 'home' ground? Just a truly shocking situation.

Definitively in our own hands now, wow. Who would have thought that when we lost 4-0 at home to Stoke a few weeks ago.

We're all hoping Sheff Utd are hungover as fuck to keep our final game against Sunderland interesting. You would think there is no better time to visit Bramall Lane.

I'd bring Delap and McCann back in for some extra pace. Guessing there will be large periods where we don't see much of the ball. Bring Onomah on for the last 30 and just let him pile forward.

Storey, Bauer, Hughes

Potts, McCann, Johnson, Fernandez
Delap, Cannon.
