So, it looks as though Brown will still be in charge on Saturday. With 6 straight defeats and the last 5 without scoring a goal, any other manager would have been sacked before now. Only at the Vale do we put up with this.

We will continue to play 4 centre halfs and huff and puff with our powder puff midfield and then eventually concede a soft goal and game over. Brown will again play two big lads up front and we'll pump balls to them with their back to goal, with no player within 40 yards of them and then repeat to see if it will ever work. We'll also play 3 or even 4 wingers in midfield because that is only ever going to be successful.

Forest Green are struggling, but have people who can score and create chances, which we don't. Never have I seen a team and manager at Vale so lacking in ideas, tactics and confidence. The crowd will probably be around 3000.

We need to get out of this terrible run but I just don't have confidence in anyone at the club.

Must win, simple as that, anything else doesn't bear thinking about as we start to get cut off.

The shocking decision not to sack Brown is disgraceful and I dare say emotions will come to the fore on Saturday. FGR are defensively awful yet at home against a side that's been in the main taking a few real beatings we will be negative and play the four centre halves across the back. We have to attack them from the off and make them worry about us on our huge pitch.

For what it is worth I think we will win this which buys Brown more time but the bigger picture if very worrying for this club. When was the last sub 4000 crowd at VP on a Saturday? Unless FGR bring a few more than usual to tick it off their to do list surely we wont make 4k?

Only positive is we have been slightly improved against far better sides the FGR in our last three games so maybe this will be a turning point?

Yeah, you'd think you'd want to get at us early as that was the downfall in the last few games, out of sight before we even got started. Corrected that home to Lincoln but still gave up a soft chance early and a soft goal in the end. Do think we still have goals in us so hoping for something, God knows we need it.

CLASH OF THE TITANS.

Well, actually clash of the 2 shittest sides in the EFL. Has all the makings of a classic, not.

Desperately need something, we did look better defensively against Lincoln and expect another scrappy performance. A clean sheet would be a decent achievement and give us something to work on.

I'm not one of these fans that want us to lose so we have to sack brown, that's just bonkers, however, he is obviously clueless, he hasn't learnt from previous matches what our failings are and I fully expect him to line us up the way we have been.
So, plenty of effort, no creativity, no chances to score and concede a soft goal to lose.
It's coming to something when the best we can hope for is a draw.
It may be early, but I really fear for us, I wasn't optimistic before the season but I couldn't see this coming, we really have the makings of a mid table side I just hope our barnpot owner does something he hasn't done before and appoint a decent manager, I won't hold my breath.

Unbelievable that he is still here so I hope we lose. We don't have a chance of scoring so 0-1.

If we get the first goal (and there is absolutely no reason to think we will even with their dodgy defence) then maybe we can shithouse our way to a victory. More likely we will line up with half the team playing out of position, offer nothing all game and they get a goal at some point and win. Brown will give his usual excuses and we'll just continue in this cycle.

Guess you can bill this game as the very resistible force vs the very moveable object.

Has to be positive, surely he has to go for this considering his position? And their obvious defensive issues?

Never thought I'd see the day we had a relegation six pointer with FGR (no disrespect) but that's where we are I guess.

I suppose we created a few chances against Coventry and Notts Co who have been relatively solid at the back so is a chance of winning but win on Saturday doesn't cover up the longer term issue of Brown.

Maybe Collins will stick one in his own net for us again to help us after winning us promotion with that og. Loved him at Vale just didn't progress how expected.

Loads of people saying there not going this game so will be a very low crowd. I've given up on us ever scoring or winning a game again. Basically if forest green score then they have won the match. I think this is the end for vale and the club will fold in a few years thanks to the wanker in charge.

Count me in as one of them who won't be going. Mainly because of work but even if I was off I have absolutely no intention of paying for this garbage.

It will never happen but the club deserves a sub 1000 crowd for this. We are just literally sleep walking to the conference the longer he is manager and that fucking idiot Smurthwaite more importantly remain in place.

I reckon around 3500 for this game but the next home game after that is Accrington on a night match. That's bound be sub 3000 with the way the club is going and even though Accrington are doing well there only a small club so won't bring more than 100. I don't know why Norman doesn't sell as the longer he stays the more money he loses. The club is worth alot less now than what he paid for it despite him saying it's worth 6m.

