You can't give free tickets out EVERY week.

You actually can't give out free tickets without the express permission of the away side for FA Cup games as half the gate receipts are due to go to the away side.

Not taking away from the gesture from Eastleigh, but worth remembering they are only giving away their half of the proceeds rather than a full match income

We've had our big cup tie against Chester. This is an anticlimax.

If you say so. I'm certain it will be a SMASHING day out for us

Wanky draw for us
Unlikely to be a TV game and pretty much zero chance of winning.

Cambridge away.

Good day out and winnable. Slightly underwhelming though
I agree, it's definitely winnable for you. Obviously we'll go into the game as favourites but we are playing dreadfully at the moment and I can see you beating us.

Blackpool away. Possibly winnable given their current state.

ER was referring to the drop in attendance from their previous league games.

Should be a good game. I don't think our side is as strong as the team who beat League 2 Cheltenham and Morecambe a couple of years ago but we'll see. We'll either win or get battered, never an in between with us.

Yeah, and I was pointing out that if they wanted to give away free tickets to boost it they couldn't unless the away side agreed (due to the shared gate receipt rules).

Curzon 2-1 with a dodgy pen, think that could deflate york
You deserved it,very impressed with your football, kept the ball better and was just better.but shocking decision on pen.
Got to say very impressed with set up at yours, not seen a better kept pitch outside of premier league, when first got into ground thought it was 3G

When I think back on the pen, I felt it very harsh as mentioned, but moreso harsh in respect that I hate them type of pens and don't really blame ref.

Them pens when attacker is running away from goal, knows he wont do anything so just slows right up then as soon as defender lightly brushes him falls like shot.

For me id rather a rule change to free kicks

Really not sure who York can actually beat away this season if you failed to beat Curzon who have one of the worst home records in the North this season.

They didn't work hard enough against us, very little closing down meant we had time on the ball.

Steve, can you do us a favour and turn Lincoln over tonight? I'm hoping that if we meet you the sight of Greg Wilkinson sends all your players into a fugue state

Would love to but Lincoln are a strong outfit this season and that's with players missing!

Still think Kyle Perry could have been penalised for the challenge on Drench..

This is exactly right for my money. Hopefully Mills can make a start on sorting this because while we had a far from amazing first few games, we looked adequate for this level yet we now look like relegation contenders.

York just reminded me fully of a squad of players with zero motivation..........overweight, lazy, uninterested, players who clearly don't enjoy coming in to train, no communication, no one makes runs, no tackling etc etc. lets be fair we have all seen them types of squads as fans.

They were ripe picking for a cup shock against lower league sides who would do drastic things to them like run or battle for balls.

The look a set of players who gave up trying so do not train well and look a shambles for it.

Maybe last night does them good as it didn't hide these things from new manager and it can be worked on

I was at the game last night. Must admit I enjoyed it. Thought the football played was much better than I was expecting given the positions of both sides. Pitch helped, the drizzle really added some zip to the ball.
Thought the save from the York keeper in the first half was stunning. Saw both sides of Brodie, terrific strike and moaning git.
I had a perfect view of the pen. Ref had a clear view, took his time and, IMHO, made the right call. Yes, he was going way from goal, so what was the defender thinking?
Think the right team won....but would have been more than happy to see extra time.

We haven't battered anyone this season, though we did beat Morecambe heavily at the end of last season. We're not very convincing at home and I can see us struggling. It's hard to call, depends which Cambridge and which Dover show up I guess.
