You put us up in the upper tiers when we took 5/600 on a Tuesday a few months back, do you not normally do that?
Yes we do now. More an outdated turn of phrase from when we only opened the upper tier when we had clubs with huge away support. (Or the womens internationals ):ffs:

Hard to know what to expect here. Our record under Maynard is pretty poor, but also feels like he's had a tough run of games and improved our performances, we look a lot more solid and balanced now and have been really unlucky not to take something from the games at Mansfield and Wrexham, let alone neither. On the flipside, our two home performances haven't been amazing, never really threatened to break Barrow down and just folded against Gillingham after a promising start.

We'll have our new giant striker available from the bench for the first time, which will hopefully allow us to change the dynamic a bit if chasing a goal late on.

Given our away form in 2024 (won at Mansfield, Barrow and Stockport and drew at Tranmere) I should be pretty confident. Will be a decent (for us) away following aswell cheering the lads on. But for whatever reason I just think Notts will have too much for us.

Two games that could define our season. Could be comfortably lower-half after the pair, or could be up in the play-offs. We tend to be better against the better teams in the league rather than the shithouses like Newport so that provides a touch of confidence. Our exciting new forward Jorge Hurtado managed just under 90 minutes in 3 sub appearances before a Swindon neanderthal took him out two-footed for one of the more blatant red cards you'll ever see, but as it was in the penalty area it was deemed only a yellow. In that just-under-90-minute spell, Hurtado showed more drive, skill, pace and endeavour than all the rest of our forward line have for 3 years (genuinely not even much of an exaggeration), so the fact he's now out with a knee injury (maybe a season ender) is typical of our existence as the most boring EFL side of the year. A mid-table cup victory is well within our grasp.

So Stockport and Wrexham at home within 5 days is tough regardless, and off the back of consistenly ropey form it's hard to go into the games with any particular confidence. Capable of winning both, I think we'll win one, lose one. No idea which way round.

4 away matches unbeaten for us, wins at MK, Crawley and Tranmere then a fairly fortunate draw at Wimbledon. though apparently there was a sickness bug ripping through the squad on Saturday and influential Joe Adams was unable to field. Playing some increasingly good, fast football and I think, fully fit, we are now a threat to most.
Feels like a completely different side to the one before Christmas.
When Ged Brennan was appointed I was less than enthusiastic, thinking it was just the cheapest option, and at the time, I was disappointed that Dave Artell didn't come back to us. But Ged Brennan's football and team spirit has won me over, and looking at Artell's results at Grimsby, we may have dodged a bullet there.
Hope the sick players have fully recovered. If so, won't be easy, but I can see another good performance.

Be nice if you let us win ;) and beat Stockport. Pound the misery on them for a little bit.

Part Time Stu sure had a tough opening set of fixtures and it gets no easier playing Crewe up next. Give the man a break he's working full time now after all.

Crawley at home. We have an interesting history against them although things have calmed down since Steve Evans departed way back when. As I work weeknights I've had to book holiday as I have done for Grimsby and Gillingham. Three out of four Tuesdays off on my busiest workday. Colleagues aren't happy.

The main Town pod, The Fishy, the WhatsApp groups I'm in...all toxic as fuck so I'm staying away. God knows what Twitter is like.

Morecambe away looks like a bit of a tricky one but probably less trickier than anyone at home right now. I bought Wimbledon and Sutton tickets yesterday so might reward myself with a week off watching them this weekend and get out the house without my phone at 3pm.

Seeing as it looks like we're here for another year at least, I'd like both you and Stockport promoted and out of the way for next season.

Few odd team selections by Parky tonight. Dalby starts which is never good. Lee on the bench. Looks like McClean in CM unless he's playing Bolton further up.

Got 3-1 MK on the works predictor league

Quiet opening 25 mins against Stockport, couple of pot shots from County but nothing outrageous. We're playing two wingers up front and can't keep the ball, so could be a long evening. They're very physical and very direct - no issue with either, as long as the ref is fair both ways I don't have an issue with it at all.

Surprised how many of the Stockport players (and bench) are moaning about literally anything and everything, you'd never have expected that from a group of Northerners. Collar has just been substituted and seemed to blame the referee for his injury, so much so that he had a strop going off, got booked, and then tried to start several arguments on his way to the dressing room. Odd bloke.

1-1 half time. Even game really, MK had more of the ball as expected.
McClean header from a corner, Kemp equaliser not long after.

Dalby missed a massive chance only had to square it to Marriott to put it in an empty net but tried to score himself and as per didn't. MK hit the post from about 30yards just before half time, Okonkwo with a fingertip save.

Take a point right now, Be under pressure 2nd half.

0-0 half-time. If Stockport stop just twatting it up to Wootton then they'll probably win, but as it stands 0-0 is about all this game deserves.

Comfortably the better side for twenty minutes with MK passing the ball around defence aimlessly and the losing it constantly to our press, we got one goal but really should have got more as we let them right back into it. A good goal from nowhere and MK have woken up.

Lewington should have had a red for stamping on a player on the floor but apparently that's fine.

0-0 at Wimbledon. Too ill to go ( Poxy flu) so watching on iFollow. First 30 minutes all Wimbledon. We came into it more in the last 15.

More own xg I would say this should be 1-1. Ours when the Wimbledon keeper lost the ball from a corner and theirs when Kelly, who's looked good, should have scored when through (ISH).

All to play for.

Players can't get red cards against us, it's the law.

Was definitely naughty, he took 2 or 3 steps before standing on Cannon can't see how it was accidental

Marriott fires a 1 on 1 straight at the keeper. Not impressed with him so far

You’re not allowed to tackle Stockport players

Lewington gets some sort of pass from referees, always been the case.
