Both the original and Infinite made my list. Infinite placed higher, although I'm not sure why. I preferred the ending to Infinite, in fact I loved it, but overall the original was a much better game.

Bioshock was such a special experience that first time of playing it. I don't usually tend to replay games once I've finished them, and even if I do it's usually a couple of years down the line... but I replayed Bioshock very soon after first completing it.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Released: 27th October 2002
Platforms: Playstation 2, Xbox and PC. Also on Playstation 3 as a download title
Metacritic: 94/100 (PC highest rated)
Copies Sold: Over 20M (as of March 2011)

Developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar games, Vice City is the sixth entry in the GTA series. The game is set in 1986 in the fictional city of, you guessed it, Vice City. The story follows Tommy Verceti, a Mafia hitman who has just been released from prison. After a drug deal goes horribly wrong, Tommy seeks those responsible while building up a criminal empire of his own. Vice City was the first game in the series to allow players to buy properties, properties such as a a film studio, stripclub and more.

I always feel like GTA IV doesn't get the respect it deserves. It was different and tried to go down a more "realistic" route, but I didn't think that was so much a bad thing. They sort of tried the same again with V, only they threw Trevor in there to add a bit of the GTA style crazy we'd come to expect from the series.

Speaking of which, looking back now, I really love that they did the whole 3 main characters thing with GTA V. Seemed a big disk but I thought it added so much to the story of the game... there aren't many games out there that are so ambitious and have three main characters like that.
I certainly preferred GTA IV to San Andreas. San Andreas just didn't do it for me AT ALL!
And there we have Vice City finishing 16th. Sounds about right. What a game though. So much more to it than GTA III. Vercetti is a great character and him starting the war between the Cubans and the Haitians and then working for each of them is brill. The end is quite cool as well with Lance betraying Tommy. Great game.

Final Fantasy X
Released: July 19th 2001
Platforms: Playstation 2. Remastered on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita
Metacritic: 92/100
Copies Sold: 6.6 (as of Jan 2004)

Final Fantasy X tells the story of Blitzball star Tidus who is sucked through time and tasked with protecting the summoner Yuna on her pilgrimage to become a master summoner in order to defeat Sin. FFX was the first Final Fantasy to move from pre-rendered backgrounds to full 3d and also the first Final Fantasy title to feature voice acting.

X often splits opinion among Final Fantasy fans. There are those are consider the game to be far too linear and to feature characters that aren't up to the same standard as seen in titles VII and IX. Others love it, myself included.

Yeah, brilliant game. I only ever actually got around to completing it with the recent HD remake, but I always loved it. Probably my favourite 1FF world that they've ever done. Fuck that flying dragon thing when you're on the airship though. FUCK THAT GUY.

I think I'd agree that the world is the best. Certainly love the designs of the locations and how varied they are. Also loved the sphere grid growth system. Great soundtrack and plenty of side content to boot.

It is indeed fantastic. I still need to get around to playing X-2. I know, I know, it sucks. But I've never played it and I love FFX too much to not at least give it a shot.

X-2 was the only 1FF game I ever owned. My mates always said that was why I never got into the series...

The only Final Fantasy I've ever played (apart from that nonsense GameCube exclusive). Absolutely loved it!

fuck that game.

combat, sphere grid and graphics very nice... personally thought the art design was pretty uninspired for an 1FF game, though, and obvs the characters (bar auron), story, dialogue all awful.

Bioshock is one of my favourite games of all time. It was one of the games that was in contention for number 1 spot but I gave that to someone else. The experience of going round Rapture was intense. I think it helped that the room with the xbox in at that time was very dark so you got really pulled in.

Mass Effect 2
Released: Jan 26th 2010
Platforms: Playstation 3, PC and Xbox 360
Metacritic: 94/100
Copies Sold: ? Not on Wikipedia and couldn't be arsed googling. Bet Oaf knows. Geek.

Mass Effect 2 is an action RPG developed by Bioware. The game takes place within the Milky Way galaxy during the 22nd century, where humanity is threatened by an Insectoid species known as the Collectors. The player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human who must gain the loyalty of a newly assembled team in order to defeat the enemy.

Mass Effect 2 implemented regenerative health and ditched the awful Mako vehicle sections from the original Mass Effect.

Suicide Mission on Mass Effect 2. Such a great way to end a game.

Lost a fair few of me crew, though. RIP.

Football Manager
Released: Every. Fucking. Year.
Platforms: PC
Metacritic: Don't care
Copies Sold: 25M plus addons

A game where you can manage a football team of your choice. And yes, I lumped them all together because they're basically the same fucking game every year.

Didn't even have FM on my list for some reason. Guess it's because I couldn't pick any individual one out. It should have been on it really.

I considered putting Championship Manager 97/98 in there. Would you have classed that as part of Football Manager, since it is effectively the same thing?

Nah coz it changed name. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

FM higher than both Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2, both the highlights of their respective series(thus far :))...

GTFO is all I can say to that.

FUCK. Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2 have been absolutely shafted here. Had I been able to do a list, the top two spots would have been taken by MGS and MGS4 (Shut the fuck up) but Uncharted 2 would have sat in third, with Mass Effect 2 somewhere near that area as well. You ass hats. How could you let this happen?

I said series, but if not then 14.

Same as me. These games came top of my list. The amount of time I've put into playing the series over the years is huge and I'm still shit at it.

Steam is the one that scares me, and I know I put a lot more in before I had Steam too... According to that spanning from 2009-2015 (I had 2010, 2011 and 2012 as non-steam versions first too) I've spent a total of 1712 hours, plus god knows how many non-steam hours (I started from FM07)... 71.33 days of my life, 10.19 weeks wasted on FM. Probably double that tbh, as I played the shit out of 2010 when not on Steam...