6 million pence maybe but not pounds! Maybe wants us to fold I don't know just seems a complete mess. Lowest ebb in our history this.

Are your fans acknowledging your team is shit? Ours seem to be the ones that can't accept how bad we are at present. There's a really uneducated view amongst them as well as the manager that if you shuffle bad players around enough it will suddenly come good for the long term.

Team itself has more than enough to do well at this level but the tactics are shit, because the manager is shit.

This time last year we were looking at a Championship push sitting 5th in league one... the fall from grace has been spectacular and dire. You guys are finding your feet at this level so it's understandable that you will need time to adjust, we've been a FL club for more than 100 years so have zero excuse.

What's the alternative? Give up?

Even if we are shit, I want us to be as least shit as possible. That involves juggling around the team to find the best team to enable us to be the least shit we possibly can be. And getting behind the lads to try and make them play as well as they can, even if that's still shit.

I've been a fan through years and years of being shit, so this is nothing. I'll still get behind the side every week, and will gladly buy a season ticket again next season even if we're relegated by a mile. Fuck even if we got relegated again, I'd still keep coming. I'm Rovers till I die you see.

Anyway looking forward to this one, proper scrap on the cards.

Judging by the excuse making coming from certain people on the staff, they've already given up.

Doesn't matter how much shit you shuffle around. It will still be shit and nothing more. Soon as you hear the names Bradley Cooper, Scott Laird and Charlie Cooper through the tannoy you know it's going to be extra shit. I just hope Port Vale turn out to be shitter shit.

Giraffe, I think you are barking from the wrong end of your body.
Nobody on the playing staff has given up, if anything they are very positive that team are playing well but letting in silly goals. Sort out defence, which they will, and FGR will end season mid-table.

I think playing well is a over egging it a bit! However there were signs on Tuesday night that we may have found the best central defensive partnership, in Roberts and Collins. Given a run together with the emphasis now firmly on keeping a clean sheet, we may begin to turn things around.

The best result for Vale fans would be if we defeat you! It's long been the maxim in the conference that if you get beat by FGR when your manager has already been under pressure then it's a sure fire thing he will be sacked very quickly following the game. It's seen as the last straw. So really you can't loose either way except perhaps if it's a draw.

One thing I will say about those, is that at least Charlie Cooper has shown he can be a good player for us at the end of last season and always puts a real shift in. He's got potential to be decent but not quite ready for this level atm.

Collins, yep can't understand why he was picked ahead of Russell. At all, Hopefully that changes from tomorrow now Sam's hopefully fit. You need experience in goal when your in a relegation battle.

Laird disappointing given his reputation, still our best left back by default. Seems a top bloke though, and does know his way around at this level. Should improve.

Yeah, sort of agree with much of what has been mentioned above, some of our fans seem to be turning on themselves at the moment...resorting to slagging each other off on the forums of other teams...no need for that, makes them and us look like a right bunch of (put your choice expletive here!). I definitely agree with Stripes about Tuesday evening, we were far more organised and although we conceded a goal from a mistake, the defence didn't look as shaky as it had done in other games.

That said, sorry Port Vale, but we really could do with a win tomorrow to give us a bit of hope that the season won't be a total disaster...as suggested, we could continue our record of getting opposition managers the sack...every cloud has a silver lining, isn't that how the saying goes?

We need the win as much if not more!

In terms of getting Brown sacked regardless it wont happen, we've allegedly given him under November!

By November you'll be 15 points adrift at this rate.

Very true and the hence the fans are kicking off over it, the expectation was he'd be fired yesterday!

Let's face it, we could both do with a win...sets us up nicely for a boring 0-0, where both teams discover their defensive capabilities but are impotent in attacking situations!

Some of our fans would like to see our manager sacked but for all his green credentials our owner doesn't seem to like recycling managers...although he can be pretty brutal when required.

If you call 19th midtable.

Signed a keeper who just announced status today on loan from Derby so that's one problem sorted.

Had to check my phone! Brown actually playing a decent line up in its right place! Two full backs and two up front!

Same team as Tuesday. Hopefully we'll stay solid at the back.
